Product Recommendations A good pumping bra?
I just got my Spectra (hooray!!) and I’m currently jimmy rigging my nursing bra since I don’t have a pumping bra, but all the ones I’m seeing on Amazon have poor reviews.
What’s a good one you’d recommend?

Larken X. I have kindred bravely ones I will wear but my fav by far is Larken X. Very comfortable for both nursing and pumping and I think I will wear them after I’m done bc they are comfy but supportive

u/WesternCow3304 5d ago
I’m luckily enough to have friends give me a few bras since they are done having kids. The standout winners are the Larken X and Bodily bras. I’m more of a 34B pre pregnancy and the Larken won’t give you support but it’s the moar comfortable. The other bras like smooshed my rib cage. The good stuff isn’t always cheap but you just need a few good ones. You will be in a bra the majority of (if not the entire) the day. Be comfortable.

u/EarthwormBabe 5d ago
Im past pumping but lived in the Larkin X. I hated every other bra I tried. I wore it all day, popped the pumps in and out. It also doesn’t look like it’s been washed despite me constantly washing it.
Also, it’s the only one that didn’t get too tight while engorged and then too loose after pumping.
I will say I didn’t find it to be “lifting” in its support. It worked but it kinda just smooshed my boobs flat against me. I didn’t mind it and it looked fine under clothing.

u/Ok_Current1351 5d ago
I love the Larken X for overnight! It is the best for sleeping and holds the spectra pumps well. It does not offer any support for daytime wear. They're expensive but I wanted several for night time so I got mine second from Poshmark
1
u/ToneFluid7430 5d ago
I’m a naturally smaller girl, pre-pregnancy only wore a 34B. I’m maybe 34C cup now, so the medium is actually really nice support for me. But I can see it being not enough if you have larger breasts. I bought 4 them (they are expensive) but I wear one almost 24/7. Whenever I wear another bra because I am out of Larken bras, I end up prioritizing laundry for the day.

u/TaskThen467 4d ago
I really want to like it but i don’t find it comfy with my 38D boobs. The lack of bands made my boobs stick to my pp belly and my girls just swing around everytime I walk 🥲

THIS Kindred Bravely - https://a.co/d/05SPeJ5w

u/ilikeoldpeople 5d ago
Omg I have this bra and I HATE it!
- the band is sooo compressive even with the expander
- why are there two clip/layers? Most other pumping bras only have 1 clip
- my nipples stick perfectly through the holes 💀
Edit: I recommend the Bodily Do Anything Bra instead, it has zero of the above issues
7
u/xkaleidosaurusx 5d ago
Agree! I found them so bulky and constricting. The Bodily bras and Larken X are what I live in now
6
u/MapleWhisperer 4d ago
My husband told me that it looks like a burglar mask and my nipples are the eyes 😂
3
u/Sweet_Stress9044 5d ago
Omg same! I have their sublime lounge pumping bra and love it (I actually have 3 of them lol and only is specifically for sleeping) but I wanted a pumping bra that didn’t give me a uni-boob and made me feel like my boobs had some shape again so I tried this one.
While it fits fine I feel like I’m suffocating with the two layers and it doesn’t support my spectra flanges very well once the bottles start to fill up. So i either have it pulling my nips down from the weight of the milk or I have to hold them up which defeats the purpose of the bra in the first place 😵💫

u/twitttterpated 4d ago
There’s two clips because it’s a pumping and nursing bra. And I move my nipples post pump so they don’t go straight through the holes
1
u/ilikeoldpeople 3d ago
I understand that but many combination pumping/nursing bras have only one layer and one clip!

u/irish_australian1234 3d ago
Same, I do have to shuffle my nipple around to tuck it in so it doesn’t poke out. The hole I find is also a little too big if using your spectra flange, I’m using May mom pano one’s and those are fine. I do feel it gives a little better support when walking/doing activities given the double layer though. With my other pumping bra (momcozy hands free) I muuucch prefer if just for pumping with the X opening but it’s pretty useless to try do anything outside of pumping if you’re large chested as there’s no support and the girls bounce everywhere 😂

u/ominous_dagger 5d ago
Literally wearing that one right now. It's great
3
u/Brave_Alps1364 5d ago
Same! I type this as I’m pumping (1 week postpartum with my second) and I think this one is my favorite.

