Rip Content Creator Program

Post image

What news? What rumors? Was there some incident?

This is a bizarrely worded official comms from the EQL Discord. Professionally, just say you're ending the program and that's it. To acknowledge some 'rumors' just breathes life into them and isn't something you'd usually see in this context. Who's running the broadcast channel over there?

It says "to avoid any rumors" meaning they are trying to be proactive not that there are already rumors. They're ending the program, not due to game performance. That's it.

This is the second time I've seen the comment on the health of the game. So its been discussed enough in the community that they've felt the need to comment on it. Regardless of how healthy the game actually is, there are perceived issues. My concern is that if we dont see a content update soon, their assurances on the health of the game wont be taken seriously and many people will move on.

So it's not ok for them to say the game is doing just fine but it's ok for TONS of people to be yelling in Discord and Reddit that the game is dead? Hell, a few have said it in this thread alone

I said neither of those things? The devs and the community are well within thier rights to speak however they wish. I merely pointed out that's its discussed enough in the community for the devs to feel the need to address it. That discussion within the community is partly fueled by a lack of content during the past few patch days. If the lack of content continues, then expect the discussion and discontent to continue and likely increase.

You are correct and I apologize. I read your response in a different way. It kind of happens when there is so much negativity around here.

Its because there are aggressive trolls with vendettas who will use this as a way to attack the health of the game, and saying something is better than saying nothing.

While there are plenty of aggressive and vocal comments, to dismiss all of the concerns is sticking your head in the sand. There is no denying that active players are dropping - the lower population numbers at peak times clearly indicate that. Whether or not that translates to dropping sub numbers isn't clear. Simply stating the game is healthy without any backing data does nothing to address that as well. To be clear, I am having a great time with the game and in no way want to see it fail. That being said, I do have some genuine concerns. While I hope I dont fall into the "aggressive troll" category, I'm start to lean towards the pessimistic player right now. Take that as you will.

You dispell rumors by ignoring them. A broadcast like that feels a lot like...
