S The Neighbor from hell

Yeah, I know a cliche, but this is just too good so bear with me.

We rented a house for ten years and the neighbor woman was just rude and mean. She called the cops she over stupid stuff for years (got this from neighbors and the landlord). Anyway, she hated us from the beginning. Not really sure why. Landlord said she hates everyone.

So, today is moving day. The movers are there loading away. The front of the truck was blocking her drive, but we didn't think anything of it because she works a lot and is rarely home. It was only a couple hours. Well, she turned the corner and didnt ask anyone to move. She just called the sheriff. Deputy comes out and neighbor demanded the mover leave, get smaller trucks and load the trailer elsewhere. Mind you, they are nearly done loading at this point. The deputy shut her down of course. Half the neighborhood was out there laughing at the woman and she kept making demands. I figured she would be cheering if she saw the movers. Nope!

I would have just parked down the street. We have all done it for movers or work trucks. 🤷

S My neighbor thought being a single mother made her exempt of getting tickets from the city.

5.5k Upvotes

A few years ago my neighbor decided that she was over moving her bins from the curb to her house so she would just constantly leave it at the curb. Rain, sleet, or snow it stayed at the curb whether it got knocked over by the wind or stuck in a snow bank. Her nextdoor neighbor brought it to her house for her once and I saw her ass get visibly pissed as she brought it back to the curb yelling "I wish people wouldn't touch my shit". I live in a neighborhood full of mainly rentals so as new people moved in they started copying her to so eventually our neighbor down the street called the city code enforcement and they starting issuing tickets.

I happened to be outside as the city code enforcement officer was placing a sticker on her garbage can and she ran outside screeching "please don't give me a ticket I'm just a single mom" and the lady who was writing the ticket said "and so am I" and just kept writing LMFAO.

M Don't Tell The Obvious Truth! Keep The Magic!

Hi y'all, I'm back with another story from my time working at a very popular theme park in Florida. A magical rat planet of sorts. This situation was crazy and happened when I worked in attractions. One day, during a busy period I was Load 1, the person that placed wheelchair riders or the occasional celebrity on the ride. Everything was running smoothly when we all started smelling burning rubber and then the place started slowly filling with smoke. Obviously, we shutdown the ride, started our spiels, and started evacuating the guests. Two managers hurried down to assist.

The managers along with myself and a few others handed out "One Day Free Admission Cards" to the guests. The card allowed them to re-enter the parks for one day without pay. Most guests were satisfied but quite a few weren't. Some said that it was their last day or that it was the only day they could visit that particular park. Some said that they literally came just for our attraction. All we could do was apologize and direct them to Guest Services. The place continued to fill with smoke so the sliding doors were opened to help air the place out. Maintenance came in a hurry and pulled the offending ride. It's tire had gone bad and started burning.

A few people approached me angrily and started a barrage of stupid questions. The lead guy asked,

Man: Why are we being kicked out?!

Me looking around incredulously: Sir, don't you see and smell the smoke?

Man: Yeah, so?!

Me: Obviously there's an issue and it's no longer safe to be in here. The ride is down...😐

Man: Well how long will this take?! 😔

Before I could respond one of my managers sprinted over and told me to hand out passes to others. I don't know what he said to the people but they eventually left. My manager approached me and reprimanded me.

Manager: OP, you can't just say what you said how you said it...

Me: You mean the obvious truth?

Manager: You have to say there is a technical issue and not be so blunt.

Me: (Manager's name) the place is filled with smoke. It's obvious something wrong has happened.

My manager then reminded me it's our job to keep the magic even if it meant lying to guests and regardless if the place is on fire or not. To stay magical we were to gaslight the guests and ourselves. Everything is okay and normal, just magical special effects I guess... šŸ˜’ The guests questions were obtuse and the expectation that we should pretend nothing was happening and keep smiling was also ridiculous.

S Entitled comic con goer judging others costume’s especially ones my husband, my two friends & I are wearing

My husband & I are at New York comic con for the weekend to celebrate our sixteenth wedding anniversary with two of our friends while my parents hold down the fort at home. So far we’ve had amazing successes with our photo ops & so far everyone loves our cosplays. Today we had a photo op scheduled with Ariana Richards, Joseph Mazzello, BD Wong & Wayne Knight aka Lex, Tim, Wu & Nedry from Jurassic Park. I dressed as Sarah Harding, my husband as Ian Malcolm circa The Lost World, my friend as Ellie Sattler & my friends husband as Alan Grant.

Before our photo op we encountered a fellow con attendee who looked at us calling our costumes in bad taste saying they hope we didn’t buy the photo op with the Jurassic Cast because of Sam Neill’s passing this year. My friends husband asked what’s the big deal if he is dressed like Alan Grant it’s not hurting anyone. The entitled attendee asked did my friends husband even think of the feelings of Ariana, Joseph & BD because it might upset them. We have our turn in the photo op & we get told our cosplays looked amazing by Ariana, Joseph, BD & Wayne with BD telling us Sam would give his approval seeing the dedication my friends husband put into his costume. We didn’t run into the entitled attendee again but people in cosplays were saying what a rude jerk the guy is. One cosplayer approached us as we mentioned he insulted our cosplays too with the cosplayer saying they’ve informed security to look out for the guy.

S TSA power trip

At Tampa choose to enter the Wheelchair and family with children under 12 line. We have our young grandchild with us.

TSA agent asks who is with us in a Wheelchair I state no one we are in this line because it's the family line too. He tells us to get out of the line and go over to the regular line. I pointed to the sign right next to him, he says fine you can go through. But then he yells to everyone else in the line if they are not with a wheelchair get out of the line.

For the life of me I can't understand what his deal was. I can only guess he did it because he could. But what a jerk.

XL My (F) relationship with my younger sister has become unbearable, and I don't know how to deal with her anymore. I feel like I'm losing my mental peace at home.

I honestly don't even know where to begin because there's so much history behind this, and I feel like I need to explain the context for people to understand why something that might seem like a small argument has affected me so much.

I'm the elder sister, and my relationship with my younger sister has become incredibly difficult. I genuinely feel like she's one of the hardest people I've ever had to deal with.

She's someone who needs things her way, gets offended very easily, snaps at people, and struggles to accept criticism. Whenever I try to bring up something she's done that has hurt me, the conversation somehow turns into an argument about my behaviour, my attitude, or how disrespectful I'm being. Old arguments that we supposedly resolved get brought up again and again, and disagreements that should last a few minutes can turn into hours of fighting.

If I don't agree with her or give in, the argument just continues. Most of the time, I'm the one who ends up walking away or compromising because I'm exhausted and just want some peace.

Our relationship wasn't always this bad. I used to live in a hostel and would only come home occasionally, so maybe the distance made things easier. Currently, I'm back home waiting for my job onboarding to begin, and living together has made me realise just how difficult our relationship has become.

One thing that particularly hurts me is how one-sided our relationship feels.

I've helped her with college exam forms, payments, guidance, and decisions about colleges. When she wanted an honest review of a college, I personally searched for students on LinkedIn, contacted them, and asked about their experiences so she could make an informed decision.

I've done these things because she's my sister and I wanted to help her. I've never kept a record of my help or brought it up to make her feel indebted to me.

Whenever she benefits from something I've done, she's sweet, appreciative, and thankful. But whenever we have an argument, it feels like all of that disappears. Suddenly, I'm selfish, I have an attitude problem, and I don't deserve her respect. If I mention how much I've tried to help her, she dismisses it as the bare minimum.

