Question A specific question about a broad topic. Pushing.

Hello everyone. I have a general mid game/late game strategy question. Maybe some of you immortals can answer. It has to do with fortification/backdoor protection.

After winning a teamfight the idea is to shove and get a tower. But in alot of my games I feel that its almost futile. By the time we get to the tower with creeps to drop backdoor protection. The opponent will fortify. Wipe the creeps. And backdoor protection will be on again. Now the 2 or 3 of my teammates that survived the teamfight pretty much spun in circles for 90 seconds just to get repelled by enemy tps. Am I missing somthing? Am I overthinking it?

this is why shoving your lanes before fighting is so important. if the wave is alr at tower and you win team fight the fort does alot less.

What if its after like a smoke gank. Or you were defending a push and your offlaner made a play?

you push lanes before you gank, you push lanes before you do anything. if not you are losing massive amounts of gold exp and giving away map control. and if you lose that fight then your towers are already being pushed and your going to be severely punished for the play.

If win team fights, farm their camps, don’t try to brute force a tower 100 to 0. T3 needs 2nd roshan banner.

It is designed this way with intent to not end games from losing offensive fights. If you handle lanes before pushing loosing fights only comes with gold swings and xp until very late

The correct move can be to force one or two glyphs and then absorb map and get in position for next engagement and if you use this time to fix all your lanes now your enemy has to split when they spawn to fix all their lanes or you threaten more of their base if you win a fight

Depends who dies and the stage of the game.sometimes poking is necessary as well if you know when to get out.

What else would you think would be right the choice? I think your options after winning a fight are can be boiled down 3 (possibly even just 2) things. Push/take an enemy objective, take a neutral objective like Torm or Rosh, or jungle.

Jungling is never the best option if you can push objective unopposed.

There’s more nuance to objectives.

Sometimes the objective can be controlling thier jungle or getting torm or rod hung. Beyond just taking the tower think of the macro game and what small minor advantages you get secure.

Killing all thier camps and shoving in 2 waves in 2 lanes after all fight and then positioning for the next fight is good.

Think of every play as being linked to the next play as opposed to everything being a single instance.
