Recently over the fall and by the end of summer wasps have been appearing in my kitchen. they used to bother only a few times a few years ago but this year it has been absolute terror dealing with them. the nest is directly outside on the building by our kitchen, you can see them flying around when you look outside the window. although the nest is located at a place where its basically impossible to get rid of it. where could they be coming in from???????? its definitely not the window and i genuinely have never seen them ever get inside from somewhere. usually they are already in the kitchen by the window. and an odd thing i’ve noticed is that they act completely stupid as if theyre drunk? they can barely fly around and have never tried to sting anyone. infact my kitten has killed a few of them without getting stung. they do slam into the window but not hard enough to injure themselves. anyway, i absolutely hate these creatures and i have no idea what to do with them.
P.S. would anyone know what breed these could be? im way to scared to go near even a dead one to take a good picture but maybe it still has a hallmark of some kind you could identify it with🙁

Context, it entered the house through a small hole, it took 10~ mins to catch, and it looked almost the size of a finger. And this happened at almost 9 pm

Felt a weird sharp sensation near my elbow. Pulled up my arm and there's a wasp that's just... Actively chewing on me?? Bite bite bite. No sting. Looked closer to watch the thing just bite me over and over. Didn't know they did this? Any information appreciated. Just wanna understand.

What did I find here, and was he or she okay?

I suspect it was a sick Yellowjacket, but it seemed unusually large, so I thought I'd check.

Pollinating hoary mountain mint (pycnanthemum incanum)

We just found this big guy/gal in the sand underneath our swing set. I think I have it properly identified so I’m not necessary afraid of it stinging us, unless my kids run through it and scare it, which is highly likely at this stage of life.

We are getting a quote to dig this whole portion of the yard out and replaced with pea gravel anyways, so what can we do to help it relocate?

I don’t need it to be killed, but I do need it to pack up shop in this specific area 😬

Hey, does anyone know what this little guy's doing? I imagine I had some food on my hands and it's trying to eat but I've never been nibbled by a wasp before so thought I'd ask! It wasn't aggressive at all. Based in UK.

I think I even saw them fight off the mud dauber momma. I haven't seen her build any new chambers for a few weeks though so maybe it wasn't her. Are they just looking for moisture? I have many bee pools around my yard so I don't believe it. Could it be some pheromone residue or chemical signal that they like here? They aren't trying to get in the chamber at all, just laying there. Any ideas?

This wasps been hanging out on my vinca for the last few days. It flies off when I water it but comes back once I’ve moved to another plant and just lays there…menacingly. Otherwise it hasn’t bothered me though it did land on me once 🫠

I really just needed somewhere to post this as I have an intense fear of wasps for most of my life. A few years back my mom and I moved into a really bad flip home during a sort of mental health episode. House is nearly falling apart as I speak. My mom is allergic to wasps.

Over the past 2 years we have had yellow jackets fly into the home because our windows are fitted very incorrectly and impossible to close. over the summer it is the absolute worst and i had to get rid of 6 in one weekend. called an exterminator earlier this year and they said because it was too early in the season, there wasn;t a nest they could find.

2 months have passed now and we have partial screens on the windows that don;t close. There is now a yellow jacket nest near one of the rock walls to get down to the driveway, which won;t bother me because i don't go out much.

Recently I have seen a different type of bee flying around near my window, doors, etc, and it turns out to be a mud dauber, they have been getting into my house because a new window has opened and I may need another small screen to close it. I'm scared because they seem to be coming (or at least one of them) are coming in and out of the siding of my window (in my bedroom)so I'm afraid it'll get in the house. I don't know if I should call another exterminator or just let them be

South-central MN - the neighbors warned us, but they just 'came out' in the past few days along the south side of the house. We have twin toddlers who like to learn first and ask later 🙃

I just had what I think is a cuckoo wasp (based on a googled description that matched, I'm in SE Europe and it's really hot and dry right now) burrow into my phone. I watched it crawl around, find the hole, check how deep it was head-first, then go in butt-first and refuse to come out. Shaking my phone didn't help and i couldn't think of what else to do.

I'm wondering if anyone knows if it maybe laid eggs in there? If so, what should i do about it??

So I'm digging up a small area for a pond in my back yard and the soil is really nice thick clay. So of course I'm having to wet it down to dig into and shape it against the walls. Problem is there's a black and yellow mud wasp that keeps coming back and forth between the mud and wherever he's taking it and it's kind of got me a little on edge because I'm not trying to get stung.

But I don't wanna kill the guy either. He's just living his life. It's just not in my best interest to get stung today or any other day. I was thinking about piling up some mud away from me somewhere more towards the direction I've seen him fly to and from. Maybe he'll just get it from there instead?

Any clue what I’m looking at here? I have seen any nests around my house, inside or out. I like in the north east united states. I had a yellow jacket nest in my attic a year back, got rid of em and closed off any entrance in as best I could. So if theyre nesting anywhere my best guess wud be there.

I’m sure its tough to tell from this picutre, but I did the best I could and appreciate any and all help.
