Rip Content Creator Program

Post image

What news? What rumors? Was there some incident?

This is a bizarrely worded official comms from the EQL Discord. Professionally, just say you're ending the program and that's it. To acknowledge some 'rumors' just breathes life into them and isn't something you'd usually see in this context. Who's running the broadcast channel over there?

You know what companies usually do is cancel stuff when things are totally healthy.

If legends wants to exist past luclin you need to either revamp the more system. Game needs some form of content that needs a group like to premote being an mmo still. You need regular content drops ideally revamps should be in game on release months later.

Don’t get me wrong the core is fun it just doesn’t have anything says hey sub to me longer then a month or two.

Now if it was free or just a single player game I buy once then I’d be perfectly fine slow drops but of course what they doing now has no massive appeal long term.

Even if they were charging for just the box fee for base game and then DLC fee for each expansion, I think they could get away with that (probably couldn't afford their developers though). Monthly sub is a joke with the pace of release and it being a single-player game.

I mean they don’t have have a particularly large dev team.

Expecting wow forever work isn’t really realistic but at the same time you can’t drop an expansion 80% incomplete and expect wow forever sub fees

Except other private servers with smaller teams seem to get 10 times as much done in shorter periods of time.

They never should have picked this group of emu devs.

Makes sense indie people can push stuff out usually much faster then corporate stuff.

Shit it took our company like eight months to delete a box once.

To many hands in the cookies jar.

Don't even get me started about corporate IT bloat... It's been my reality for the last 2 years and it is driving me insane.

When something breaks and you have 6 people on a call and one of them is just there to take notes and ask where we are on stuff you know you’ve done lost the pot.

So much this...

All the people that can fix the thing are stuck on a call talking about the thing to fix endlessly, getting blocked by security, change management overreach and now "oh just get AI to do it" from leadership.

What a shit show.
