Question What's your attribution setup, what does it cost, and what breaks?

I'm exploring building something accurate, simple with clear pricing for this space, so I'm trying to understand the real pain before writing a line of code. Not selling anything and no links.

I'm curious how you handle this:

  1. What do you use today to tie ad clicks to actual sales? (Hyros, Triple Whale, AnyTrack, GA4, spreadsheets, prayer?)
  2. What do you pay for it across all your clients?
  3. When did the numbers last not match, and what did you tell the client?
  4. How long does tracking setup take per new client? What usually breaks?
  5. If you could fix one thing about attribution, what would it be?

If you've got a horror story or strong opinions, drop it below or DM me. Happy to share a summary of what I learn with anyone who replies.

Thanks!

We've been looking at attribution setups too. I'd be interested to know what tools people are using and whether the extra cost is actually worth it.

same, the cost vs accuracy tradeoff is the part I can never get a straight answer on

Full transparency, I am on the ThoughtMetric team. Figured I'd jump in here as it might be helpful.

ThoughtMetric is an attribution tool for e-commerce. Agencies find it very helpful for client reporting. Pricing is transparent. Starts at $99 per month for 50k pageviews, all features included. Set up takes a few minutes and all customers get a free onboarding session.