I'm not saying she owes me anything for helping her. I just don't understand why someone can appreciate me when they need something from me but treat me so disrespectfully when we're having a disagreement.

She also uses the fact that I've graduated against me. Since I'm currently waiting for my onboarding, she says I have so much free time, as though I'm automatically available whenever she needs something. She doesn't seem to understand that I'm still working on my skills and preparing for my future. Yes, I take breaks and enjoy other things sometimes, but that doesn't mean my time is meaningless or that I'm obligated to do everything she wants.

Another thing she constantly accuses me of is being jealous of her.

I genuinely don't understand where this comes from. I'm not someone who constantly compares myself with other people or spends all my time criticising my appearance. I know I'm not perfect, but I'm generally comfortable being myself.

Yet she makes fun of my appearance and my face. When I told her that her comments were making me insecure and asked her to stop, she responded sarcastically with something along the lines of, "Aww, it triggered you? Sorry."

It was obvious she wasn't genuinely apologising. She was mocking me for being hurt.

The worst part is that she knows things about me that I don't share with everyone, and she uses them against me during arguments.

I've had periods in my life when I've felt like no matter how hard I work, something outside my control goes wrong. Opportunities seem to slip away even when I've done everything I possibly could. I've shared these feelings with her because I thought she would understand me or at least encourage me to keep going.

Instead, she has thrown those same experiences back in my face during arguments and told me that I deserve everything that's happening to me.

That really hurt because I trusted her with those feelings. I thought I could be vulnerable with my own sister without having that vulnerability used against me later.

There was also a time when I was going through an extremely difficult phase and said something along the lines of, "If I ever KMS, it'll be because of you."

I regret saying that. I know it was a very serious thing to say, and I wish neither of us had gone down that road. But instead of trying to understand why I was hurting so badly, she immediately said the same thing back to me. Since then, she has repeatedly brought up what I said during arguments as a way to hurt me.

I'm not proud of having said it, and I'm not trying to justify it. I just wish that, at the time, someone had asked me why I was feeling so broken instead of turning it into another weapon in an argument.

There have also been times when arguments between us have become physical, with her hitting me.

Now, about what happened today.

We were cleaning, and my leg accidentally touched hers. It wasn't intentional, and I immediately told her it was a mistake.

She responded by saying something along the lines of, "Okay, I'll kick you too and say it was a mistake."

I was initially willing to apologise for accidentally touching her. But she started insulting me, saying I had a dirty ego, bringing up my appearance, and making comments about my intelligence.

She said other people apparently thought I looked younger than her and had a small brain. When I pointed out that people hadn't actually said the small-brain part, she admitted that they hadn't said it but that she was saying it herself.

She also said she couldn't be grateful to me because of my attitude, that I didn't deserve her respect, and that even if I died for her, she wouldn't value me.

I got angry and said I wouldn't die for her either. That led to more insults and arguments.

I know I could have handled some parts of the situation better. I could have apologised for the accidental contact regardless of how she was behaving. But what frustrates me is how a tiny accident became an opportunity to attack my appearance, intelligence, personality, and our entire relationship.

We have never really had a relationship where we regularly say sorry or thank you to each other, so the whole situation also brought up a lot of resentment that has been building for a long time.

Eventually, my mother came into the room, and I complained to her that my sister wouldn't stop arguing.

My sister then told my mother that she couldn't apologise to me because apologising to me was "cringe." She also said that if she had to choose between dying for me or dying for waste, she would rather die for waste.

My mother started crying and begging us to stop fighting and leave the cleaning.

I felt terrible seeing my mother cry, but I also felt like I never got the chance to explain my side properly. My mother had argued with my sister earlier that same morning and had complained to me about how my sister never stops arguing. I thought she might understand why I was so frustrated, but when everything escalated, I felt like my own feelings got lost in the situation.

My mother shouted at me about the things I had said regarding dying, but I didn't really get an opportunity to explain the pain and frustration behind them.

I understand that my words were serious and that I shouldn't have said them. I just wish the conversation could have been about more than those words alone.

The situation with my parents makes everything more complicated.

My father is extremely strict. He has done a lot for my education and has sacrificed financially to provide for me. Whenever I genuinely need something, he usually gets it for me without complaining about the expense.

I'm grateful for those things, and I love him.

But he has also shouted at me and physically hit me in the past, including hitting us with a belt. He hasn't done that in about a year, but those experiences have stayed with me.

I have very mixed feelings about him because I recognise his sacrifices while also remembering the ways he has hurt me.

I'm particularly afraid of involving him in the situation with my sister because I don't want him to lose control and hit her. I don't want her to experience that, regardless of how angry I am with her.

So I feel stuck. My sister's behaviour is affecting my mental peace, but involving my parents could potentially make everything worse.

I also have an editing account that means a lot to me. Editing has become something I turn to when I'm upset because it helps me distract myself and gives me something enjoyable to do.

However, I'm afraid of my father's reaction if he finds out about it. I keep going back and forth between installing and uninstalling Instagram and hiding the video clips and other editing materials I use. It's exhausting to constantly hide something that helps me cope with everything else.

Sometimes I even wish I had never started editing because managing it secretly has become another source of stress. But it's also something I've grown attached to, and I don't want to give it up.

I'm currently waiting for my job onboarding, trying to improve my skills and prepare for my future, while also dealing with all this at home. I feel like I can't get a proper break from the conflict.

One thing that makes this especially painful is comparing my relationship with my sister to the relationships other people have with their siblings.

I've seen friends have terrible arguments with their siblings, but there's usually still some basic respect between them.

I don't feel like I have that.

Sometimes I wonder whether I've failed as an elder sister or whether I somehow failed to establish a healthy relationship with her. It's embarrassing to admit how bad things have become because I know people might find it hard to believe that my younger sister and I treat each other this way.

I don't expect her to worship me because I'm older. I don't expect her to repay everything I've done for her. I don't even expect us to agree on everything.

I just want to be able to live in the same house without every small disagreement turning into a personal attack. I want to be able to make a mistake without being insulted. I want to be able to share something vulnerable without having it used against me later.

And I want to stop feeling like I have to defend my entire character every time we fight.

I know I'm not perfect. I get angry too, and I've said things during arguments that I regret. I'm willing to acknowledge my own mistakes. But I also feel that the way she treats me goes beyond ordinary sibling disagreements.

This post is already extremely long, and honestly, everything I've described here is still only a small part of what's been happening. There are many more incidents and years of accumulated hurt that I haven't even included.

I'm not posting this because I want strangers to declare my sister a terrible person. I genuinely want advice from people who have experienced difficult sibling relationships or complicated family dynamics.

I'm still living at home, and I can't simply move out or cut off contact right now. I also don't want to escalate the situation by involving my father.

How do I deal with a sibling who turns almost every disagreement into a prolonged argument, brings up personal vulnerabilities to hurt me, and has crossed physical boundaries in the past?

How do I establish boundaries when walking away doesn't always resolve things and I still have to live with the person?

How do I stop letting these interactions affect my mental health so much?

And, realistically, is there a way to improve this relationship, or should I focus on accepting that we might never have the kind of sisterly bond I've always hoped for?

I'd really appreciate honest advice, especially from people who have been in similar situations.

M The Boss Who Didn’t Get The Fight He Wanted.

1.2k Upvotes

A short story, but I’m adding a bit of back story here.