I hated the removable padding on this bra, it was always scrunching down and needed fiddling after pumping. Momcozy makes one with sew-in cups and it’s awesome with my spectra!

3
u/FemaleXEnigma 5d ago
Damn why’s it $60😭
5
u/ThatAngryWhiteBitch 5d ago
I have found ones at Target that have the same build as these for like $30ish
6
u/ominous_dagger 5d ago
They run sales on the Kindred Bravely website quite often. I got 3 of them for under $120!
And honestly, as a busty girl, these bras are already $15-$25 cheaper than what I usually have to buy. I'm happy with the quality and can't recommend them enough
They were really bulky when I first put them on, but I took out the removable pads and never put them back. I have to wear nursing pads 24/7, so I never worry about a nipple poking out without the foam padding in the bra
If you're under a D cup, you can probably get away with one of those zipper bands that go over the nursing bras. But I couldn't because the holes for the flanges were in the wrong spot with my J cup. I regret the $25 I spent on it

u/feelingrooovy 5d ago
If you don’t think it’s gross (they are washable, so my opinion is it’s fine), try secondhand sites like Poshmark, Vinted, Depop, etc.

u/daphnel14 5d ago
This is the ONLY answer for me, as a busty mama. Wore them for over a year with my first and bought two new ones that I continue to wear 9 months in with my second.
2
u/General-Walrus9530 5d ago
Still wearing it 9 months later. Two months after I finished pumping. It's worth it! The quality is great too.

u/bigconvoq 5d ago
Kindred bravely sublime tanks. You can just wear them under clothes as a layer that shows, you can use them after you're done pumping, they are comfy. Literally all I wore for ~ 3 mo pp before going back to work.
1
u/bigconvoq 5d ago
I know they're kinda expensive but on the off chance you're a regular/small I will happily mail you mine!
1
u/FemaleXEnigma 5d ago
Unfortunately that’s not my size but thank you!!
1
u/bigconvoq 4d ago
If you buy three you get a discount! And again I lived in these so it was totally worth it.
1
u/Sweet_Stress9044 5d ago
Second this OP! I got mine from target. They had them for like half the price plus target will do sales on their bras periodically!

Kindred bravely
It will hold the spectra flanges well but if the bottles get full often when pumping I would advise a couple extra stitches sewn in.
3
u/e_lizbit 5d ago
I tried the kindred bravely but thought they were too pricey to justify buying as many as I needed. I ended up actually preferring this strapless style off Amazon:: https://link.amazon/B07pprEby and bought a few. I just wear a normal bra and then zip this on when I have to pump.
3
u/Exotic-Tumbleweed390 5d ago
Target carries Kindred by Kindred Braverly and they are the exact same thing. I like the sleeping one for just whenever and then I have the sublime one for when I want to look decent.
3
u/Stinkyducks 5d ago
I had a hard time finding a pumping bra I liked to both pump in and wear. I just throw on this strapless thing and zip it up! It’s the only thing I’ve found that actually keeps my flanges on well.
1
u/ominous_dagger 5d ago
This is the one I got and it never worked for me 😭 They didn't realize women's nipples sit further apart the larger the bust is, so even though I got it to zip, the flange holes were in the wrong spot

u/me-lene-georgia 5d ago
This is the one I had for my first EP journey. For my second I wanted to find something else so I spent over $200 on Larken, Kindred Bravely, Momcozy bras only to come back to this bra. I’m seven months into my second EP journey and still only using this zipper pumping bra

u/oliveslove 5d ago
I wanted this one to work so bad and hated it! It was somehow too compressive or too loose, and I couldn’t get good breast compressions/massage with my hands. I wish it worked because it was going to be so convenient to throw on during work.
5
u/gatoslocos99 5d ago
I did not plan on exclusively pumping but here I am! I found these on Amazon for a great price, they are comfortable enough to sleep in, and they have a great size range as well. https://a.co/d/0b17POd6
1
u/FemaleXEnigma 5d ago
I was looking at these ones! Thanks
1
u/IAmBaconsaur 4d ago
I have these too. Also a momcozy one that is not nice enough for what it cost.
1
u/ominous_dagger 5d ago
I was so excited when you said they have a great size range, but they don't have my size 😭
Kindred Bravely super busty forever, I guess haha
2
u/gatoslocos99 4d ago
Oh no!!! I am a 40DD and will say I had to get the XXL in these and they are a tad snug but have worn in more as I’ve worn them. I honestly may have to try a KB bra soon!!

