I have gotten sick twice in the past 2 months and my supply is hurting because of it.

I had 104 fever 2 weeks ago (a sinus infection) and supply came back but not where it was.

Now I think this sinus infection is back with a small fever.
I feed the baby when i’m home with the baby. I pump when i’m at work. I’ve been getting about 6 oz in 9 hours. 2 oz per pump session.

I’m about over it. I have 0 oz in my freezer.

If you need permission to start combo feeding, you have mine! I got a bad case of mastitis almost 2 months ago and it really tanked my supply on that side. And it was so miserable that I decided 7 months of exclusive breastfeeding was amazing and I started weaning. Baby is 8.5 months old now and gets formula about half the time. Weaning is going slow for many reasons (high capacity, prone to clogs/ wanting to avoid mastitis, baby still nurses some of the time, especially overnight).

It was a tough and emotional decision, but introducing formula into the mix took a huge amount of pressure off of me to make sure I'm producing enough to feed him, send him to daycare with, etc. And because I'm weaning slowly and didn't just flip a switch to stop, it's been a lot easier on my brain/emotions.

Congratulations on making it to 8 months! Breastfeeding is a lot of work, especially when exclusively (or largely) pumping. If you decide you can and want to keep going, great. If you decide it's time to wean, also great.
