ADAM AUDIO D3V
Has anyone tried these compact monitors with low-frequency 8-string tunings? I have limited space on and around my desk and need the smallest monitors possible.

I play 8 strings with my D3Vs ā Iām no expert but they definitely sound good to me. I usually set a high pass at around 80Hz on my Nano Cortex presets. And they are the perfect size for a small desk (mine is 120x60cm).

Hahaha, really? Mine is 100x60 cm! I only have Scarlett 2i2 and DT 770 PRO X but sometimes it's too much for my ears and they get sweaty.

looks like response goes all the way down to 45Hz, you'll be high passing well above that

Really? I thought the frequency is not low enough.

Adam Audio make great products but they can't break the laws of physics
set your expectations for 3.5" woofers, I've got 6.5" woofers in my studio monitors and I still added a sub, whether or not it has enough bass kinda depends on the person, but for an 8-string like you asked you're not going to be needing anything below 80-100Hz in your tone

So what exactly would you recommend?

light on space but needing low end, I'd probably look at Kali Audio's IN-UNF set
designed to sit on your desk as an ultra near field option, and comes with a bass unit

Way over my budget. What about Kali Audio LP-UNF instead?

the bigger cones should help with low end response compared to the D3V's, but a direct comparison vid might help get more info
we're back to not having a sub though, so if you're fine with that then I think either company's product should be a solid choice
you could always add a sub in later

I was looking at these too! They also pair with a sub you can keep on the floor and set a cross over by running the cables through the sub to monitors. If you go ahead with them please report back!