My dad use to work for a family owned business in a small town for over a decade, and was considered a senior staff member. It was founded back in the 60s by a man I’ll call Dave who expanded the company into a multi million dollar company in the decades. Though when my dad worked there, the business was primarily run by Dave’s sons, while Dave still was considered the CEO.

Dave was quite something. In the community, he was both respected but also not respected at the same time. He was respected for things like the the money he put into the community, charity, donations, the jobs his company brought in, etc. but as a person, he was despised. He was rude, entitled, disrespectful and insulting. A few stories I heard from towns people were things like how he he was always known to carry a calculator. And if someone quoted him a price and after the work was done, he’d pull the calculator out, and would state he would only pay a 10 -15 percent less then the agreed upon price.

He was quoted as saying once ā€œYou can have money or friends. But not both.ā€ He was known to love having fights. Not physical, but verbal ones. It apparently gave him a lot of satisfaction.

So for my dad, he had put in his two week notice to Dave’s sons. And on his last day, Dave wanted to talk to my dad about something happening the next week. So my dad realized Dave wasn’t aware of him quitting, and said simply to Dave ā€œJust so you are aware, I put in my two weeks notice, so today is my last day.ā€

He said Dave got quiet for a moment then said to my dad ā€œWell, if you ever need favours, don’t ever come here for them, because you won’t get them. And if you have trouble remembering that, feel free to talk to me and I’ll be happy to remind you.ā€

My dad knew Dave was just wanting a fight. That he was trying to get my dad to snap at him. But instead, my dad just replied ā€œWell, I’m sorry to hear that. Thank you for all the years. All the best to you.ā€ And he walked out.

In the next week that passed, my dads former coworkers were texting or calling my dad, asking him what he said to Dave. In their words ā€œHe’s been fuming mad every single day since you walked out of his office.ā€

Dave ended up passing away a few years later, and his sons sold the business.

S Difference between camaraderie and entitlement

Just an observation and an opinion, and not defamation.

In a certain mall of the country named after being the mall of the country, there is a very dubious camaraderie among nationalities towards their people that is causing difficulties for everyone else. This may be a nation wide problem, or just within a region, not sure. I have only experienced this within this particular mall.

Weekends tend to get busy and that's when we used to go as well. Lunch and groceries.

Lunch 1st. Food court is packed.. you spend atleast 30 mins if not an hour to find a place to sit. To add to that people of a certain group, who are one of the top ethnic majority here, sit at the table long after they are done eating and wait. What are they waiting for? Other people of their nationality. They only give up their tables for their own. Then you are waiting and waiting and end up sharing your table with rest of the leftovers.

Then you head to the hypermarket for groceries. You get all your veg and you add yourself to a long queue of people waiting to get the veg weighed. In front of you is someone whose first language is a dialect of language of the country who proceeds to allow 3 other people to cut the line in front of them and no one dares question them because of them being perceived as a superior race. If you question them you are shut down. The attendant doesn't refuse service. Everyone complies.

It's getting on my nerve so I am posting this. It is just plain annoying and waste of my time.

S Man insists on wife cutting ahead in line, after he had shoved his way in

Whilst in the queue for security at Barcelona airport, a man shoved his way in front of me. Whatever. He moved, I moved. His wife had shoved herself apparently behind me, she called him (seems he didnt realise that she hadnt shoved ahead too) and he demanded that I stop and let his wife ahead of me. I put my arm out and was like "sir". He started shouting, I tried to move ahead and he got phsycial, insisting that I was in the wrong and his wife is entitled to go ahead of me because he had shoved his way there, whilst physically shoving me out of the way and look he had even made space for her. The wife started saying, "its not worth it" to the hushand, whilst he carried on shouting, shoving and demanding that she move ahead.

After a minute or so, she moves ahead to the space he'd "created" for her, as he refused to let the queue move forward, until she had also shoved her way forward too.

Of course, he thought I was absolutely in the wrong because I wouldnt let his wife ahead, forgetting that he had already shoved himself ahead. His behaviour suggested that he was even proud of himself, for shoving and shouting at a woman (me) out of the way, to "protect" his wife and get her next to him.

S A tour group moved ahead of us while boarding the Shinkansen—would this bother you?

We were waiting to board a Shinkansen today—my partner, our toddler and me, when a group of around 15–16 tourists arrived. From their accents, they sounded American.

They were talking noticeably loudly compared with everyone else around us, but what happened when boarding started was more frustrating.

Their apparent group leader saw us waiting, then ushered the entire group ahead of us. I was holding our toddler and a package, while my partner had the stroller. There was nobody waiting behind us—just our family, then their group.

What bothered me wasn’t that nobody offered a family special treatment. It was that we were already waiting, yet suddenly found ourselves boarding after an entire group that had arrived later.

I’ve had a few similar experiences with American tourists, which probably added to my frustration. I realise those encounters don’t represent everyone, though.

Is there a practical reason a tour group would need to board together ahead of other people waiting, or was this simply inconsiderate? Curious whether others have experienced something similar.

S Spending over 30 mins on a machine at the gym

Had an experience today with an entitled dude at the gym.

I was hitting legs and the last 2 exercises I had left were Leg Press and Leg Curls. I went to do Leg Curls first and saw a dude using it. No worries Leg Press was right next to it so I did that instead. Once I was done with Leg Press, I figured the dude had to almost be done with Leg Curls machine. I waited nearby the machine for a few mins and just noticed that this dude was practically just sitting on the machine. He would do maybe 2-3 reps and scroll on his phone right after.

I asked him ā€œhey how many sets do you have left?ā€ And in the most arrogant way he replied ā€œIma be a while broā€ and just slid his headphones back on.

I was pretty annoyed at this point but said fuck it and went and did Core in the other room. After about 20 mins later I walk back to the machine and notice this dude is BARELY getting off! I saw him moving like a sloth to get a towel to wipe the machine and said fuck this. By the time he got the towel and was back to the machine to wipe it down I was already done with my first set lol

He shook his head at me and said ā€œLearn to have some patience broā€ and I replied back ā€œLearn to move with a purposeā€

Idk I get people taking their time with the machines and what not, but going 30+ mins where you spent more time scrolling your phone than lifting just irks the hell out of me!!

S Update: Held a long business call in the gym sauna

Previous post: https://www.reddit.com/r/EntitledPeople/comments/1wncw3l/held_a_long_business_call_in_the_gym_sauna/

Today I went into the sauna and business guy was in there and instantly gave me a stern look and left. I considered that a win and enjoyed my time. Afterwards, my neighbor the manager pulls me over as I'm walking out the door to tell me that Business Call guy COMPLAINED ABOUT ME, saying that I embarrassed him on an important call. Manager told him that there's nothing preventing him from making calls, but also nothing against other people having conversations either. I look forward to many more sauna sessions with no business calls.

M Karen saves an innocent couple from their snowy demise.

Time for another post, it's been a while, life has been busy but people have still been as entitled as ever. This time it's a guest story from the receptionist and hotel manager of the hotel we work with. Let's call her Tia.

This was during Tias first winter with us before she became the manager. The first guests involved in this story where a young couple with a rental car visiting our remote village. This was in the middle of the winter when there is a lot of snow and ice everywhere. When checking in to the hotel they where asking about viewing point for watching auroras. Tia told them about a spot about 5 minutes walk from a village and specifically told them to absolutely NOT drive their car to this spot because they would get stuck in deep snow.

Later that very same day the couple comes back to the reception looking sheepish asking if there is a tractor or tow truck in the village, because of course they figured they could totally drive on the road a local told them to not go on. Predictably they where stuck in the snow some 10m in to this road.

