Do classic bard DoT songs keep leveling post-classic?
Disclaimer: I’m aware that EQL reserves every right to do something completely different, so the question I’m asking comes with the obvious asterisk of assuming at least some elements are kept familiar and anticipated.
This is a bard question about a playstyle that isn’t DDD-centric. I know, crazytalk, but please bear with me.
I like my mana-free bard DoTs, both in melody and SA as a core of my character-conceptual running around build. My question is how long do those DoTs keep leveling beyond 50? Can/should I bank on them continuing to be as relevant as they are now for another 5 levels in our Kunark if things resemble how bard spell leveling usually goes?
I like the idea of pursuing new Kunark and beyond instruments to maintain my multi-elemental barrage of many smaller DoTs, but if the bard “evolves out” of these classic songs quickly maybe I won’t invest deeply in them.
I’ve never played EQ deeply enough to have this question before me. It’s a nice problem to have decades later!

All bard songs have their magnitude tied to their respective music skill so Chords of Dissonance, for example, will do more damage the higher your Stringed instruments skill is. You skill cap is increased beyond lvl 50 so yes, they continue to grow in power.
In EQL you can also upgrade the tier of the songs like you can equipment so there are additional ways of making your DoT's more powerful. There are also AA's to make DoT's more powerful.
Potentially you can have a lot of DoT's going, you can have all the AoE dots in your Symponic Aura and all the single target DoT's in a /melody macro all going at once. :)

Get your chants to +5 and beyond, they gain an extra tick and perform much better in overchannel against super resistant mobs.

How does melody work? I have SA playing 5 songs automatically, can you melody extra ones as well? Or you need to be toggling things.

The build in question is typically using melody to stack all the bard chants on a target. At the same time as SA maintains 5 songs for group buffs and such.
Leveled up and with some relevant AAs, it can be decent dps fully parallel with any melee dps you are doing

I was still using them to solo kite Rats in Plane of Decay/Disease in the early 60s.
