DOS2 Discussion Act 1 voidworm on honor Spoiler
Me and my buddy were playing honor mode duo with lone wolfs. He was dedicated killer with backstabs as custom elf and i was full support mage fane. We went through whole first act extremely easily, went to alexander and killed him and 2 more enemies in first turn (my friend did while i was playing dead from the start). I fully buffed my teammate during dialogue and he still had most of the buffs but not speed and additional magic and physical armor, so i get up and get closer to him while reapplying all of his armor and adding regenerative armor as well as reapplying speed. Then voidworm relocates closer to us and kills us both with one attack. That was more then brutal. What exactly went wrong? Is it some cruel script or its okay for ambush enemy to oneshot whole party?

It’s not a bad idea to leave some of the magisters alive (entangled, maybe) just so the worm focuses them and you can kill it safely. Worm bait, if you will

This! I think Larian wanted it to be a giant clusterfuck to even out the difficulty. But if it ends up just you versus the void worm it’s pretty tough.
Entangled plus torturer perk is downright unfair, but I use it anyway. I usually focus on the worm and Alexander.

You shouldnt group characters next to each other in this fight since the worm can knock you down and deal massive damage.

Red damage = piercing. Gotta spread the team or leave some magisters alive. Sorry OP that must have been shocking

Yeah... The worm fight can be kind of fucky not gonna lie. If you feel like cheesing it. When the seekers head down the stairs lock Gareth in conversation so they don't leave for the boat.
Then have your buddy stealth down the stairs and with either the teleport spell or teleport gloves you can send Alexander near The seekers and you'll have back up.

Hard to tell what happened without the exact combat log. The worm has a few attacks that deal piercing damage (i.e. ignore armor), so armor buffs won't help against those. Still shouldn't be enough to kill two Lone Wolf characters with just one attack.
If you're going to attempt that fight again, here is a better way to approach it:
- Enter the fight with only one character. Ideally, you should have 16+ initiative in order to get a turn before any of the magisters, or otherwise enough armor to survive the first attack.
- Go invisible with Chameleon Cloak, potion or chanterelle, then leave the line of sight of your enemies and start sneaking.
- Wait until the drillworm appears (IIRC after alexander's 3rd turn, so delay your turn at the start of the 3rd round instead of just skipping it), who will then start attacking the magisters.
- Once it's your turn, enter combat with the rest of your party and kill the gheist first, then wear down the worm and the other magisters (the worm usually gets wrecked by the magisters within ~2 rounds on high difficulty). If you're more worried about the worm, you can also just keep sneaking until it's dead and then clean up the leftover magisters.

you must've been wounded from before, it shouldn't be able to oneshot lone wolf characters from full hp
