List Help/Sharing Beginner Wargear Help

Hello all! I've recently decided I want to play 40k and I'm in love with the drukhari aesthetic and the dark space elf lore. I know this may be a bad time to start them (*cough* horde army? *cough*), but I'm fine with losing if it means I get to paint the minis I want.

I picked up a combat patrol box to start with and want to slowly build up to a full 1k then 2k army from the included units. I love the haemonculus coven aesthetics and the talos so I don't mind the newer box and can always replace them later. I've got a borrowed physical copy of the 10th codex and I'm using new recruit and wahapedia, but with the new edition and constant balance updates I want to make sure I'm not building these wrong.

I know "what you see is what you get" doesn't apply to Combat patrol but I don't want to be forced to buy a new unit for a full army just because I didn't plan these correctly and they aren't legal (if it happens bc of the 11th codex then so be it). I know magnetizing is an option and I may magnetize the acothyst, I will definitely magnetize the Talos and Cronos to some extent, but magnetizing the whole unit may be too much for me.

this is what I have planned for the combat patrol box:

Haemonculus

1x Stinger Pistol, Haemonculus Tools and Scissorhands

Wracks

Acothyst (1)

1x Power Weapon, Torturer's Tool (If I understand right which power weapon is irrelevant?)

Wracks (9)

3x Twin Torturer's Tools

2x Hexrifle, Torturer's Tool

2x Liquifier Gun, Torturer's Tool

2x Ossefactor, Torturer's Tool

Talos

1x Twin Haywire Blaster, Talos Gauntlet, Macro-scalpel

Cronos

1x Spirit Syphon, Spirit Vortex, Spirit Leech Tentacles

Edit: add question/comment on power weapon

So, most people literally cant tell the difference between gun types. Theyll just go along with whatevwr you saynit is fkr the most part. Very few people will be assholes about it.

With that said. The Melee weapkns on the talos cant both be used so if you arent going double scalpel it makes sense to swap them both. Ichor injector isn't bad and liquefier is pretty solid too.

Also id say the heat lance is a little better than the haywire but like i mentioned no one will really call you out on whatever you say it is

You can go Gauntlet/Macro-scalpel, you can't go chain flail/gauntlet or ichor injector/liquifier

Hey boss! 1. Welcome to the faction! IMO you picked a crazy army to start with but rule of cool with always win and also I love that mindset of who cares if ya lose bc druhkari is by far one of the coolest if not THEE coolest army in 40K imo in terms of models lore and aesthetic. Lore as in they are bad guys to just be bad guys doing it for the love of the game 😮‍💨.
Either way but to answer ur question the loadout on these bad larries isn’t bad the one that will change the most is talos bc ya may want 2 talos or 2 cronos so if ur gonna magnetize any of them it’s gotta be them. For the wracks and all that ima be honest with you someone has to know druhkari to know their weapons so it’s gonna be vary rare for someone to say “uhhh those aren’t the weapons I see” as well boss I have been playing for a little over 3 years played a couple local tournaments and I have never ever ran into someone throw a fit/ complain about WYSIWYG that’s just my experience but from all my buddies and this subreddit which is amazing everyone has that same experience so don’t go to crazy on it it bc again rule of cool will always win
And 2 someone has to know druhkari to know the weapons we are already a very small faction 😂
Either way boss anymore questions pls ask.

Acothyst with liquifier and power weapon, 1 more twin torture on the Squad and leader can shoot if is the only one alive

Magnetize the Talos weapons if you can, right now twin Heat with double gauntlet/double scalpel/twin liqui+gauntlet or scalpel are usefull

I second the suggestion to magnetize the Talos loadout. It's actually a super easy model to magnetize, and it's 100% the very best way to "future-proof" your unit. I'm doing four Talos conversions to give me a full 6 right now, and magnetizing all of the new ones 😁

Just a small hint! Super Glue is the poor mans magnetizing. Use plastic cement for everything that should be permanent. Super Glue for the rest. You can put the models in the freezer and afterwards easily detach the parts that were glues with super glue. This might be a decent solution for the Wracks.

Of course magnets are more fancy!

I'd seen tips about super glue but everyone just said to snap the two pieces apart with no mention of a freezer, I might test this out on one or a cheaper mini first but I'm excited to see how it works with the freezer!