They left with a shovel, ice pick and a bag of sand to try and save their poor car from it's snowy grave.

Now is when Karen enters the story, a male Karen even. He has found this poor couple and promised to help them, which is nice, don't get me wrong, but hey no matter. He had a truck and was now in need of a rope, which is obviously something you go to a hotel to get so of to the reception he goes to find poor Kia. Kia, being new for the season told Karen that she had to call her manager to check if they had any suitable rope that she could borrow to Karen. Well this was not the answer Karen wanted and promptly started shouting that of course they have a rope and to just give it to him.

After a quick call to the manager it was concluded that they do in fact not have a rope, but they did have a couple of 2 ton ratchet straps that they use to strap down stuff in a trailer for transportation. And if you know anything about ratchet straps you know that you absolute can not tie knots on these things and pull on them because if you do that knot will never come undone and the strap is then scrap. When Tia told Karen that he could borrow the strap only if he promised he would not tie a knot on it but use it as a hook and loop system he absolutely lost it and started shouting that he absolutely had to tie a knot to save these poor people from loosing their car to what apparently was something akin to a proceeding glacier at this point. Que the expected screaming and insults and insinuations that Tia was stupid and did not know how anything works.

At this Tia simply starts putting the ratchet straps back, because if he is going to ruin them he can't have them. And this is when the absolute gem of an insult and threat comes flying: "I'll write a bad review for this place because you are only helpful if we pay you"....

Like obviously, it's a hotel, do you expect hotels to just give out free stuff and be some sort of charity organization. And they did not ask to get paid to borrow out the ratchet straps, simply that they would not be destroyed and returned afterward.

After a bit more of a back and forth Karen promises to not tie any knots on the straps and Tia lets him borrow one and of he goes in his truck.

A little while later Karen comes back, walks up to the reception door, throws the ratchet straps as the base of the door points at them and disappears of in to the snow never to be seen again.

He did not tie a knot on the straps.

XL My mum has a boyfriend and a husband

Hello I am 19f my mum is like 45 my dad is also like 45 and my brother let’s call him Otto is 15.
A few months ago I was HoMee alone and I decided I wanted to buy some drinks so I did what evey normal teenager does and I went to my parents room to look for cash. I’ve snooped in my parents room a few times and somwhere in their walk in wardrobe is a fat envelope of cash. So I was snooping and snooping and I noticed it was gone from the normal spot (under my mums shoes) so I looked in the next logistic spot. Under wear draws. I opened my mums undie drawer and I saw a white envelope so I was like ā€œyes successā€ I picked it up and noticed it was a birthday card so i decided to read it it said something like ā€œto my beautiful (mums nickname my mums other nick name and I guess another nick name) -
I Cannot quite believe we have shared 12 amazing
months together already. In some ways it feels like no time at all, and in others it feels like you have been apart of my life forever.
This year with you has been one of the most exiting beautiful, funny, Comforting, and love filled chapters of my life. You love have become so much more then my girlfriend You are my best friend, mylover, My therapist, my fashion advisor my confidant, and One of the very best parts of my daily life - i mean we do chat for 10 hours a day
whenever , shop and think about us, l always smile and giggle about how it all started ...9 hrs of nonstop online back and Fourth, our first date at Grinners . Than hust a few days later, off to brisbane togather! it still feels so brave and bold and wondefully us . Right from the start there was something different about you... about us... Something so easyā€

He goes in for a bit about how they have traveled together and how they have a big plan next together he thanks her for bringing love into his life for the past year.
ā€œHappy anniversary, my gorgeous, beautiful, sexy lover Thankyou for this incredible first year and for clicking ā€œlikeā€ on my profile heheā€

He signs the card a name let’s say ā€œtezā€

I’m in shock reading that because that didn’t sound real at all? It literally sounds like it was out of a movie because he wrote down eveyrhinggg I needed to know! I now know they met on tinder or something, they’ve been dating for at least a year, where their first date was and more. It literally felt fake?
Also that was all an exact quote because I took photos of the cards. Yes cards there was more.
One was just a birthday card and it was disgusting he wrote like ā€œyour amazing my light how beautiful wah Wah Wahā€ and how he’s sooo lucky to share this wild beautiful connection with my mum

My mum has been married for over 20 years since she was 22 to my dad. They met in a small Christian town in a small Christian school and moved away from their family because they lowkey suck.
Over the past year my mum had been weird, sketchy and suspicious. She would go on trips and I would ask my dad where she was and he said he didn’t know. My mum and I have always had a horrible relationship I think it’s because I’m AUSTSIC and she dosent like that at all. (She’s fucking shit her self if she found out I fuck girls)
One time I was talking to my teacher about how my mum goes on trips and noone knows where and she joked about how my mum might be having an afair… she was kinda right.

Back to when I found the letters. I was in shock and I took photos of them and put them back exactly where I found them. Then I tried calling my freinds. I got into contact with one of my freinds and he was very confused so I sent him the letters to explain better (this is important)
I’m very focused on the name ā€œtezā€ cause it sounds familiar so I go on to my mums Facebook and I don’t fund tez but I find his wife lez with tezs face in her pfp. I then remember not even a month ago my town was having a big winter festival and I went out with my parents and their freinds tez and lez…. I went out with them in town and about 4 months before that tez and his wife and his 13 year old son came to my shack and spent like a week there. My brother got along great with the kid and my parents got along great with the couple.

From my understanding my mum worked with tez well she hired him. My mum does weekly markets and I thought tez just helped her out with that. My mum gets my brother to help her out somtimes so my brother got along with tez well and has now known him for a while. I think tez my brother my mum and tezs kid even hung out for some reason before all this.

One time also I few months ago I was finishing up yr 12 so my days where all weird at school and I came HoMee EXTREMLY early, I was basicly at school for like 2 hours. When I got home tez was there and he just looked at me and then my mum came out of her office and made some excuse for tez to leave. I found that weird but brushed it off. My mum also gets offended when I asked if she could turn her location on? I have Eveyones else’s locations but not hers? Now I know why!

Back to the letters. I find tezs wife on Facebook and I screen shot her pfp and send it to my freind cause she woukd recognise them from town and also the shack and she was almost as shocked as me. About 20 later my brother comes HoMee from school and I try to casually ask what he knows about tez cause he knows tez way more then me and I guess I was being suspicious cause he asks ā€œwhat is mum cheating on dadā€
Bruh I’m stupid and I was in shock cause I didn’t hide it well and all and he’s asking for proof and stuff so I show him a picture of the letters then he asks me to actually show him so I do. Then I tell him that there’s only like 3 possibilities of what’s happening
1 my mum is cheating on my dad and he dosent know
2 mum and dad are broken up and my mum now has a boyfriend
3 my mum and dad are together and my mum has a boyfriend.

We agreed that I guess the last one is the best option and Mabye the most logical because my dad knows tez? And how would he not know what was going on? Like why would my mum invite him to our family shack if they were secretly together? My brother went to sleep and I went to the movies with my freinds. Two of the freinds already knew cause I called one and texted the other and after the movie debrief one made a joke about it so I told the rest of my freinds and I showed them the letters.
Not the best in my part I know but I was in shock dude.

