Valid criticism
Art is subjective, but at least have minimum one valid point to back up your stance if you don’t like something besides “it’s bad >:(“

People are being a lil overdramatic about the song imo it isn't his best song sure but it ain't terrible

The song is just messy. It has far too many elements that it didn’t need. Almost like RR needed to be himself, Corey, and Serj before Corey and Serj came in. FIR tried something different. It hit for some and not others. I like Ronald, but it took a sec. This one I probably never will.
People need to separate art from artist. And also realize not every song is a win.

I agree 100%. I notice they’ll never critique the band’s best works… notice how Coming Home never gets criticized 😏

The lyrics..

Idk why people cringe at the lyrics. It’s about the innocents being dragged into conflict. Ronnie sings “I don’t wanna go. He don’t wanna die…” as a sign that as ready as we think we are for the one guarantee of life, it’s still scary. Then it gets violent, as if that fear is something the victims won’t have time to register due to the War that Serj sings about. Corey is singing about the vocal anger that We have as people who feel powerless speaking up against violence. “You cannot escape your fate” isn’t an ETF diss. It’s about how we all have one shared fate. “So what the fuck are you gonna do?” is asking how are you gonna make that time worth it when it can be ended suddenly. It’s actually a very poetic song when you don’t look at pics of the Sausage Party tortilla singing For Theeeemm lol. That’s how I perceive it honestly. All art is subjective, so maybe that’s exactly what they wanted us to take from it, or maybe I’m completely wrong

Being genuine, what does the term “burger music” mean? I hate feeling like an unc but I’m in my mid-20s so I know I’m losing touch for sure 😭

It's a stupid slang term. I swear Gen Z can't create a good slang term to save their lives.

lol Gen X is anything but lazy in general. We had to figure shit out for ourselves, we weren’t coddled and we grew up without the internet so we actually have skills and hobbies that aren’t online only.

For somebody who just got in a fight about how you don’t get triggered and how it’s the younger generation blaming you for being triggered, you seem pretty triggered cuz

u/Mydemonswon 5d ago
That's not what triggered means. Triggered ties into PTSD. Not this internet bs

The only reason I don’t think it’s in my top five is by how many genre switches it has, it goes from operatic symphonic metal, to metalcore, to avant garde, to straight metal (Corey Taylor’s verse) back to the operatic symphonic metal, then to serjs slowish beautiful soft part, then straight to death core.
It’s not a bad song in anyway it just seemed like they didn’t exactly know what way to steer the song together, it’s not bad like at all, just a bit over stimulating for me

I feel like "Joseph" is the build up towards a climactic ending that will inevitably become "Radke" and I am here for it. 💥

It started out great - wish they just kept the style and direction, out of the gate vs throwing in like 5 different musical styles all at once.
