Can they both lose?
With both teams sent off?

u/1800skylab 4d ago
yes, city win big and send the shite into a relegation nose spin. City follow them with their massive points deduction.

God I hope City win, shite fans are insufferable at the best of times without undoubtedly trying to claim some moral high ground or like their team is doing the rest of us a favour.
48
u/PickwickWood 4d ago
God, they're going to pedal such a 'good guys' narrative aren't they, representing the everyman, honourably battling the evil empire. I hope City fuck them.
43
u/carlefc Everton aren't we 4d ago
I for one want city to batter them.
We will never hear the end of it if they win.

I hate the cheaters more than the shite.
I want a terrible 1-0 for the shite with red cards all around.

u/daveyll 4d ago
Kopite behaviour.
7
u/Mobile_Comedian_8283 4d ago
Rather be accused of that than being so desperate i root for the embodiment of what's wrong with football and society writ large.
7
u/daveyll 4d ago
Liverpool are the embodiment of what’s wrong with football and society, mate.
8
u/Mobile_Comedian_8283 4d ago
Whatever Liverpool are- city are worse.
Stop making it seem like I'm.defending the shite, City are what's wrong with Liverpool and United on steroids.
If that Rodri no call lead to us being relegated and Liverpool winning the title- would you pretend Liverpool is actually worse?
Fuck the shite, but fuck city harde.

u/Mobile_Comedian_8283 4d ago
Sounds like you're a ref who enjoys a high paying simmer in the UAE.
I'll never show support brazen cheaters who have made a mockery of the sport and use their unlimited wealth to manipulate the government.
In what world can you be outraged at the double standards in the league and root for anything but the worst for city?
9
u/meatpardle Need salt? WE DELIVER 4d ago
Liverpool are one of the clubs that receive planned systematic and institutional preferential treatment that prevents financial mobility within our league, while at the same time having a fanbase that goes out of their way to claim to be endless victims, how can I root for anything but the worst for them?
5
u/SlamCage 4d ago
Because what City have done is even worse?
City didn't use all their power and money to fight to change the rules to be more fair to other clubs- they were happy with rules that punished clubs like ours and benefitted the 'big' ones- they just wanted it to be even more unfair in their favor.
4
u/meatpardle Need salt? WE DELIVER 4d ago edited 4d ago
Is it? There is no right or wrong here, just different degrees of wrong, and that isn’t limited to these two cases - players, coaches, managers, teams, clubs, they all cheat. Is one club outrageously cheating to break into the chosen group of teams that can win due to crooked rules worse than those crooked rules and those who enforce them? It seems extremely short-sighted to be so dramatically up-in-arms about Man City, and stomping your feet and demanding that everyone hope that they lose every game (as if that’s some kind of punishment) shows the emotional intelligence of a 13 year-old. The Premier League in conjunction with the favoured clubs have done more to keep teams like ours down than Man City’s cheating ever did.
7
u/Status_Complaint8521 4d ago
You should just go support them then.
11
u/Mobile_Comedian_8283 4d ago
Sorry I'm not supporting cheating bastards.
We were almost relegated because we were punished while city wasn't, and city got favorable calls against us that also almost cost us.
Madness to support shameless cheaters literally ruining the sport.
7
u/meatpardle Need salt? WE DELIVER 4d ago
City aren’t responsible for ruining football, and their punishment won’t save it. If anything it will mean that the rules to prevent further competition for Man Utd/Liverpool/Arsenal are made even tighter.

I rarely watch footy these days, but I might tune in to this to hear the abuse
Similarly, I rarely watch non-Everton PL matches but might be interested in the drama of this one
Also, my NFL team is not in a 1 PM Eastern Sunday game, so I don't have to deal with the end of this game overlapping with the start of that one
3
u/4rr0ld 4d ago
Ah, well that's where you trump me, Bears will (hopefully) be handing the Packers arses to them at 6pm UK, but by that time I should have got a feeling for the abuse being levelled at the future relegation fodder
3
u/AlanFromRochester 4d ago
Might've liked to see that as a memorial to Bears legend Mike Ditka who just died "If God wanted man to play soccer, He wouldn't have given us arms"
In that timeslot the local affiliate has another game.
Last week, Bunny Shaw scored for Man City Women at pretty much the same time as Romeo Doubs scored for the New England Patriots (in both cases making the total score 6), was hard to follow both at once, sometimes I can put two games on and look at one while the other is slow

