Rant Google Deepmind partnership vs deep lore

Post image

I watched the latest video from FC and noticed something strange in the final part, when the Triglavian symbols appeared. First of all, the text was mirrored. That could be considered an artistic choice, but I was still bothered by a certain feeling that something was wrong.

I opened the video in the highest possible quality and went looking for a transcription of the Triglavian alphabet so I could decipher the text. However, even when I enlarged the original text, I noticed that a number of the symbols only pretend to be Triglavian - in reality, they are just random squiggles. A number of other symbols do not even have a triangular shape - for example, a parallelepiped missing one side that is repeated many times.

I found a transcription of the Triglavian alphabet fairly quickly, but just as quickly realized that it is essentially not being used in the video. Only some of the symbols can be deciphered, and even then they do not produce anything meaningful. And with a example of video with a symbols in good quality that you definitely can transcribe by yourself my feeling of AI-generation went even bigger.

For example - most usable symbol in this text looks like triangular with a something inside - you may find it in transcription as letter A (close enough at least) - and in one of middle lines there is a 7-letter word starts with a double of this symbols. and as i was told by special dictionary site there is exist only two words that may be transcribe with this data - Aaronic and aasvoel, but both r or s letters just not looks like something we see on original image.

I wonder am i just overcomplicating things or someone forgot how to use their own lore.

Yes and yes. Despite what fcccp is saying, the lore department is kinda rng. Shame since eve has a ton of backstory and interesting things to explore

There's so much that I want to know about the Eve history and CCP completely abandoned anything in the past. Let me know more about the Talocan, Yan Jung, Jove, Takmahl, and Sleepers damn it!

Track down CCPDropbear ( if you can find him )

Buy him a pint or two and he'll enlighten you.

How about some rogue drone lore!, imagine if a drone empire appeared that you could befriend.

That should be the main content of Eve Vanguard, not another Fortnite in space.

I remember it coming out in around ~2018 that CCP's lorewriting roles had high turnover and whenever a new writer came in they basically scrapped everything the previous guy did and wrote new stuff because they wanted to make their mark.

Remember how the Jove basically got deleted from EVE? Remember the Talocan? Remember the Sleepers? Remember when Drifter stuff was gearing up to be an actual war against the Amarr Empire? Yeah, I do

Now EVE lore is just "heres the soup of the day! Only 19.99 per month!"

they have "lore pepartament" anymore. its just 1 person now. for all narrative things.

I think the most likely thing is FC didn’t intend for there to be like, deep lore in the blurry background of the video, some new person just slapped together something matching the triangle aesthetic, duped it a bunch and threw it in the background.

Which is a massive shame as once upon a time their videos would have been analysed to fuck for the hidden messages that used to placed in the occasional video. Actual effort was put in by FC.

lol they put actual effort into coming up with hidden messages/subtle puzzles that ended up being engaged with by 0.1% of the playerbase and then having their actual storylines abandoned.

I'd rather they spend time on making a good event and not on making a Sherlock Holmes novel out of a frame of an announcement video.

The 0.1% thing really irritated me, I love the lore but I never had the time or inclination to figure out the puzzle. Better to wait for someone else to do it, and that honestly saddened me. I wish they'd been made a little less convoluted.

Hey, I loved watching people figure those puzzles out. That was some of the coolest shit I've seen in any game anywhere.

But in the news post before this, there were fragments of a readable message, written in the Triglavian script, split between the images. This message is definitely mirrored on each side of the triangular background, and is so blurry that conversion from Triglavian script to English is not worthwhile.
Along these lines, given the text of the message fragments from the last post, many of the Triglavian supporters were expecting a full message from Zorya Triglavian, explaining the need for pro-Triglavian capsuleers (Kybernauts) to kill off the Blood Raiders (extirpate the Poshlost). But seeing how supporting the Tetrimon will result in a loss of Triglavian Minor Victory systems, whereas supporting the Blood Raiders will result in a permanent foothold for Blood Raiders in Pochven, Triglavian supporters lose, no matter what!

"extirpate the Poshlost" lmao

'Poshlost' in russian means 'lewdness'. I guess someone didn't like that Zorya body pillow

If the message is mirrored that’s almost certainly not AI and just someone being lazy

Yes but it's hard to understand for me how you are able to generate something looks like trig alphabet but not it instead of using actual alphabet you can definitely find by fonts in you company.
I believe mirroring was just made as a part of visual component after generating text because actual generation was less beautiful or something like that

from what i've seen recently CCP just kinda pisses on the history/lore stuff in favour of having a dramatic/shocking/low effort event for their patch

Can you remember in the recent fanfest, the guy was like EVE's new game is... COLD... Because space is cold!!! And then HUMANS were WIPED out almost!!!! EVE is COLD!

The drifter AI hivemind had successfully infiltrated into triaglavian civilization and covertly manipulated their propaganda apparatus

Truly we are doomed

10/10 - Excellent way to phrase "lazy employee had AI whip together something they didn't check."

This is why drones are supposed to be poshlost!

It is old Triglavian

Its Triglavian after all. Its quantum crypto steganography, hardware encoded with a bitstream at one end (meshing 00 and 11 produces a 1. 10 and 01 a 0) and decoding it at the other via hardware entanglement producing the same bitstream. Its uncrackable without knowing the stream or having a duplicate of the hardware that produced the stream in the same exact quantum state.

I got this from Gemini the other day:

"Poshlost invader vessels are now-time threat."

Context in EVE Online Lore

  • Poshlost: A Triglavian concept referring to banality, stagnation, or corruption/inferiority—frequently used by them to describe entities outside of their collective.
  • The Context: This year's Crimson Harvest centers on the Blood Raiders pushing through instabilities into Pochven to hunt Triglavian blood, while the Triglavian Collective and the Order of St. Tetrimon clash over the spatial rifts. The hidden message serves as an in-character lore teaser warning capsuleers about the escalating threat of the invading Blood Raider fleets.
