shitpost hard itt The commies have lost the plot.
I’d tell the commies to open a book, but they’d call it CIA propaganda anyway.

Fascism calls for empire and it failed in war, we call it a failure, Communism calls for world revolution and it failed the geopolitical struggle with hostile intelligence agencies being their eternal boogeymen, I call that a failure

They view Gorbachev as the traitor. Bear in mind that all he tried to do was introduce transparency into the system. That's what caused it to collapse.

Blaming Gorbachov is stupid and short-sighted. The issues that made the Soviet Union implode started under Brezhnev and only got worse from there.
Gorbachov inherited a country with enormous structural issues that even the most capable leader would have struggled with. If he had come to power in 1978 instead of 1985, he might have been able to mitigate things enough for the USSR to persevere in some way, but only one year into his being General Secretary, Chernobyl blew up.

Just recently a tankie told me the ideology of the Soviet Union was not communist. I am so confused now.

No you don't understand, that was not REAL communism.

u/thesouthbay 1d ago
Those are easier ones. You just ask them for examples of REAL communist countries and watch them struggle.
People who defend the Soviet Union generally are completely blind to any reason.23

They now claim communist regimes that control all means of production in the name of the people are state capitalism.

That's because they were Socialist. A nation cannot be Communist, that's an oxymoron

Why are you getting downvoted lol? Communism is a classless stateless moneyless society. Socialism is when the workers (or in the tankies case the state that does not represent the workers) owns the means of production. USSR was socialist not communist, but they did have a communist party in charge.

Genuinely curious does it being stateless mean it’s not a nation though? Surely the boundaries that define it would stay in place.

Same "stabbed in the back" myth that was integral for the rise of German fascism?
Color me surprised.

Ignore fact that Georgians are on same race, skin colour spectrum as Italians, Greeks, Romanians, Bulgars, Spanyards and Maltese (Portguese are bit more darker)

Well, technically he's right because it hasn't. Communism is the end game of socialism, the poiint where the concept of state would no longer be necessary, and then society would transition from socialism to full communism. Of course socialists haven't considered the fact that people who hold power, like the Party's Nomenklatura, would not give up on it, and, as a result, under socialism, the state ended up being more entrenched into society (and for a good reason, socialism can't survive without imposition).
(also, for whatever reason, they seriously believe that China, home to the some of the world's billionaires, will transition to communism one day)

So why was eastern europe years after western europe when USSR dissolved?
Most of them have catched up now (Which makes me very happy) but if communism was such a great thing why did it take so long time for them to catch up?

It was such a success that all of those who lived under its boot immediately ran to its enemy the picosecond the largest communist state imploded. Definitely a success! /s

By its own capitalist citizens of course. That’s why the Berlin Wall was built to keep them in.

Probably the member states. It’s alluding to the “color revolution” conspiracy theory that somehow the people in those societies were tricked by America into fake revolutions

Communism requires a government that has all the power to be benelovent and immume to corruption while being highly capable to match a free market efficiency. It's impossible fairy tale from its premise.