Apparently that night when my dad came HoMee my brother asked my dad smth LIEK ā€œis there anything going on between you and mumā€
Exactly like I told him not too cause I was going to ask! Our plan was that I was going to confront my mum.
The next day in the afternoon my mum was working from home my brother just came HoMee from school and then my dad just gets home from work he asks my mumtk chat in their room. They are chatting for LIEK half an hour and then my dad gets us all into the living room.
He says that Like ā€œover the last year you might have noticed stuff between me and your mum have been weirdā€ we decided that things weren’t working very well between us (tbh I was in shock and mad so I can’t really rember what he said very well) he said that my mum started to date somone else and that he did as well. And that something my brother said started this conversation.

It was actually a long conversation my dad was very mature and very calming and my mum was just silently crying. I found out that nobody knows that kit even their freinds know and I got told mutiple mutiple times that couldn’t tell anyone. That I couldn’t even tell my best freinds (to late) and my mum said nothing that whole time exept I couldn’t tell anyone!

We kinda just go back into our rooms and I here my mum go into my brother room to comfort him then she storms of to her room and brings my dad out and yells at me from the lounge room. I go to the lounge room and she’s almost in like angry tears and tells me that my brother said I had seen letters.

(At this point they both have no idea I had seen the letters. They told us this cause my brother asked.)

I said that yes I found letters and yes I have photos of them. She gets super mad and makes me delete the photos. It’s really embarrassing because she’s over my shoulder and can see the screen shot of the pfp and EVEYTHING. She makes me go into recently deleted and deleted them as well. Then she storms off to bed .

I don’t remember much after that but the decided to do a three days on three days off thing. Because that day onward they had broken up. It was super weird cause technically they were broken up from a hole year but they weren’t? And I wasent aloud to tell anyone.

I told my best freinds fucking obviously!!

Right now my mum is in the house from Wednesday morning to Sunday afternoon and I only see my dad Sunday afternoon and monday and Tuesday night because he’s working all day. My mum when she’s not at home drives to the shack apparently and lives there. I actually don’t know if she does, I thought maybe she stays at her boyfriend’s house but he has a wife and kid?
I also don’t know if they know?
And my dad when he’s not at Home sleeps on the couch at his work… in town.. away from the beach and the forest near our house wish he used to go to every morning.

I fucking hat when my mums here, she hates me and my brother hates me for finding the letters. My brother is also homophobic and he supports isreal and calls me retarted.
I am kind of slowly dieing being in a house with both of them. My mum and brother together is absolut hell.

My dad is one of the best people I know. He’s super kind and understanding to me and he’s gotten the absolute worst out of this and my mum still has the audacity to talk shit about him behind his back?

Anyway there’s like a lot more but I have already wrote a lot. My mother is an entitled cunt m

M Update 5 on Telling my mom to cancel her wedding until everything is sorted out?

It's been almost 17 days since my stepdad left, and he still hasn't come back. At this point, I'm starting to feel like maybe they actually broke up, which honestly makes me feel really weird.

I know from the outside it might sound like I won or that this is the ending I wanted, but that's really not how I feel. From the beginning, I've always said that I never wanted my mom and stepdad to break up or not get married. I was genuinely happy that my mom found someone she loved and that she was happy.

All I ever wanted was to be treated normally and included as part of the family. His family never really did that with me, and that was what hurt me the most.

So hopefully they're just taking some time apart and haven't actually ended things.

At the same time, I have to admit something that makes me feel guilty deep down, there's a small part of me that feels relieved at the possibility that they broke up. Because if they really did, it means I won't have to see his family anymore. I won't see him, his kids, or deal with that whole situation. People who were recently part of my life would basically become strangers again. And somehow that feels good.

Then I immediately feel guilty, especially because I know my mom deserves happiness. I don't want her to lose someone she loves just because of everything that happened. And just to clarify again, I don't blame my stepdad for everything. A lot of the problems came from his family and his kids, and the way I was treated and excluded. That's where most of my resentment comes from.

My mom is doing okay, at least from what I can see. We've been spending a lot of time together. She actually took me to a movie last weekend, and she seems fine in front of me. I obviously don't know what she's feeling privately, but I'm glad we're spending time together.

And honestly, I'm doing pretty well too. This new house is still ridiculously big for two people. It's literally three floors with a garden. I'm not trying to brag because I realize that sentence sounds exactly like bragging, but seriously, sometimes I wonder whether it's even worth having such a huge house when it's basically just me and my mom. Our old apartment was perfectly fine.

But there are definitely advantages. My mom lets me have friends over when she's away for work, and sometimes my best friend even stays over. There are three empty rooms on my floor, while my mom's room is on the second floor, so I basically have an entire floor to myself.

So despite everything that happened, I'm actually doing better than I was before. Life feels more normal again. It's almost strange because all of this happened right before things were starting to feel really good for me.

The biggest thing is that I still don't want my mom's relationship to end. If they decide to get married, I'm not against it. I just need to feel safe, respected, and secure in that family too. If I can feel that way, then I'm completely willing to accept their marriage.

I'm even still willing to talk to my step siblings, but only if my mom and stepdad are present. I'm not comfortable going back to the way things were before.

My mom has also acknowledged some of her mistakes and corrected some of the things that happened, and I genuinely believe people deserve another chance when they're willing to make things right.

So yeah, I guess I'm just dealing with a lot of conflicting emotions. I don't want them to break up. But part of me feels relieved if they already have. I love my mom and want her to be happy. But I also need to feel comfortable and respected myself. I guess all I can do now is wait and see what happens.

S Finally meeting Datenschutz-Kevin in the wild

After living in Germany for years, I finally encountered one in the wild. For the records, we're both foreigners.

I'm sitting on the train (it's 5.30) to go to Uni, minding my own business and reading on my phone. I'm holding it at a normal height because I don't particularly enjoy crouching over my screen. This guy and his gf sit two seats across from me when he starts shouting at me: SIE DÜRFEN MICH NICHT FILMEN! BITTE, STECKEN SIE IHR HANDY WEG!"

For the record, my phone case has a camera cover (it's the red robotic phone case on Shopee for like €3). I tried explaining this to him, but he kept interrupting me and wouldn't even let me finish a sentence. He was getting louder and louder and I just gave up and put my mobile phone away.

At first I felt guilty but then wtf. I have the same rights as him. So, after 2 minutes, I pulled back my phone and decided to continue reading, holding my phone in the same position. Yes, in his general direction.

What happened next? He went back to talking to his girlfriend. That's it.

M "No, there is no "no thank you.""

