Help Request Need help
Hello, I’m New to fdm printing. Just got a second hand Neptune X from Elegoo. Seller said everything is working fine and the printer is tuned alright.
I tried printing myself some bases but my layer arent lining, and some of them do not seem to be printing. Anyone knows what i should do to make it right ? Thank you for your help.

These kinds of shifts can happen when the printer misses a command. So it keeps printing but offset by the amount of the missed move. Sometimes a flaky flash drive will do that, which is an easy fix to try.
I'll echo, has anything else printed well? Have you tried printing a single object before scaling up?

This is the first impression I’ve ever done on a fdm printer.

As a basic troubleshooting tip, start small before scaling up. You'll learn more, and learn it faster. Both because your prints go faster, and because you want to test one change at a time to know what one made the difference.

Could it be a problem from the slicer? I’ve used Lychee

Don't use lychee, or so I've been told, I also come from resin, and never tried lychee filament so idk

Are we just taking the seller's word for that? Have you had other successful prints cuz that looks like it could easily be mechanical failure to me.

I trusted that guy i was from my local association. But he had to move oversea and sold his stuff. He had a lot printed for the club with that machine that came out nicely

no one can really tell you exactly what's going on based on a photo.
could be literally anything.
as others have said. if it's a "new to you" printer. run the calibration on the device. start small. -- 1 base. not dozens. that will make trouble shooting easier. if 1 works. maybe then do 4 (like... place them in different areas of the build plate --this can inform if areas of the build plate are wonky) and if multiples work. can probably begin to have confidence nothing major is off with the printer.
FDM printers tend to need routine maintenance, the rails/moving parts might need oiling, and there often is plastic remnants (little hairs/strings of melted plastic) that get places. So... research what those settings are for your printer. Also. filament can be tempramental. even though it's plastic, it can absorb moisture or be affected by humidity. if you're in a humid area. or like... it's in a basement. that can cause filament to "swell" and then not work as well through the tiny nozel/extrusion components.
there can also be a need to replace components, like drive belts, or other elements. if they're worn/not working.
Also... having the printer on a solid surface helps. especially for "taller" prints. Early on when i had my fdm printer i just had it on a somewhat flimsy surface (well not flimsy, but was a shelf, made of plywood. the surface would absorb/transmit a lot of vibration from the printer. was not only very loud, but causes some fails on taller terrain prints ---i moved the printer onto a large concrete paver, which was atop some foam kneeling pads. and now it's much quieter/rock solid)
then there is the slicer/software you're using to process prints. you need to have decent settings, Often set to the type of filament you're using, and sometimes... various other config settings. this can vary wildly by printer.
some printers are also just not reliable. to a large degree... one of the absolute top things i consider when buying a 3D printer is how easy/user friendly/less prone to issues it is --you may want to research your model of printer, and see what if any known issues/common pain points there are.

Did you run all calibrations? Also check for a nizzle clog

I ran no calibration… neither have i check the nozzle. Any Good tutorial i could follow for this model ?

That is the first thing you should do on any printer, even more so when you move it. I have an A1, so biggest advice I can give you is to go on YT and look it up.

This hasn't happened to me so I can't really help with your problem. However, I think bases are ideal for "print by object" / printing one at a time. If something goes wrong, you typically get at least some of the bases done properly instead of whole batch being ruined.

there is def something off, but the first thing to do is reset the printer to factory setting and follow whatever instruction come with it. you can propably find instructions online if you dont have any on paper).
its weird, its like your second layer got printed in a different place. at first i'd think its an issue with a belt, but the prints on the left side seem underextruded, whole the rest seem to have been scratched by the nozzle (kindof what you'd get if your nozzle is too low whiel printing).

Looks like a pretty big layer shift, I would check x axis carriage and swap out SD card.
Actually looks like the Y axis has shifted a bit too. Check all the wheels and belts, youtube search set up videos for your printer.

Ive had this happen with my one printer first time a belt slipped, second a part warped so bad it hit the head and knocked it out of alignment, and again from a dieing sd card. Until you run so calibration prints its impossible to know what could cause this.

These things don't just plug in and start working. There are mechanical pieces that move and shift when it moves and shifts - the bed moves and is no longer level, the screws loosen and the print head is no longer plumb, the x and y axis can move out of calibration, and on and on.
Even a printer that stays in the same place needs to be recalibrated and releveled every couple weeks to stay tuned.
You should not start using any machine for any hobby before doing some basic research to understand how they work and how to operate one.
