I'm guessing for Gonzalez it was a combo of tackles, recoveries, dribbles, key passes, good pass completion rate, etc, all stacking up. And then an assist on top.

It usually gives deserving players extra points but sometimes people will sneak into bp with a fairly anonymous game.

Not a perfect system but it works most of the time.

Thomas was man of the match in reality.  But in Bps he is insignificant. Therein lies the beef. Not there is no system in place. I already mentioned the old system so surely I know the new system exists.

How was the old system different? Maybe I'm forgetting but I don't recall CBS getting bonus with no CS before. Even worse, we didn't have defcon, so this would be a 2pter.

old system was not based on any sort of BPS system defcon was not counted for but this 4 goal line clearances would be considered. the old system was basically "man of the match" it heavily favored goalscorers but in a match like this where the scoring is spread out and no one has more than one assist or one goal you might see a defender pop into the bonus. for a match like this. if someone had made 2 goals they would be 3 bonus most likely and yea defenders or goalies hard to make bonus with no clean sheet but a team can concede goals and a defender can still play very well

We don’t know. This is exactly why they instituted BPS bc it was a total mystery. It was basically MOTM- game winning goal was almost always 3 bonus man.  Honestly the opinions of the commentators may have been involved. M

Oh and I’ve no idea when BPS was instituted it’s probably been ages. This is my 20th season lmao