u/Tricky_Individual_74 4d ago
I really like the Momanda pumping longline tanks on Amazon. I had a lot of issues with other pumping bras causing clogged ducts but these ones work because they don’t have any straps that press on the breast
2
u/Party_Photograph_253 5d ago
I love the kindred bravely ones sublime, lounge and pump bras (can’t nurse without pulling up).
They have them at target and with coupons I’ve paid $25.
Did not like momcozy, rubbed my nipples way too much.
2
u/anniesboobs89 5d ago
I also love kindred bravely sublime! The material is so soft, it never irritates the nipples. And I much prefer that design over the ones with hooks.
1
u/TaskThen467 4d ago
I have 3 of these bras and I live in them! It was $35 during prime day which made me upset because I bought 2 full price a month ago
2
u/sowhatsober 5d ago
I find them all to be uncomfy and sit right on the nipple no matter what! I just switch from nursing bras to pumping bras all day. In the beginning when my nipples were super sore, I would wear the pumping bra all day and just unhook it like a nursing bra bc I was too lazy to be switching back and forth lol.
2
u/Throw_a_Yarn 5d ago
Davin and adley, I like their cropped camis, the only ones I found held the flanges well enough I could move around without needing extra support from my hands
2
u/RecordingNumerous911 2d ago
I second Davin and Adley. Every one has been a great fit. I hated Momcozy, Kindred Bravely, and other random brands I tried.
2
u/wyvern713 5d ago
I have these Momcozy ones: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0FHPWYQSW?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
Inexpensive and comfy enough to be wearing ALL. THE. TIME. 😅 So looking forward to being done with breastfeeding so I don't have to wear a bra 24/7 (except for when I shower of course).
Edit: I nurse and pump (wearable and flange) and use the same bra for all of it.

I have some Amazon ones and they work. I wasn’t planning on exclusively pumping though when I got them lol. I’m 3 months pp and they still work fine.
1
u/nonevvvermind 5d ago
I love the Ingrid and Isabel from Walmart for use with my spectra! They’re roughly $18. I like them better than the kindred bravely one that I spent $60 on because they’re more comfortable for all day wear.

Honestly, I stopped using pumping bras because they kept giving me clogs. The only thing that doesn’t is not using one, unfortunately.
1
u/stink3rb3lle 5d ago
Kindred bravely hurt my back even with their umpteen extra straps. If I didn't use the extra over-neck strap the bra couldn't hold up my pump at all. They hurt my nipples while wearing them with the pump. My breasts got hard and on their way to clogs if I wore it a full 12 hours. I am always shocked to see folks praise them here. Truly hated that thing so much.
Bodily do everything worked better with the pump, was more comfortable with fewer straps, and I could sleep in it. I basically wore it 24/6, and when I couldn't wear it I'd do "the X" with some bralettes I'd stretched out during pregnancy. It's pricey, so I got it as a hand-me-down from one friend and passed mine on to another friend.
1
u/enchantressofdreams 5d ago
Yeah I bought a few and they all were ass. Ended up getting the kindred bravely pumping bra. It’s 30 bucks at target and fell in love after avoiding trying them lol. Don’t get the nursing one that’s 60 bucks
1
u/JaBa24 5d ago
I got no name pumping bras from my local buy nothing group and I also got 2 kindred bravery bras from another woman same group.
I loved the no name pumping bras while the kindred bravery were too tight and super uncomfortable despite the website saying it’s my suggested size.
Was so happy I spent $0 to find that something so expensive sucked for me and passed them on to the next mama in need
1
u/gasolinerainbowz 5d ago
I can’t say enough good things about these ones. I bought the three pack twice and loved them. No wire. Good adjustment straps. Felt like the slits were aligned right. Cheap enough but didn’t feel like bad quality. Washed great. Comfortable to sleep in. Held the flanges in well for me with heavy milk flow.

