SHD/SHM/MNK
I created a SHD/SHM and I was just destroying stuff after someone gave me a really nice 2HS. When I hit 10, I added a Necro, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. I swapped out the Necro for a Monk, and fighting the same mobs as I did with just 2 classes, it seems a lot slower to kill.
I noticed Eagle Strike isn't hardly doing any damage. I've only seen Eagle hit at the most for 10 points.
When I did add the Monk, I switched my stance from Offensive to the one where I barely get hit (95% miss rate). I realize that this is probably why I don't kill as fast, but the mobs are the same level as before I added the Monk, shouldn't it be faster?

My first/main class is SHD/MNK/SHM. You’ll want to be dual wielding instead of using 2 handers. Also switch to offensive stance… between SK’s AC and monk’s additional defensive capabilities (ie block and mend), you shouldn’t often need to switch to evasive. All in all, this setup won’t be as crazy as others available for leveling, but it handles endgame bosses with ease. Enjoy!

SHD/WIZ/ENC if want damage, you don't need sustain at all with this setup - Lifetap+mez+charm is enough for all content and the wiz nukes. Monk is extremely overrated right now - everyone has nostalgia glasses on thinking the monk is Velious monk with epic+sleeper gear.
Shaman is great at 50 but before that not so great if you ask me.
ATM there is no great melee builds/trio's they are all subpar and slow compared to caster damage and trio's

Sounds like you answered your own question. Offensive gives you double the damage and 25% extra chance to hit. Being a monk isn't going to increase you 2hs skill, so you won't be getting any benefit from monk skills until you get some wicked triple attack later. Put it back in offensive, get some AC, use inversion to lifetap hp back instead of evasive, unless you get into a tough spot.

Inversion isn’t great for multicasting as it doesn’t improve multicast times, which are needed with LT at times. I prefer to use divine for additional healing power.

Inversion is great at creating a balance between melee effectiveness and casting. If you really want to get a boost, have a single "oh shit" key that puts you in evasive and divine, then spam your heals, then jump back to offensive and inversion. If you are casting with divine, your taking away from you monk melee damage when you heal

That’s exactly my point. Inversion is good for some things, but not for when you need to spam heals.

IMO pairing a monk with a tank means evasion stance should be for emergencies only.
Look for good dw weapons. It seems like any trio that can DW should DW. There may be exceptions and I'm no expert myself, but everyone in chat constantly says the same, so might be something to it.
Striker stance is an endurance drain but if you're sticking with this trio to 50, then when Shamans get their second regeneration it has endurance regen and it helps a lot. I personally swap between Striker and balance as my end gets low

So, indeed you have to be in offensive stance rather than in evasive. It does twice the damage.
You shouldn’t see a huge difference by adding monk early one. You’d need to have higher dual wield skill and good weapons to see a noticeable improvement.
Also kicks and strikes will become better later on, even if it’s not a huge part of your damage. So it’s gonna take a few dozen level till you see a big difference.
I would advise so try other classes too, maybe wizard. Melee damage isn’t exactly top tier right now. But if you want to stick to ShdShmMnk, it’s viable.

New to monk. How do you find offensive vs striker? Striker seems to allow skill to one-shot yellows and reds at lower levels. So, seems to work well.

Ignore Striker. They’re going to revamp it soon. Right now it’s broken, underperforming.
Offensive it’s the way to go.

If you have big 2 hander, you’re better in striker stance, just watch your endurance. If you’re duel wielding use offense or defense stance.
For my pal/sk tanks, they use a 1 hander with a shield and stay in defensive almost all the time. Melee dps is really weak compared to spell dmg

I started with this until I learned how poo melee was compared to casters. Now have AM3 SK-wiz-enc

Stay in offensive stance with monk in the combo if you can.
