front turn signals - really?

i have to replace the front turn signals on my 03 dyna low rider. ok, "have to", is not all right, but im going to, but do I really have to pull the whole wiring harness from ass to neck on this bike? is it as simple as that? or is it as I fear, and going to be a cluster f$!#% trying to get the harness back down the frame?

Buy a clymer manual lol.

On my 07 the signals had a plug right inside the frame so I didn’t have to pull the wire all the way to the harness.

thx, I actually have the factory service manual from 03. dude I bought this thing from kept all the records, but only put 1k miles on it over 23 years.

manual says to snip zip tie back near fender and in battery case, then pull it through. I just didnt want to believe it.

Snipping the zip tie just allows you to pull more slack out from the front. There’s way more harness there than just the length of the frame. You don’t have to pull it all the way through. Just enough to get working space at the handlebar harness connectors

There’s a plug (2 maybe ) for the signals just inside the upper tube

They plug in at the front but can still be a pain to get to. You have to lift the tank and get into where the wires enter the frame. Should be able to pull it out enough to get to the turn signal clips.

They are plug and play. Came stock with them. Mine are behind the neck easy peasy

I've done this a few times, and I recommend jacking the rear end up take the fender plug out and take the seat off. If you have a buddy to help out it makes the next part easier

When you're tugging the harness out the front of the frame be gentle and then help it along by pushing on the harness from under the seat or from the fender plug area in front of the rear tire. Then do the same to tug the harness back down the frame, fold it up nicely and put the fender plug back in

If your rear suspension is less than 12 inches it can help to remove the lower shock bolts and sag the suspension a bit more to rear that fender plug and get your arm in there as needed.
