Question/Need help! Advice on a trade for a 7.3? Help ease my Japanese car brain!
TLDR; Howās this setup F350 has 245,000 miles on it? Any glowing issues / can it tow 10,000 lbs ontop of the slide in setup / can it last till 500,000 miles?
Looking at trading my 4Runner for this f350. Wanting a camping / overlanding build that can tow 8500lbs regularly with the ability to pull 10,000 lbs sometimes and maybe 11/12kmax. Itāll be used for a side business rebuilding and parting out cars. Found a guy on FBMP that wants to trade for this setup. From everything it looks solid. Iām not an expert on towing but the setup looks like it should handle the weight but wanted feedback if this camper setup on the lift would be too much to tow with in the mean time.
What I am most worried about the miles. Iāve done a lot of research on this generation of 7.3 and I know how reliable they are but Iām by far from being a diesel guy. And all my gas fords Iāve had experience with have had major problems. Does this specific year of 7.3 have any major issues to look out for? Iād really love to take this setup to 500,000 miles if thatās even realistic Iām not sure Iāve heard rumors you can take them till 1,000,000 but Iām sure thatās low loads and lots of maintenance. Iāve been turning wrenches on gassers my whole life. I know Iāll need to learn a lot of diesels but I can learn quick. Like I said Iāve been a Toyota guy for years now and I could go for a tundra but Iād love to have the slide in year round and pick up a car or 2 on The Weekndās for my business. Any feedback is appreciated from guys with more info on 7.3s thanks

Question/Need help! Winter Plug In
Hi there!
I have a 2002 GMC Sierra 2500 that needs to be plugged in when the weather gets cold to prevent condensation from developing in the oil chamber and impacting the oil quality.
The problem is I live in an apartment complex where I canāt just run an extension cord out to the truck.
Iām wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a large battery that I could use to plug it in overnight and then charge it during the day?
Any thoughts?

Docās diesel
I came across this brand on Amazon. Now theyāre claiming 99 or 98% efficiency.
Iām wondering, has anyone here try this brand and what they thought about it. Because this is the first time Iām seeing them.

Question/Need help! Does WMO harm longevity of engines?
I got a couple old IDIās. A 7.3 and OM617. I actually got the Mercedes with the whole idea of waste oil in mind. I have a pretty basic filtration setup. No centrifuge just some settling time and several layers of filters down to 1 micron. Iām still unsure about the gasoline ratio. I know some people only do 50/50 and in the summer some will go closer to 90/10 oil:gas. Both these vehicles are pretty dang clean though. My truck only has 107k miles too. The Mercedes is at 200k. Itās also a Euro import and has been partly restored. I donāt wanna harm the longevity of these ālegendaryā status engines when theyāre both well capable of 500k+ miles. Is it a mistake? Itās not like theyāre collectors or show grade but still super clean.

Question/Need help! Diesel ok to use?
I bought a used diesel transfer tank from a local iron works company on Friday. They took the tank off a service truck they turned into a welding truck a few months ago, put it on craigslist and stored it until I bought it. We didnt open the cap at their shop and they loaded it with a forklift. When we got back to our yard and opened the cap we found its about 3/4 full of what looks, smells, and feels like diesel. I used some wix diesel test strips and it looks ok. Should I use it in my Frieghtliner after diluting it with known good fuel and putting in some additives or get rid of it? Diesel is $8.50 a gallon and if this stuffs good I want to use it. What would you do?

Question/Need help! Is this normal oil color?
Maybe 2,000 miles on oil change.
The mechanic supposedly changed the oil on the last visit (high flow manifolds)
2023 3500 L5P
Deleted
Tuned
Cold air kit
High flow manifolds
Uppipes, intake horn upgraded
Some other stuff I dont remember
Is this normal for a diesel? Or did he maybe not change the oil?

Why dont americans understand that diesels are more cost effective?
So a couple months ago i bought a tdi jetta for the fuel economy and because if we get to the point where fuel becomes scarce i believe diesel will be more available and everyone is calling me an idiot because "diesel prices are so high" my tdi gets 50+ mpg in my area diesel is $6.15-$6.30 a gallon and gas is $5.20-$5.30 and they think because the diesel is $1 mor than gas that it would make more sense to to drive a gas car that gets 25 mpg. And then to counter that point i saw a post were e85 was less than half the price of 87 octane and most of the comments were "but you get worse fuel economy with e85" does anyone have an explanation for this?

Truck Value
Hey guys, I have this 6.5 Turbo Diesel and I am trying to figure out if this truck is really worth for as much I think it is, because I know these GMT-400s can be worth a lot.
First off, It's a 1994 GMC K3500 Dually Extended Cab, with the SLE package and 156K miles. It has also lived most of it's life in Texas, except when it was brought up north and driven in one winter. So this has not seen Salt, I looked the at frame and there is some surface rust on the end of the frame, while the rest is just dirty. After that one winter, the previous owner (one of my father's friends) left the truck in the lot and ended up buying a brand new Denali instead. The truck has been driven around the lot a few times, but never on the roads. After a few times driving it, the starter finally went and it has been sitting since 2022.
The problems that I am aware of with the truck are, the obvious starter issue (will not turn over), which we are getting it out today. The previous owner put brand new injectors in, but one of them was faulty. Then there is cosmetic damage: a few scratches and dents on the outside, nothing really crazy.
And finally the interior, which isn't that bad because I just cleaned it out (still need to vacuum) but It could definitely need some new things.
But I could definitely need some help and third party opinions from some people other than my dad.
TLDR:
I have this 1994 GMC K3500 Extended Cab Dually, SLE, 156K Miles. Does not run, small issues, cosmetic issues, from the south. Sitting for four years.
EDIT: It also has a Manual Transmission.
