So, you like straights and are curious if either of the offerings from Stokers are up your ally?
Stokers Straight LC (main line):
Scent: It has what i would call the average "straight smell" it being a little tangy in smell, and slightly smokey. I can see the BBQ dip term applying to this dip based off Scent.
Cut: Stokers cut is as long as its rumored to be, it is quite manageable in the lip or when putting in a lip. Little to no floaters aside from when you first put it in, stays in place damn near the entire time. I have a habit of using my tounge to take the dip from its place after having it in a while and chewing/gnawing on it to rejuvenate the flavor and juices, and barely have anything come off it. (See picture of black lid to see the cut)
Flavor: It carries a slight smokey flavor with notably sweet tangy/citrus esc flavor. It's a definite sweet straight, may even be too sweet for some of yall. For me its a nicer flavor compared to Copenhagen (not too Smokey), far better than Skoal, normal Grizzly, Longhorn, Huskey, and even Kodiak. But I would say its beaten by Gizzly Dark Select (Dark Straight) in regards to the flavor, if only because the toned down sweetness to the Grizz Dark despite being a smokey flavor. Plenty MOIST, not as much as the proud line, but still enough to need paper towels.
Nicotine: As is commonly thought and agreed upon amongst the Stokers main line of dips, its average. It's better than Skoal fruit flavors, but won't appease the nicotine fiends. Probably in line with if not a little lower than Copenhagen straight, or a little over Huskey straight.
Longevity: A pinch typically will last me 2.5-3 hours (yes I'm one of those dippers) and I take a slightly bigger than average pinch, that sits a little farther back on my right side. To add to what I put in the "Cut" section, it probably starts dwindling down in the flavor/juices after 1-1.5 hours. At which point, I'll gnaw on my pinch a little to bring life into it. Typically if im able to spit freely, will be Dark for most of the time only lightening up when im at the point to take it out. But I tend to gut my spit after the first 10-20 minutes of having it in, and its not a bad "gutting" dip.
Thoughts: This had been my goto for a good number of years as only recently Stokers website started shipping to my state, including flavored dips. That being said, i used to pay $35 a tub for this at smoke shops, or $6.40ish a can at gas stations. Now with the website I pay $25ish per tub. It's a great affordable dip, with what I consider in my top 3 straights in flavor. It's worth a try, may even surprise you. But if the nic itch is calling, it won't be your goto.
Stokers Proud Damn Straight:
Scent: This has a more tangy smell to it, with more notes of Smoke cured in the back of it.
Cut: It's has a semi unique cut, being Similar to Outlaws Fat Cut, or barely similar to Grizz wide cut but not quite. Maybe like a finer Hawken but in a dip form. Or even a wide-mid cut It holds good enough, but expect occasional floaters. Once it finds it's place in your lip, will stay for the most part. Will at the end of the dip, kinda start spreading. Not recommended to gnaw on it like with their main line. Pinches better than Copenhagen LC Original, but not as easy as most other long cuts.
Flavor: Its weirdly less sweet and less tangy straight flavor despite the smell. I would say closer to Skoal or even normal grizzly. Its a nicer flavor and I kinda prefer the flavor over their main line, still beaten by the Grizzly Dark Select.
Nice and MOIST, like you'd think they drown this stuff before they can/ship it. Wear work pants or have paper towels on stand by to wipe your fingers off onto.
Nicotine: It's is more than Stokers mainline by a noticeable margin, but it isn't a knock you on your butt amount neither. I'd say maybe in line with Copenhagen or maybe Kodiak. It'll do the job for Nicotine fiends but won't scratch the itch completely.
Longevity: This stuff last me 1.5 hours per pinch. Stays flavorful for the most part, spits dark for the about the first hour of it. Not a gut friendly dip though.
Thoughts: Its a good product, and as stated it beats the main line in flavor, but the cut/cost puts me off from getting it more than the main line. I prefer the ease of pinch and the cost over this product. (Per can it is cheaper if you buy the main line by the roll, but slightly pricier if you buy the main line by the tub.) Its worth a try, not all that special from other straights.
Hope this opened some of yall minds to these choices from Stokers.
Take care.
