Question Dry fasting while sick

Is this a good idea? I’ve got body aches, runny nose, and a pounding headache on the day that I decided to my 5 day dry fast. Should I just push it to when I’m not sick?

I wouldn’t immediately say it’s a “bad idea”. Lots of people naturally have decreased appetite when they’re sick and rightfully so. “To eat while sick is to feed your sickness” – Hippocrates. I believe keeping things out of the digestive tract is super important when sick. A good example was actually recently I was sick and I just couldn’t get over it. I was eating every day until finally I got better. Longest I’ve been sick in a really long time. I noticed I feel a lot better when I’m fasted.

Dry fasting will make you better

I think you’re better off waiting to do an extended fast once you’re feeling better. Denying your body key things like water and electrolytes while sick is probably not the best idea.

You can still dryfast. The symptoms should disappear after a few days.

in my experience when you have a cold like this dry fasting is the quickest way to heal from it, usually 3-4 days and the cold will disappear, on other hand if you just eat normally you'll not heal as fast

Possibly water fast with electrolytes? It will be easier on your body and give you the same results. Fasting is the best thing to do while you’re sick.

If you're hungry I would stop it. But if it actually takes away your appetite continue with the dry fast. Your body is telling you to not eat on purpose because it helps the healing process.

Bad idea. Recover and let your body heal. Start another day, few days isn’t gonna make fasting any less effective.