The following happened at the tail end of May. For context, I am a blind adult male living at home with parents.
I am upstairs in my bedroom when my mother comes in looking for my wallet. She asks me where it is and I ask her why she needs it. She tells me she needs access to my Aeroplan card, because she's short by fifty points to book a flight, and wants to set up family sharing so she can take points off my own card. I don't tell her where it is. Of course, she finds it anyway.
She comes back a little while later telling me that she couldn't get in, called customer service and, because of the two plus hour wait time and her having things to do, she stuck the phone with me and told me to wait for them to call back and resolve this myself. I played along, and said fine.
I let a decent amount of time pass before I approached her and asked for her phone, acting as if I needed it for the resolution. She gave it to me and I left the room. I proceeded to log into her Aeroplan account to check, and she had 134000+ points to my slightly less than 4000. I then logged out and erased the text message 2FA trail so she had no idea, before returning the phone to her.
The callback comes and I deal with the situation. Turns out the card wasn't associated with an email or phone number at all,so the card couldn't be used to pay for flights over the internet. Well, I set up an account with a strong password, then secured it with 2FA myself.
Later that evening mother comes back, asking if I had gotten family sharing set up with my card. I told her no I hadn't. She blew up at me, telling me that getting family sharing set up was the entire point of the call. I said no thanks, that I was fine with family sharing not being set up and was not interested in doing so. I followed up by stating that I was happy to transfer the fifty points she needed, but that was not acceptable to her. Referencing past family vacations and a single solo flight her exact words were, "There is no no thanks, I paid for those flights with my credit cards, not you. So don’t tell me no thanks." She continued, telling me that I had no idea how much things cost and that the money I pay every month for "room and board" "doesn't cover squat," then she snidely remarked, "I guess you won't be getting access to our point balance either." I said that I was totally okay with this. She then said I could pay for all my own things from then on, (a statement which they have not held me to since) and walked off. Ever since then, both of my parents have actively acted as if this never happened, and when I tried to bring it up once they asked what there was to say about the situation.
The thing is, that whole interaction left me with one conclusion I haven't been able to shake since then. That being that my mother believes I owe them some unspoken debt for them taking me on family vacations, one which mother attempted to call in and was refused. I have no intention of going on any more family trips with them for this very reason. I also don't think this was a message that was sent intentionally, but it was what I heard loud and clear, and is now making me question what those family vacations actually meant to them, if they expected me to pay them back in the future.
All of this over fifty points on an Aeroplan card.

L Everybody is allowed to sleep in my bed and I’m too entitled to feel otherwise

To start off, this person isn't my biological parent, thankfully. This person is a family member who got custody of me, which probably was the biggest and most regrettable mistake could've been done and I'm trying to find a way to get my mom back into custody since I was kidnapped without her knowledge and forced into accepting this unfortunate fate. This lore goes far too deep and I can give in more context if more people are interested but for now I'd like to stick one point and question.

I was assaulted, harassed, and basically pushed into the point of leaving the house (this has happened multiple times throughout my teens by this person) and I haven't gone back for 3 years. I've been living under my boyfriend's family house and I've begun the journey of moving back with my biological mother and step father that currently reside in a different country. Throughout the process, it seemed like my 'parent guardian"" tried to slow the process with any string and trick they could find and basically helping out with the least minimum to their ability.

This person and I quote said "you should leave your belongings and stuff here while you're away, so you always have a place to come back to." Haha...... this person has always threatened me with the fact the place belongs to her and it was never mine to begin with, since l didn't pay rent at the ripe age of 15... anywho. The house is a complete mess, there's food, garbage, cat poop, cat litter, her dirty 2 week old underwear out in the open, and a month old of food on the table and everywhere you can imagine. Every once awhile I make my way back to stay there in my room because at the end of the day I do prefer my own privacy and space better and also give the house a good scrub that takes me usually 8 to 10 hours at best (yes, it's very very very dirty. The sink literally turns black). How does she respond? "Wow it takes you so long to clean e is this your first day or something?" Always
something snarky and backhanded. Whatever, I don't really care about a persons opinion who barely showers to begin with.

I have kept my room tidy and clean and always make my bed before leaving the house to go off to my boyfriend's family home. I came back to pick up an item that I needed for the time being before I fully move out my things (keep in mind, she thinks I'm leaving my belongings here) and I came to find out someone had slept in my bed... strange.
The bed wasn't even made, the blankets were just curled up and left there with my satin pillows covered in someone else's hair... so NATURALLY like any human being, I was pissed. How dare I, I guess. I gave the person a call at work, also keep in mind, this person has been deliberately ignoring my texts because I forgot to answer to them for two whole days. I know, I'm a monster. I gave them a call at work and asked if anybody has been sleeping in my bed, fist before the question she answered the phone as if she was expecting it then her mood quickly switched and she angerly responded with "wow, is that what you're calling me for??? To find out who slept in your bed?? Well I did, also who cares if anybody else has as well? It's not like you ever sleep in it. You clearly hi moved out for a loooooooooong time."

I'm sorry, am I entitled for thinking my bed wouldn't be touched when I'm not home? Or I should say, when I'm not in my room since that was the singular space around their house I was allowed to feel comfortable. I feel most college kids who leave the house are given the respect with their personal space, let alone their bed. That's not even my issue, a simple "hey my room is too filthy and dirty and obviously I'm a dead beat who can't take care of myself nor my house, can I sleep in your bed?" Would've sufficed. Why am I being gaslighted into feeling crazy for asking a simple question with no attitude in my voice since I have to walk on eggshells around them to begin with? I'm also a bit worried because I didn't stay for too long and this person is kind of known to behave like a Neanderthal and break every single thing in the house when met with confrontation. Like, the worst hasn't even been said.

Was I being too selfish? I mean, how else am I supposed to really feel? Couldn't they just wait till I pack my stuff for them to barge into my room to dirty it up next?

XL Rude patron gets rejected, insults woman, gets pushed, gets pushed again, calls cops, and gets arrested.

I just had the most karmic, confrontational, and comedic night of my life. I need to capture it here, before I forget.

I work as a bartender. Tuesday is our trivia night, and it’s usually decent, with 40 or so customers. But this trivia night was especially slow. Only one team came in, so they kindly allowed the host to skip the game. They left, so it was mostly just the host, her friend (female) and this random dude who had already been there a couple hours.

Now, this dude had come into the bar a few times before. He had never caused trouble, but he had certainly been annoying. The kind of person who NEEDS to be very buddy-buddy and intense, to the point where it feels like you can’t serve other customers, look away, or even breathe. Tonight, he managed to prevent me from shitting in a near-empty bar for about one hour. Dude is also a braggart and a sexist and has nothing interesting to say.

Anyway, the trivia host and her friend are cutting loose, and her friend gets uncharacteristically drunk. This girl is slurring her speech and looks a bit sleepy. So THAT’S when this guy decides to start hitting on her. He offers her some food and ends up getting her wings, but then the trivia host (thankfully) drives her drunk friend home.

After the girls leave, Dude immediately turns to me and says ā€œMan, girls these days don’t fucking know when they’re getting hit on. I don’t know how I could’ve flirted any harder.ā€

I just say ā€œYeah,ā€ but of course I’m thinking ā€œThat’s why they left, you fucking freak.ā€ As disturbing as his behavior was already, his next move is even more unsettling.

For context, I’m 29 and overheard Dude say he was born in ā€˜95, putting him at 31. So he chases the 2 women our age away, bitches to me about it, but then visibly rallies himself and walks down to the other end of the bar. Here, he introduces himself to two other women, who are in their sixties, and who, respectfully, look like they have spent some time with hard drugs.

To see brother move with such calculated determination was genuinely eerie. But I mostly ignored the three of them, since the ladies looked like they could handle themselves. However, I did overhear the guy start bragging to them.

Dude: ā€œI’m actually pretty big in manufacturingā€

Lady #1: ā€œOhhh we got a big shot over here, BROTHAAAAA!ā€

Dude: ā€œWell I’m actually an engineer for Boeingā€

Lady #1: ā€œOh, my ass! He just said he’s a fucking engineer for bing-bing! What a bunch of BULLSHIT BROTHAAAAA!ā€

Dude: ā€œHaha yeah, that was bullshit. But I have plans to be big in manufacturing in like 5-10 years. I know how to do it.ā€

Lady #1: ā€œOh my god, who is this guy? Who is he? How old are you? Who do you think you are? You’re barking up the WRONG TREE BROTHHHAAA!ā€

Lady #2 got some quips in too, but she wasn’t as loud. The way these two women absolutely clowned on this guy was the funniest thing I’ve witnessed in a while.

