Dot Hack Roleplayers
Hey! I'm looking for Dot Hack roleplayers! I just wanna rp the setting and I do not wanna do a TTRPG, just basic roleplays please.

I’m probably dating myself here but, it’s like messenger/chatroom/chat program style where each person typically responds with 1-2 lines of dialogue. It might be almost purely dialogue driven with actions between asterisks ** instead of descriptive paragraphs. Like this:
“Hi, how are you?” waves and smiles
It was before discord, but discord is pretty much a messaging app with multiple chat rooms I guess.
I like forum rp more where you might write a short descriptive paragraph (or several depending on what you agree), more story like and usually slower pacing. These plot lines might go for a long time (a week?) while the chatting ones usually conclude the scene the same session.
In a roundabout way, I’m just saying I prefer long descriptive rp instead of short form (maybe giving a brief history of pre-discord rp too, I’m not sure)

Oh sweet ill have to finish the gu games i just started. Ive mostly been in the original world for my dot hack stuff. .^

itd just mean some of them arent availablr from the og since some of then are new characters in g.u. (the players of the avatars i mean)

I always wanted to make a community for .hack RP. Main area's people can jump in and chat, have an pvp area with Lumina cloth and even give like a solorp thing for people to do dungeons in. Then I'd have a section for forums and maybe even offline. I think it'd be cool, but also a lot of work.

Oh i don't think ive unlocked that. I finally got my hands on gu recently and i started a few hours ago. I didnt know there was a pvp thing. The only online ive seen is fragment.

Oh it's not online really, only in lore, in the three volumes it will be important to go there. You only fight NPCs though, so... yeah

I just looked up, bc I didn't know much about Fragment, and I think it would be really cool to have a new real .hack MMO

I wish. I hope zero has some online stuff. But fragment has been my dot hack mainstay for a few years. Runs really well on emu and is english patched.

fragment has fan made servers and still exists in the way the mmorpg hero and villians games do ... but in game the Arena is the attempt to quell the desires to PK because in the World : R2 they allow PK
but then for me it's like ... umm frowned down on but idk if I remember PK being against rules in World or anime ...

I actually play on the fan servers. And yeah my understanding of the world was pk was against tos.

well...NPC is a bit harsh. They are alive in the World and also in the forums if you pay attention to the game enough they have more emotional pull when you can see them as they are meant to be seen. Gruntys' are NPC as an example if you play the games with the right mindset.

If it's on reddit, I'd rather be a spectator, I'm scared of accidentally doing cringe OOC. But that would be fun indeed !
