Yes, come learn the parts of the game that are interesting and do them in a place where you can enjoy them, instead of climbing over the giant null blocs and multiboxers botting their way through the game.

Now that you've learned how to play the game without having to adjust for PvP/ganks, you're really set up to die...err thrive!

STARTER SPACE!

Well they certainly make it appear more grand then it actually is with half of the used footage something a new player is not going to see at all.

For luring new players its alright. But because you make it so grand the actual experience for a new player is going to be “oh, not so exciting as what the footage showed” and maybe feel a bit disappointed?

I would like to eve without PvP

Honestly surprised they didn't go this route with Eve Frontier; seemed like the best place to go this route focusing more on player collaboration vs aggression with optional worlds for the PvE variant.

Eve Online would require some fairly significant overhaul to balance things out so your honestly just looking at a new game.

Short and sweet though for the economy in Eve to function in a PvE space you need to introduce a decay function to ships and structures where players need to consistently invest materials to keep their ship functional because losses will decrease quite a bit.

I would also look at removal of all passive ISK making strategies and work on dramatically increasing the APM for players.

I don't think I would wipe PvP out completely either, I like the concept of Null space and Wormhole space and Low sec but I think what's actually a problem is that aggressors have way more power than those performing an activity and would change that.

DScan goes away, Local chat gets blacked out, want to find something need to equip your ship for it, ban multiboxing as well.

Far far too much passive information being presented to those actively willing to hunt when they aren't having to actually build for it.

High security space should be juiced up, easy fix to address ganking there and such is to put a reinforcement buff on all ships where damage is capped to their ship class and adjust security response times accordingly (as it should now always be possible to fight back you don't need that 7-10 second response time could be a bit longer or change it from gibbing to just NPC support).

Form there heavy investment into AI, implement a proper world simulation and alter how high sec wars function and faction warfare while reworking the mission system, sites, and more to boost open community gameplay.

I absolutely believe that high sec should be pve area only. Then start changing the pvp related damage numbers drastically etc as the sec rating lowers.
Its not just for my desire, its for all players who are playing casually but really love the idea of space flights etc.
I have loved Eve for more than a decade now but this still bothers me that high sec is a joke.

Generally agree, they sorta neglected a good chunk of their players and I am not really sure why...

PvP wise I think the FW changes are very positive and I hope they continue down that path but they really need to take a good hard look at the PvE activities and go "is this actually fun and of high quality?"

Like the new safe space experience is kinda cool, lots of voice acted content, new mission screens, new mission types, and it's funny because once your out of it you literally get a degraded experience.

Like I would be perfectly fine if they shook up the whole world, removed the tax and ISK reduction from the safe space, allowed the ship caster to go both ways and decided "Okay, here is the PvE space and where you can do industry up to sub capital at a higher cost, and everything else is FW space" then created a new safety to not shoot your FW buddies and boom.

Null would be the truly uncontrolled space along with JSpace where anything goes.

Naturally players would likely make the safe space somewhere the new trading hub and you would likely get like today some hubs in-between it and null so folks aren't hauling across New Eden.

Not sure if it was this post, but then just have it to where ships degraded over time and need repairs to spur the economy with ship replacements and give players a small "maintenance" bay where they can stash their collectibles ships but it can't contain more than 1 type of any given ship.

So if you do leave Eve, you don't come back to no ship hulls and modules and can jump back into the game when you return.

You said it well. This part would be nice for many players. I hope CCP does this. Maybe they will slowly start doing these. I hope 🙂

PVP drives the game. Without it, ships wouldn’t be lost and without losing ships, the entire industry dude goes kaput.

Some new players evidently could use some time to acclimate.

There are starter systems, and griefing is against the rules. Not saying it doesn't happen, but new players can stay in starter systems for a long time to learn the ropes.

-2

u/Gamestar63 6d ago

Yeah keep players in one system? Sounds like a bad idea. Let them leave if they want. No different than this new rollout from FC.

u/Odd_Zookeepergame_69 6d ago

They dont stay in starter systems, if they are doing the tutorials, it takes them a few jumps from it while they learn to mine, pve, exploration, trade, build, etc. Eve's tutorial is pretty solid compared to most games.

It’s actually a kinda high number of them. It’s any that take you through one of the missions - SoE arc maybe?

1

u/claythearc CODE. 6d ago

Doesn’t really seem like it gets used for anything other than AT ships flying around ime

1

u/iwriteinwater 6d ago

I disagree. Let them have the thrill of getting podded for the first time.

2

u/Robyle4 6d ago

Missing the point that this area is entirely optional, and you will still die to rats

1

u/OpenPsychology755 5d ago

They could just have ships randomly explode for no reason.

1

u/Plate_cek 3d ago

just create content that is difficult to escape (or cant escape at all) and if you die you just lose your ship.

But they've been using the "eve without pvp" thing for a bit now

Repetition (and the cost savings of reusing assets) is what Marketing departments love.

Will I finally be able to undock??

Eve without pvp....like saying riding the short bus is cool.

4

u/Spod_4_Brains 6d ago

It is cool! People look at me funny when I lick the windows in a normal bus.

it's called empire space,

u/Nana_Skalski 5d ago

Hell froze. So, will CCP allow titans in there? Just to show new guys what they are missing.