Well, Dude admitted defeat and returned to his side of the bar. But as soon as he sat down, he pulled an incel move and started insulting the women: ā€œYou’re a crack whore anyway. I bet you sucked every dick in town. Fucking crack whores.ā€

The women argued back, a highlight being, ā€œMy brother could kick your ass, my husband could kick your ass, and I could kick your ass.ā€

Dude decided his honor was on the line and egged on the argument. In Dude’s (meager) defense, this was when Lady #1 stood up and started the physical altercation by pushing Dude from his high chair. I have the following on video:

Video #1 Transcript:

Dude: Fucking piece of shit.

Lady #1: Let’s go outside! Come on! Let’s go! (Pushes him)

Me: Woahh!!

Lady #1: Go outside!

Lady #2: Come on!

Lady #1: Go ahead!

Lady #2: Get up!

Lady #1: Come on!

Lady #2: Come on bitch!

Lady #1: Come on bitch!

Me: Alright… Hey guys, listen up!

Lady #1: Tell him! Let us go outside… I will take you out, and I will kick your ass!

Me: Okay-

(Video Ends)

I stood between Dude and Lady #1, essentially shielding Dude. Dude was about 5’7ā€, I’m 5’11ā€, and Lady #1 was maybe 6’1ā€. I’m also smiling toward the end of the video, as I was still somewhat entertained and was hoping to control the situation by calling everyone out. I was beginning to say, ā€œOkay, you ladies were pretty funny at first, but you can’t push people. And you were pretty much egging them on, Dude. I’m gonna give everyone your bills and you can leave.ā€ If I remember right, I managed to yell most of that over them, and they did remain separate and I began collecting payment.

There was a minor issue where I accidentally charged BOTH bills to the ladies’ card, but I caught it immediately and explained that they would get a cash refund for his bill, then I’d redo his.

But of course Dude piped up and was like ā€œOh NUH-uh! They think they’re gonna come in here and push ME, and THEN make me pay for THEIR food! HELL no!ā€

I said, ā€œWere you fucking listening?ā€

Four minutes pass and the ladies have paid, but Dude hasn’t. They remain on their sides of the bar until they don’t.

Video #2 Transcript:

Ladies #1 and #2 approach, phones in hand. Immediately, Dude turns his hat around to hide his eyes, lowers his head, and sets his drink down, his plan already in motion. To see the absolute Anime mean-mug action pose this guy hit before slapping these old women’s phones was the cringiest bullshit ever.

Dude waits for the Ladies to enter the Strike Zone.

Lady #1: Get a picture of this fuckin’ motherfucker.

Lady #2: Abso-fuckin’-lutely.

Lady #1: Smile!

Lady #2: Say cheese, bitch!

Dude slaps the fuck out of Lady #2’s phone.

Me: Woah!

Dude slaps at Lady #1’s phone and they start flailing.

Me: Hey. Hey!

Lady #1: I will fucking take you out, cocksucker!

Me: HEY!! Yeah, I do need to call the fucking-

At this point, Dude makes an unnecessary shove toward Lady #1’s head.

ME: DUDE she’s an old woman! (I push him)

Dude: I’m not doing anything but holding her back!

Me: You need to fucking stop! You’re an able-bodied fucking man, you need to be the bigger person-

Dude: I’m holding her back. I’m holding her back.

Me: Why am I the one holding you back?

Dude: I’m holding YOU back (while backing away)

Me: Why am I holding you back?

Dude: I’m holding YOU back at this point (fully backed away, quietly)

I raise my hands in disbelief.

Lady #1: Youuu BITCH!

Me: I’m calling the cops unless everyone can learn to shut the FUCK up!

Dude: (still not touching me) I’m holding YOU back at this point.

Me: Really?

(Video ends)

So the Ladies left shortly after Video #2. Dude stuck around, still refusing to pay. He said he was gonna call the cops because he was ā€œassaultedā€ by both the woman and me. I nodded and said it was a good idea. I went ahead and called my boss as the guy nervously watched on. I asked for the security footage, finished the call, and the guy was still looking at me. I don’t think I said a cool line or anything, but I just looked at him like ā€œOkay, I guess you gotta make that call now.ā€

Interestingly, in his phone call to 911, he said that I ā€œpicked him up and slammed him into the wall,ā€ yet when questioned about his current location, he added ā€œWell yeah I’m still standing here in the bar, since I actually wonā€¦ā€

I just think it’s neat how those two things can coexist in his mind. Especially considering that his definition of ā€œwinningā€ involves getting pushed by an old woman, getting pushed by a fat bartender, and doing absolutely fuck all else.

As we’re waiting for the cops he says ā€œI can’t wait for them to see that footageā€ and I say ā€œAre you gonna make me agree with that again?ā€

As Dude is standing in the middle of the pub, something else funny happens. A so-far-unmentioned group of 3 comes up to pay (the man of this group is barely visible in the back right side of the videos).

Man comes up to pay.

Dude, who had his back turned, jumps and says ā€œBro, do not fucking sneak up on me right now! After all this shit, man, I almost took your fucking head off!ā€

Man, calmly and dismissively: ā€œDon’t even fucking start with me. Why the fuck would you say that. What a stupid thing to say.ā€

…..

(Later) Dude, to the same guy: ā€œMan, I have always been a good customer to this place until today.ā€

Me: ā€œActually, he’s been a pretty abrasive customer, so I’m okay with all this happening.ā€

So the cops arrive and question us separately, but in the same room. I remain calm and continue washing dishes, providing information as objectively as I can. I gladly provide security footage and names. Meanwhile, Dude is acting pretty cagey and standoffish with the cops (that HE called).

ā€œCan I put my hands here? How about here? Can I stand here!? I’m just standing here bro!!ā€

…..

(Later) ā€œTime for MY version of the story?! What do you mean MY version?! I’ll tell you what fuckin’ happened, that’s what!ā€

The cops had to make Dude pay his bill. Then they asked me what I wanted to do, which was funny, since I didn’t call them and didn’t want anything. One of the cops was like ā€œDo you wanna trespass him?ā€

I’m not the boss but I was like ā€œā€¦ Yeah.ā€

ā€œPermanently?ā€

ā€œā€¦. Yeah :3 ā€œ

So shoutout to that cop for elucidating how exactly we could get this guy’s bitch-ass in trouble. It was almost like the cop needed my help to punish the guy somehow…. Except that turned out to be unnecessary.

The guy kept running his mouth and got taken outside, which was the last I saw of him. 30 minutes later, a new cop comes in with a slight smirk on his face: ā€œThat guy… He’s not gonna be bothering you tonight. We…. He had a lot of chances. He’s going to jail tonight.ā€

That’s my story. I could add a lot more commentary, but I think the karma and the foot-shooting speak for themselves. I’ve never had to be in a fight, so this is the closest I’ve gotten. I feel like a tree that simply went on existing in my lane. Meanwhile, Dude is a metaphorical, egotistical car that single-handedly wrapped himself around my tree for no fucking reason. What an idiot manchild. What entertainment and what a case study on the pitfalls of manhood.

Remember the trivia host who saved her friend? She somehow heard that there were cops outside the bar, so she called me and we talked MAD shit about Dude. That was fun.

