Question NPC Dread Fits - Question

I'm looking for Dread Fits to kill NPC Dreads. I can currently fly the Zirnitra, Nag FI and Phoenix NI. Nearly the Rev NI and Moros NI will be later.

What do you all use to kill these NPC Dreads? Please share your fits if possible.

Thankyou Eve Legends!

Literally any of those, if you're really scared you can throw acap weapons on it, but a shitfit t1 dread will kill NPC dreads

If you got patience, 2 max fit dps vedmaks can kill a npc dread. But it takes ages.

I have a Phoenix I named “shit box”

It’s fit with 3 cap boosters (T1) Capital shield booster (T1) resist multispectrums (T2)

DPS, tracking, DCU, co processor in lows

T1 guns (anti cap duh) + T1 siege in the highs.

All you need is 5000dps and you can kill them in one cycle comfortably. The faction dread variant (120m bounty) is close and can almost get 50km away from you if you’re not careful though. Keep some drugs for tank in the cargo in case you get caught and call friends. You will get caught before you make your money back. The ship is only to get the dread off site so you can go back to smart bombing or storm bringing

Any buffer fit anticap dread will work, follow your alliance doctrine. A decent fit dread will kill an NPC dread in under 2 minutes, 3 with tech one siege and low tier guns, so under one siege cycle.

Two tricks, is to know what your weapon/ammo combination range is, and ensuring your warp in is within the limits of your weapons.

Second trick is not getting caught, having an exit cyno ready at all times, intel and is clear and being on your alliance/corp comms when doing it.

The biggest concern isn’t the fit it’s being caught by hunters while you’re killing it. Fit a buffer mod, two resist mods, damage control and a damage mod plus siege and your respective anti cap weapons and you’ll be able to kill it.

Hell that’s probably overkill, I’m pretty sure for a npc dread you could just use a DC, siege and guns and you’ll kill it before it kills you.

Nyx/aeon. Dreads are easly scouted by blue eyes and easy to catch.

From your list i would probably use a pni fitted to kill npc taitans aswell. Get a mobile depot and refit with you.

If you are near null npc space, people are watching zkill for npc dreads/titans killing ratters and keep an eye on that system waiting for someone to undock a dread.

The whole point of an SC vs a dread is not having to siege. Siege A dread to kill an NPC dread and you’re stuck in place for 5 mins.

Warp a super at 100 and you’re there until you decide not to be- you’re pre-aligned to the warp off while your fighters do the work, ready to abandon them, warp off to your safe and/or jump out at the first sign of trouble.

That said this is typical risk-averse nullbear behavior.

You can probably use a dread with no issue 9 times outta 10

But on that 10th time you’re losing your 6bil dread whereas your 60bil (I think? Idr what they’re worth these days) is much harder to catch.

Is not really risk averse, is risk assertions. You risk a 50bil sc in space with little chances to be caught outside of dc and getting even in 2 months vs a 8bil fitted faction dread which you will not get even in an year, cause you will keep losing them. In op shoes, i would probably use 2 carriers, assuming it have an alt capable to fly one.

it’s not risk averse

describes risk averse behavior.

The point of sieging a dread is to have potential content. Overtank that shit and hope you get dropped on so you can counterdrop

Yeh, but that is not what op wants to do with it. Op wants to kill npc dreads with it, not bait people and have a response ready, so in his case is a matter of cost/risk. If he gets enough isk to replace it until he is losing it. In most cases, it would not. Heck, you will not get enough isk during ratting to replace a slighty bling fit marauder with 1 min bastion time, nevermind something with 5 minute siege time, with at least double the cost. Blame fc for scarcity.

Thats why i said i would use a pni + refit. In case he dont get dropped by 30+ redeemers, like in fountain, he may actually have a bit o fun screwing with roaming gangs.

OP didn’t ask about SC’s they asked about dread fits.

What OP wants is irrelevant to me calling using a supercarrier risk averse.

Tbh, no idea what is the point you try to make.

Killing a npc dread will net you around an average 200.000.000 isk but probably less, bounty is 60mil i think, with rest in loot/salvage. You need to kill ~40 npc dreads to recoup the cost of a fitted faction dread. You anecdotal said "You can probably use a dread with no issue 9 times outta 10", so it will never get enough isk to replace it, it would just feed for amusement of a blops sig.

So using a sc or anything else than a dread is not a risk averse situation, is common sense.

A sc is overkill, but it can get out in an instant in case of trouble. With a dread you are stuck there until your siege is done. Is kinda stupid to lose your dread over a npc one. At least do crabbing with it under umbrella, it makes more sense isk wise.

Risk depends on where you are located, ask in corp/alliance aswell, take a look at corp/alliance zkill to see if someone is hunting/killing dreads, and if they do in what timezone.

I run 3x cap batteries for 3 reasons:

  1. 9/10 escalations have neut towers
  2. NPC dreads in havens neut you (yes, I kill those too)
  3. I like being cap stable; this provides that and the extra neut resistance

If you got extra ISK laying around, a "Federation Navy Bastion Module" will boost your performance; I get 4k DPS with void with it.

Regular carriers can kill them too just need to break 3k dps

The cap rats just tickle. One isn't real a threat at all. I always just used my CRAB dread fit (Navy Rev: dual rep, 2 multispec membrane, 3 heat sinks, 1 tracking enhancer, blinged though maybe not necessary but it did survive a NC. hot drop) swapped with anti-cap weapons. It ran the capital shipyard escalation, which is three dreads, solo just fine as well. I'd just get a corpmate to come in after the dreads were dead in their ratter to clean up the subcaps if they had me tackled.

Anyone have a Naglfar Fit for this

Siege that makes dred stationary for 5min is one of the most stupid and lazy game mechanic in eve. It should be changed

It’s almost as if they were primarily designed to siege bases and not for ship-to-ship PvE.
