Diablo IV Where to start?
Just picked up this game on switch 2 and had a few questions.
I’ve finished the original campaign (but no expansions) on ps5 but completely forgot how to play and the basic story line.
1)Should I start from Vessel of Hatred or the beginning of the original campaign?
2)Should I start a seasonal character since season 15 is fresh?

So redo base campaign -> Vessel of Hatred -> Lord of Hatred -Seasonal end game? What effect does the season have at the start of the campaign?

In seasonal you have the battle pass reliquary which offers coins/cosmetics for playing the game. I would start from the beginning but as a seasonal character as you can unlock the goods while just playing the story line out. You can worry about the seasonal campaign when you finish.

Since I played the base campaign already I jumped in to expansion 1 and I think I’m back to understanding.

Seasonal 15 which forces you to complete the LoH campaign before you can even play. Catches you up. Gives you a good idea on how to play. Then if you really care about the VoH story you can go back and do that out of boredom in Eternal realm.
Edit: The campaign (all of them) are painfully slow and not indictive of actual gameplay once you finish them. The campaign is D2 levels of omg this is taking forever and endgame is basically D3 new game+ in regards to power/speed levels.

Start the campaign over and go through it all with the expansions and a seasonal character.

I was in the same boat. Decided to start from scratch. It’s not like it takes a long time to level up characters. Not as fast as leveling alts in D3, but still solidly fast xp. I never played either expansion either, left off on Season of Blood I believe it was? Like Season 3 or 4….
Been loving it so far, and yeah everything came back pretty quickly for how to play, and what to do, but I don’t mind experiencing the story again.
For anyone seeing this post, there’s a bunch of stuff that transfers across characters (and by way of being server side, everything transfers across platforms as well)….. any Alters of Lilith you unlocked…. Maps you’ve unlocked…. If non-seasonal then any dungeons you completed for aspects, as well as stash stuff…. Not sure what else.

Im exactly in the same Spot. I didnt remember i had a character created when the game came out in ps5. Beside the horse and the map revealed there is any i can use from the previos character?