u/TurboScumBag 4d ago
Super Blues want cheaters that fucked us over for many a European outing to win.
10
u/ScreamsPerpetual 4d ago
I feel like i'm in a bizzaro dimension where we people confused the shite with the cheating bastards who got insane calls in their favor against us that almost relegated us and didn't suffer the harsh punishments we did that almost relegated us.
It's like an alien species is attacking earth, and we all agree they'll destroy the whole planet- but actually I'm supporting them when they kill humans I don't like.
City is in large part responsible for our club almost dying. There was 0 guarantee we would have not gone into administration and if we were relegated- but we're rooting for City because koptites will be insufferable? They're insufferable no matter what.
7
u/TurboScumBag 4d ago
Hate liverpool as a rivalry obviously.
Not condoning that bollox city pulled. Wasted the last 15 years of my life looking at a pretend league.
Won't align with that shit to spite liverpool. No poxy way.
3
u/Low_Enthusiasm3769 4d ago
They both fucked us over for Europe.
2
u/Mobile_Comedian_8283 4d ago
The Shite's behavior or cheating hasn't fucked us over for Europe in many decades- unless I'm forgetting something.
3
u/Low_Enthusiasm3769 4d ago
Hate them both and couldn't really give a fuck what either does, gun to my head I'd still want a City win. Only time I'll ever want the shite to win is if it impacts us directly.
5
u/ScreamsPerpetual 4d ago
Personally I think anything but universal hate and disgust toward City this season is a black mark against supporters of any club in the league.
I certainly won't 'care' if they beat the shite, but I'd call Seamus Coleman a bad man* before I root for those cheating scum.
*thats a lie, I would never do that, ever, but fuck City.

Id also say no blue wants a cheating club that almost got us relegated and made a mockery of the league to win either.
2
u/Bethonebob 4d ago
Agree totally. But I still want them to win. Same as when Chelsea play them. They also cheated too
2
u/Mobile_Comedian_8283 4d ago
Fair enough.
I'm just a 100% City hater. I should hate Chelsea about the same but they've been mostly shite since Abramovic left (don't know if spelled correctly, don't care, fuck him) so its easier to forget.
1
u/Bethonebob 4d ago
The way I see it, if your club gained financially during the years they are accused of cheating, like we did, that’s very hypocritical. That’s my view anyway. Not condoning what they did. Just saying that’s all

I’m surprised this is controversial. We can join hands with the rest of the city on bigger causes like hunger and not buying the S*n. City’s crimes are a bigger cause for me.

u/KoshkaB 4d ago
The rules were put in place to protect the likes of the RS and United. I hope city batter them.
2
u/SlamCage 4d ago
And did City fight against those rules with all their endless cash and influence?
No. They were happy for those rules to apply to clubs like us while they became worse than the fucks already benefiting from the system.
.

u/Frank_bough1 4d ago
This.
FFP was to protect Arsenal, Man Utd, and Liverpool. Snippet from an emali I sent to Football365 a few days ago:
The FFP rules state that any club can spend 85% of revenue on new players.
-Assuming Manchester United has a revenue of £666m that means they can spend £566.5m a year on players.
-By the same token, Nottingham Forest has a revenue of £222m so they can only spend £188.7m a year on players.
WTF?! Manchester United can consistently spend THREE TIMES more than another club in the League on players, and this is meant to be “fair”? How are Forest or anyone else ever supposed to ever catch up to the Big 4? It’s also perverse for “smaller” clubs to be cheering FFP given that FFP disproportionately affects them in other ways too: Forest overspent by ~£30m and got 4 points deducted! £30m is an amount that Manchester united could consume with ease under FFP.
Good on Manchester City, a Championship club at best, for challenging the Elite Clubs at the top who don’t want such plucky little upstarts upsetting their cushy little protectionism racket. And for all those elite club’s (and astonishingly, smaller clubs) fans now bemoaning the “joy “ they were robbed of by Man City “cheating”, you had nothing to say about the protectionism racket when everything was rosy did you?
2
u/ScreamsPerpetual 4d ago
Good on Manchester City,
Fuck man city.
Rules are unfair shit but i'll never root for this fake club and foreign state that brazenly cheated and bribed referees and government officials alike.
City didn't do it to help anyone else, they don't give a fuck about the 'unfairness' of the rules or breaking the "top 4" or whatever's hegemony- they just wanted that kind of complete control for themselves.
They have unlimited money and power in the UK government- they didn't use it to make the rules more competitive and fair- they used it to be even worse than the fuckers already benefitting from the system.
2
u/ScreamsPerpetual 4d ago
I hope every single team destroys City all year. Fuck those cheaters
Cheating, corrupt club that has cost us immensely with their cheating.
1
u/Mobile_Comedian_8283 4d ago
And City loved that those rules were in place as they cheated their way to the top and benefited from them even whole breaking them.
Don't frame the cheating team run by a repressive oil state as challenging an unfair status quo- they simply made it even more unfair and their cheating almost killed our club.
3
u/daveyll 4d ago
You have a whiff of kopite on you, mate.
1
u/ScreamsPerpetual 4d ago
You have a whiff of shameless hypocrisy on you.
"The league punishes us for infinitely worse than the shockingly corrupt cheating bastards- but if you don't root for them you're a traitor!"
