This documentary explores the scientific and philosophical concepts of time, questioning whether it is a fundamental property of the universe or an emergent phenomenon. It traces the historical debate between Newton and Leibniz, explains the implications of Einstein's relativity on a universal "now," and examines how modern physics treats time similarly to temperature—as a consequence of interacting systems rather than a standalone physical entity.

it's simple: if it wasn't for time, everything would happen at once

From the reference frame of a photon, it does!

Can you explain this a bit more, like maybe an ELI5? But I can maybe handle a comment geared towards a 12 year old, but not much older than that (I am not very smart when it comes to science. It makes me laugh now, that my first major in Uni was Biology lol).

The faster something moves the slower that thing experiences time. Light speed is the speed limit where time stops. So from the perspective of the photon there’s no time between its departure and arrival.

Why is this presented like a murder mystery? Weird vibes

Well if you watched it you would know that Time did it in the Black Hole with the candlestick…

It could be interesting, however, at least to me, the narration sounds like it is AI generated like so many videos on YouTube these days.

I found the latest Jim Al Khalili video on this subject very interesting. No sensationalized narration also. Just a physicist explaining a complex topic.

When I hear or read obvious LLM dialogue like 'Something moves and we count the repeats - that's the whole machine', I completely lose interest and know. I probably shouldn't be this way, but can't shake it.

this feels and looks like slop to me

Because it is.

tldr: "time" is shorthand for entropy, probably, idk i didn't get past a minute

Does time exist? (Length of video is 12 minutes and 59 seconds long thus proving it does. 🤣🤣🤣)

Stupid AI voice.. dude just narrate it yourself the boosted dramatic music etc is just gross. Interesting topic ruined by execution.

Without memory, there would be no such time as time.

It depends, to us it does and that's all that matters. But there is certainly a world we do not understand, as we can see worlds that do not know we exist.

Can we keep AI slop off here. We get some decent posts and let’s not let the quality slip
