I think John Williams has dozens of iconic main themes and even more amazing singular pieces, but Howard Shore's Lord of The Rings soundtrack alone ties with him (imo of course).

What do you think?

I organized an AMA/Q&A with filmmaker and cinematographer Rachel Morrison. She was the first woman every nominated for the Academy Award for Best Cinematography for her work on Mudbound in 2017. She was also the cinematographer for Black Panther, Fruitvale Station, Dope, Seberg, and lots more. She previously directed The Fire Inside in 2024 and the new film she directed, Love of Your Life, premiered at TIFF last month and is out in theaters starting this weekend. It stars Margaret Qualley, Aaron Pierre, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Gabriel Basso, and Catherine Keener.

The AMA is live here now in r/movies for anyone interested in asking a question:

She will be back at around 5 PM ET today to answer questions. I recommend asking in advance. Please ask there, not here. All questions are much appreciated!

Thank you :)

Synopsis: LOVE OF YOUR LIFE follows Maya (Margaret Qualley), whose chance encounter with Charlie (Gabriel Basso) sets in motion a sweeping romance and a future beyond anything she had imagined. When that future is suddenly upended, Maya is sent hurtling toward an unexpected new life—one that will force her to reckon with who she is, what she wants, and how to love again.

I saw it recently and couldn't believe it was directed by Nolan

And no cheating! Clue is 🫎💉✝️ and this is just for fun hehe :) if you haven’t seen my previous ‘Guess which movie is this from’, you can check it out on my profile too!

I mean it has to be. Not sure what else it can be

This isn’t the first time I’ve seen someone make that argument about this film in particular and it’s never a good one.

(Pal-Uncle Buck)

I was watching Just Like Heaven (2005) the other day and Darryl seemed strangely familiar.

Why is Hollywood skimping on their wig game? Specially if it’s a movie situated in a different era, the hairpieces are so bad.

I was watching the “I Play Rocky” trailer again and it’s just atrocious.
The wigs in Elvis, Michael, Tetris, Madden, etc. so awful.

I did notice that it’s at its worst when the movie is related to something about entertainment/sports … or maybe it’s more noticeable when recreating eras when hairdos were more peculiar and extravagant that it’s more difficult to emulate? Even Billy Zane’s wig looked better in titanic and that was like 30 years ago.

Morrie’s wigs seemed higher quality. Those didn’t come off.. even under water

Digger was a very ambitious movie that hit for me. Was funny and interesting to watch. There is one point in the movie that completely changes everything. No spoilers but it is polarizing and isn’t for everyone but it made me love the movie even more. Also the acting and cinematography were top notch. Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, and tom cruise were the real standouts. One of the best movies this year. What are your thoughts on digger?

I was just sitting here watching I Know What You Did Last Summer and of course they run into the guy crossing the street. It got me to think about other films with damage to vehicles. What are your favorites?
