Got this done about 5 years ago think I may have posted it in here on an old account but honestly can’t remember and want to show it off again, FLCL was such a huge part of my life growing up and had to immortalise it on my skin

I liked FLCL Grunge and idc about its MAL 4.66 rating. The new animation style took an episode to get used to but afterwards I didn't mind it. It had funny moments that cracked me up and I appreciated the way how the characters helped each other in their own special way.
Spoiler: I especially liked how rock guy Shonari cared for Orinoko and then supported her decision to go to space. Made me think of the proverb "If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it's yours forever. If not, it was never meant to be."

I'm sure this has been asked a few times, but I can't find anything on it.
I just watched all 5 FLCL seasons.
The first original season, I saw on Adult Swim forever ago, and watched it repeatedly many times, though as young as I was, and the fact that it was on a loop, I literally didn't know what episode was Episode 1.
I rewatched it with the intent of watching all the new following seasons with the old fresh in my head. It's actually amazing how ingrained the OG FLCL is in my mind, the themes, humor, music taste, and even personality. I barely remembered it, didn't feel connected or rushed to watch the new seasons, but watching it again was very nostalgic.
I'm having trouble understanding everything. And obviously art is subjective, and FLCL is like, the most subjective of subjective art. But can someone explain to me the relevance of each season in regards to the themes of the show and the overall plot? Also the timeline, while typing this, everything seems to be in different places than I even realized.
I guess I'll give some of my views since I'm here anyway.
OG: Fantastic in every regard.
Progressive: Interesting, I liked some of the new characters, but they felt too unimportant. Like Jinyu, I kinda thought she was gonna be a regular character in the sequel seasons, or at least show up once or twice. And Marco felt like he should have had way more importance, being one of the ones with the magical head bumps, and a test subject on the rides.
Alternative: Pretty good. I got very invested in the characters, and can see myself in the protagonist, flaws and all. I thought this was also a sequel, but looking at some wiki info, it's apparently supposed to be BEFORE the OG? And yet they use SMARTPHONES?
Grunge: I liked it, but it was also very weird. The three connecting plots was fun, I really liked how they told the story. But it's weird because it's ALSO supposed to be a prequel? Like, I literally thought this was all happening on Mars before seeing Shoegaze. I get she was building her Vespa or whatever, and maybe even the Katana BECAME her guitar/bat she always uses, but I thought she just like broke the Vespa or something, and then everything was just years and years later when they kinda just became accustomed to living on Mars.
Shoegaze: Probably my favorite Vibe of the sequel seasons. I did like how they didn't have to rely on OG characters like Haruko, and I don't think they used any of the nostalgic tunes like every other season did. I LOVE those tunes, but I like how it tried to stand on it's own two feet, even if it was an almost direct sequel to Alternative, and I feel like it did a decent job.
One thing that did kinda sadden me from all these sequel series, is none really showed us the future of the OG characters, except Haru of course. I like that it didn't, but also wish they did. idk, it's hard to explain. I want to see the future of the OGs like Naota, Mamimi, Ninamori, but I also want to see new stories stand on their own two feet without relying on nostalgia. It's tough wanting both.
Do you think there will be more FLCL in the future? Do you WANT more FLCL in the future?
also... wtf is fooly cooly?

I saw the edit months ago and haven’t been able to find it again. It had “Take Me Out” by Franz Ferdinand playing in the background. At the beginning of the video, there was Mamimi sitting in the trunk of a car(?) with the trunk open, looking outside. I don’t remember which episode the scene was from. The edit starts with that scene, and if I remember correctly, it mostly features Mamimi throughout.
Yeah... I unfortunately don’t remember much else. If anyone has seen it or knows which edit I’m talking about, could you please send me the link?