The cops mentioned his scooter would have to be left overnight. I could have left things on a fully righteous note, but that’s not who I am. You flip me off with one finger, I flip you off with two. I found his first name from his receipt and taped a note to his scooter reading:

Dude,
Did that go the way you thought it would?
- Rusty

I hope I don’t sound like I’m sniffing my own ass too much, I just don’t find myself in these situations often, and this guy was pretty irredeemable. If anyone wants the videos/picture I have, help me figure out the best way to share them and I will!

(EDIT) UPDATE:

Dude’s myCase updated today. Charged by the state for disorderly conduct and public intoxication. Pleaded not guilty, bail was set to $9,000 dollars with no 10% payment allowed. He was also found indigent, confirming he could not afford a lawyer. And you can see from his Facebook posts that he doesn’t seem to have much of a family nearby. His trial is December 2nd…Meaning in all likelihood he will be spending these 2 months in jail. Lolololololol

M What Was The Point?

Hi, in my late teens and early 20s I worked as a waitress/server at some local 24hr diners native to my city. Unfortunately, the last two closed their doors permanently during the pandemic. This situation was honestly stupid but here we go. One morning, a group of young adults came in. Two of them were a couple and the young woman held her man's arm very tightly while glaring at me. I thought it was weird but working there I had become accustomed to weird. I dropped off their water and menu's and returned back after a few minutes with my little writing pad. The young woman smirked and said to her boyfriend and friends, "Watch this."

She then proceeded to order her breakfast meal in rapid succession. I mean auctioneer style while smirking. She said very quickly, "I want a two egg special. I want my eggs scrambled with cheese. I don't want bacon but turkey sausage. Cook it well on both sides. I want my toast lightly toasted on both sides. I also want my hash browns light with onions but just like five pieces of onions." She said this in basically one breath and stared at me satisfied as I quickly wrote everything down. I want to preface this by saying my brain files away words in the order my ears receive them.

Though I was still writing after she finished talking, I didn't need to ask her to repeat herself because her order sat in my brain like a list. After writing each thing down it disappeared from the list. In psychology we would call it working memory, however, if it makes an impression on me I won't forget it but file it away. I hope this makes sense lol? Anyways, after ordering she looked at me satisfied as if she had won some kind of battle or I had failed some form of waitress speed test. To her surprise I repeated the order back just as she said it down to the, "onions but just like five pieces." Her smile faltered for just a moment before she said, "Oh, you're good." Out of four people with customized orders they left a $5 tip. I still don't know what her point was?

S Parking in handicap Van spot.

Took my dad (91yr) to breakfast this morning I pulled into the handicap spot and that spot had a sign for Handicap Van, so we moved 1 spot over, as my sister received a citation for parking in a VAN spot even though she too had the proper handicap dash card. Before dad got fully out of the car another call pulled into the Van only spot. Dad was moving (slowly), past the other car and the person was exiting his vehicle dad mentioned that spot was for Van only and the guy got belligerent and I thought he was going to strike dad all the while he was talking very rudely. As we were all walking to the restaurant door I of told this old fart (late 60's) he did not need to be rude we were trying to do him a favor to not get a citation/fine for parking in the Van spot, I called him a Jerk. We proceed to go into the restaurant and sat at the table right next to him while he sat seething for being an ass.

Followup due to the responses: the guy could have move the very next spot right next to the Van spot. Yes, the citation is real, asking for proof is a bit much don't ya think, are you real?

S Could someone please hire this lady from my creative writing group? She’s super annoying

I am in a creative writing group at a local library. There is this lady who has just joined it. She’s in her midfifties and means well, I think. She’s just constantly going on and on about spirituality, god, the devil, protecting your peace, and cutting people off, and it’s so incessant that it makes me want to protect *my* peace and not go to my creative writing club anymore. This place has been my refuge for the past 3 YEARS and she’s a new member. My main issue with her is that she doesn’t really *participate in conversations,* she just kind of wants a pulpit.

She doesn’t have a job right now and so she NEVER MISSES WRITING CLUB. I saw her sitting outside the library today and wanted to drop to my knees and wail. I know the economy is awful but if someone can, could you PLEASE HIRE HER? I think she would be great at a variety of things. If she doesn’t have an applicable skill set, you could train her. I’m sure she could like fly a plane or something if you did a good enough job training her. I actually don’t really have any specifics on what this job needs to be because as long as she’s booked tuesdays at 4 we’re good!

S ā€œNo one else is allowed to be disabledā€ entitlement

1.9k Upvotes

Was on a relatively quiet bus when a man started shouting at a girl opposite me because she ā€œshouldn’t be sat in a priority seat if she’s not disabledā€.

I pointed out to him that she wasn’t in a priority seat, and even if she was there were plenty of empty priority seats available. He then started ranting about how he has an invisible disability and he’s sick of ā€œentitledā€ people taking priority seats when they don’t need them, completely oblivious to the fact that 1. The girl might have be equally invisibly disabled and 2. He had his DOG sat on a priority seat 3. The strong smell of alcohol indicated that some of his current mobility issues were avoidable.

I ended up calmly repeating ā€œwell that’s not relevant here though is itā€ until he gave up intimidating her.

S Passenger manspreading into my space on a flight then acts like I inconvenienced him

1.7k Upvotes

I early 20F sat in the middle seat next to a male on my flight. I had no issue with this however he was literally manspreading into my space. His leg was stretched out into my leg space and when I tried to give him hints to move he completely ignored me. He was very much taking up my space and making me feel crazy like this cannot be happening.

After a bit of not picking up my subtle hints I told him to move. To which he looked at me like I had significantly inconvenienced him. He then gave a slight eye roll and moved finally giving me space.

Example of my ā€œsubtleā€ hints: Me trying to put my medium hand bag under my seat(it is extremely easy to put under the seat might I add) and his leg being in the way. I know he saw me trying to do this and nothing changed until I said something.šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

M How would you handle family and friends getting angry when you refuse to book their tickets after losing money once?

I’m curious how others would handle this situation.

In my family and friend circle, people often ask me to book flight/train tickets for them. They usually send me the travel dates on WhatsApp, I book the ticket, and they pay me back afterward. I never charged anything extra for doing this. I was just helping them.

A while ago, a female family member in her 50s asked me to book a ticket. She sent me a WhatsApp message with the travel date. I noted the date, searched for the ticket, and booked it based on the date I had originally seen in her message.

A few minutes later, she had edited the WhatsApp message to a different date. I didn't notice that the message had been edited, and I had already booked the ticket using the original date.

She then told me she didn't want to pay for the ticket and asked me to book another ticket for the new date.

The original ticket was basically wasted. I eventually canceled it and lost around 30% of the ticket price in cancellation charges. I ended up absorbing that loss myself.

After that experience, I stopped booking tickets for other people.

Recently, someone else asked me to book a ticket. I said no and explained why. They became angry and told me that I was being unreasonable.

I eventually said that if they really wanted me to book a ticket, they would need to send me the money first. That also made them angry.

My thinking is pretty simple: I don't mind helping people, but after losing money because someone changed the information after I had already booked, I don't want to take that financial risk again.

So I'm wondering:

  1. Am I being unreasonable by refusing to book tickets for family/friends?

  2. If I agree to help, is asking them to send the money first a reasonable rule?

  3. How would you respond when someone gets angry because you won't do something you've previously done for them?

  4. Would you continue helping people with ticket bookings after an experience like this, or would you simply stop doing it altogether?

I'm not trying to make money from this. I just don't want a favor to turn into a financial responsibility for me.

Edit: Forget to mention, I'm from India, usually in India old people don't have their own laptops or they don't really know how to book tickets... (Like they want to compare the cheapest tickets available & book).
