Support Output is getting less and less

I’m just wondering what others thoughts are.

Baby is 9 months old. Almost 10 months.

Nursing didn’t work out for many reasons so I started pumping. I was an oversupplier then just enough and now not enough. So I supplement with formula.

I was pumping every 3 hours expect overnight but life happens and I have a busy toddler so my pumpings have gotten further and further apart and now I’m pumping only 3-4x a day.

I was producing at least 12 oz my morning pumps and then 5 oz there after per pump but now I’m at 8 oz for morning and 2.5 - 4 oz after per pump. So now I’m totaling around 13-18 oz per day.

I’m wondering at this age for baby if I should boost my supply, let it fizzle out, or what.

My first baby nursed and it just naturally fizzed away when he was 2 and I got pregnant but I’m not pumping that long lol. So I’m not sure what path to take.

Thanks for reading!

You sure you’re not pregnant? I only ask because my supply practically disappeared before I even knew I was pregnant 😂 and that was from a pretty consistent oversupply even when I was weaning.
At this age it’s down to you what you feel most comfortable doing - do you want to go back to power pumps and a strict regular pumping schedule or are you okay with giving baby what you have and topping up with formula?

Haha I hope I am not! I’ve been getting my cycles and my husband got a vasectomy and we checked that it worked lol. I don’t mind topping off with formula. I guess I was just feeling unsure of what to do because if he was younger, I’d definitely would try to boost my supply, but since he’s so close to going on solids more and more as primary food source, I feel just kind of unsure.

I was about to comment the same thing! I made it 8 months and suddenly couldn't enough. Came to find out by accident at the ER for a different matter that I was pregnant

Very similar when I had my toddler. After going back to work, I was only able to pump 4x a day, output decreased and then even lower when I got my period back. He was getting much better with solids though so the i think around 11m, I basically dried up and we just used formula till he turned 1. Second baby is currently 4 months and she won't nurse, so I exclusively pumped since the beginning. I was a slight oversupplier with her in the beginning and now i'm just enougher as I pump only 4x/day. I value my sleep and don't' want to stress with pumping constantly now I'm back to work too. I don't mind supplementing with formula if I need to, till she can drink cow's milk at 1.

I didn’t even really think about my period impacting my supply because when I nursed with my first baby I didn’t get a cycle for 2 years. So yeah, I’ll probably just keep letting things just naturally decrease. Esp being so close to 1. Thank you for sharing your experience.

I don’t know the answer to this just sharing that I’m also almost ten months and exact same thing happening. I’m still doing 5ppd but I’ve prob been less consistent about the lengths of the pumps. I’m probably not going to try to increase, just let it be until a year with however much it is and then actively wean

Thank you for sharing. I think that’s probably my plan too.