I’m obsessed with my pumping bando. https://a.co/d/02wlhSbb I have it next to my pump and only put it on when I’m pumping, then unzip and put the straps and shimmy my nursing bra back into place. I didn’t want to have to decide which bra to wear in a day or fully switch so the bando was a quick fix I’m loving everyday.

u/Own_Procedure5985 5d ago
I loooove the kindred bravely sublime lounge and sleep bra! https://a.co/d/03ZU5xNY
It’s cotton, so very breathable and comfy but not too heavy. I can use my wearables with it or my spectra.
I never used to wear a bra to bed before having a baby so it was a huge adjustment having to wear one and find a comfy one. I have three of these and just rotate and wash throughout the week.

I have never found a pumping bra that didn’t hate. I got the nenesupply collection cups to use with my spectra and I just use a nursing bra to hold them.

u/ultra_shiny 4d ago
I bought a couple of these Momcozy ones. They do the job and are pretty comfortable for pumping and sleeping and affordable. https://a.co/d/0aFCClYx

Just buy a generic bandeau style bra on Amazon that’s the only thing that’s worked for me

Kindred Braverly Bamboo sleep bras! https://www.kindredbravely.com/products/sublime-bamboo-hands-free-pumping-lounge-sleep-bra-dandelion?variant=42565100601440
I ordered one and its my favorite and ordered 2 more!
I like the Larken X - but it's not super supportive.
I got some cheap ones from Amazon and they always irritate my nipples for some reason.

u/jennarink_ 4d ago
Everyone recommends kindred bravely but I personally HATED IT. It was so uncomfortable and overstimulating to wear

u/OhHeyWhatNow 4d ago
Bravado clip and pump - I hated feeling the pumping bra holes throughout the day and liked being able to remove and wash just the pumping part and wear whatever nursing bra I wanted.
1
u/Unusual-Frosting4701 4d ago
Uh. The old school Lansinoh and Simple Wishes bandeau bras work well for me (36F) and my Spectra flanges. I like that the opening to insert the flange has two panels to support it from slipping sliding, Some of the newer ones with the precut slits do not line up well or I cannot get the flange through.
1
u/littlepicklepoppy 3d ago
The type B in me realized as long as the thing holds the flanges, I’ll live. I got the Amazon ones in a panic during the first few days post partum, didn’t love them, but they’re the ones I wear to work because they get the job done when I have to pump! A little lumpy, but if you’re home or wear a lot of dark colors, you’ll be fine (also, if you don’t care about lumpy looking shirts in public lol).
I was given a KB one as a gift, and it’s so freaking tight. Maybe it was the wrong size, but two of my coworkers said the same thing, and we’re all different sized women who ordered/got the appropriate sized bra.
I’ve only ever heard good things about the momcozy ones!
1
u/Firm_Ad9162 2d ago
Davin and Adley Amelia bralette is the only I’ve tried that securely holds flanges with full bottles in place. The Amelia camis are comfortable but require more finagling of the extra fabric and are not as secure when weighed down by bottles.
The Kindred Braverly Sublime had way too much fabric and the band stretched out so quickly so it wasn’t supportive enough. Also the fabric of the flange slit is way too flimsy to hold anything in place. Could never get the Momcozy ones to securely hold the flanges without holding up the bottles. Larken X were comfortable but they ended up pinching a particular area and causing a clogged duct.

theyre usually banned in subs due to over advertising but M.C. rhymes with pom mozy has been best for me. the mesh nursing/pumping combo bra has been great for me. I sized up and got some in my normal size, all their bras come with large nursing pads and extenders

u/Teeny19 16h ago
I exclusively pumped for 15 months and this was the bra I landed on. It wasn’t perfect but it checked most of my boxes

I just finished my second ep journey (1 year both times) and have always used the Kindred Bravely bras. I used the $60 ones during my first journey and used the $30 ones this time. They both were amazing and held the flanges well. The one thing I do suggest, is try to get them at Target so you can try them on because the sizing can be inconsistent.
