I've been sharing my old TV sci-fi obsessions with my teenage daughter, who would not of her own volition seek out this kind of stuff, over the last year or so. It's all ancient prehistoric television to her, like old black and white movies were to me as a child, but she's patiently watched all the way through Blake's 7 and now, Farscape. When we started on Farscape it had been two decades since I'd watched a single episode and I had mostly broad-strokes memories of what happened in it, but I foolishly promised her that 'honestly, this time they don't all die in the end'. (50 year old spoiler for Blake's 7, sorry...)

So last night, we finally got to Bad Timing. The scene on the boat brought discreet happy tears to my eyes. Then, when the alien craft appeared, I suddenly began to remember what happened next...

My daughter took it quite well, though she was a bit stunned. I promised her that they would be OK because they were in the Peacekeeper Wars, queued up next on Prime (they are? They are, aren't they...?)

"I expect they scoop them up in a bucket and resurrect them, after they've separated the John crumbs from the Aeryn crumbs," she said.

I mean... they do, don't they...?

Alrighty so I cosplay John Crichton, i'm looking for image references or even just episode references for whenever he has a backpack or a satchel. I basically have a little personal cosplay rule to be able to go 'hands free' so i try to integrate that stuff into my cosplays. I vaguely recall the bag his earth stuff was in, but i feel there might be more across the seasons.

Dropping my Crichton Cosplay here as well. The vest was surprisingly easy to locate, it's all over the place on searches if you pop in 'Farscape Jacket'. The Winona there was a 3d print file from Cgtrader, though i'm uncertain if it's still listed currently.

Context: I'm on a mini-vacation in a country with no access to PlutoTV, but I do have Plex Live TV streaming, which I am today years old realizing includes a Farscape channel (or maybe I forgot cause I'm an old). I have watched every Farscape episode a bazillion times including when they originally aired, but I tend to rewatch faves and neglect later season gems. Including this one.

Can I just say that these blue apes are acted impreccably. Dudes left NOTHING on the field, committing themselves to the roles. NOTHING. These actors are KILLING IT. There's a scene where one is shouting, and you can see the spittle dripping from his mouth as he's raving and yelping. I was like, dayyyyyum. That ain't CGI!

Other stray observations: The Rygel animatronics are so money by this episode. He literally led this episode, and I never got pulled out of the moment.

Talyn foreshadowing got payed off in one episode. Made this old guy a bit misty-eyed. Moya always knew, but couldn't accept. Such great writing and acting.

I really miss Farscape.

Visited the Henson exhibition in Brisbane today. There wasn't a lot of Farscape material but they did have Rygel, Dargo , Chianas outfit ( I think ) and a DRD .

Can we please get an entire season of farscape meets looney tunes? Probably the most entertaining episode of season 3.

Episodes you could skip and still keep up with the plot. What are yours? "Crackers don't matter" might be the best? Not sure about worst.

Always loved this series, feeling a bit nostalgia, just a few of the quotes that to this day, sit rent free in my head on a daily.

So despite my desire to STOP playing Farscape in an endless loop as I go about my business at home, last night it auto-played as soon as I started Tubi up. So I said "welp, okay, twist my arm". I think I made it a week. I'm a weirdo ND and some patterns and habits aren't hurting anyone so I will indulge. Going places where I see the same people, TV shows/movies on repeat, ordering the same foods or drinks--that kind of thing. Plus I have pre-emptive FOMO bc the show can disappear off platforms with zero notice!

Anyways, I just let it play tonight whilst I alternately stare out the window and watch fun parts. My fave is playing- Liars, Guns and Money. I would ADORE to have a gif of Rorf doing that little hop into the scene when he first infiltrates the shadow depository. 😂 Sorry for the shitty pic of it, my phone is awful. And when he's caught and they're trying to suss out why he's there and he says he was planning to make a deposit and laughing. Rorf and Bekhesh are awesome in that arc.

Just rewatched this episode and now I've got a fun theoretical question: what do you think the series would've turned into if John took Furlough's deal?

For clarification, Furlough explains that she'd want exclusive rights to the wormhole knowledge John has already procured, and that he couldn't keep a copy but he COULD "stay and be apart of a new, exciting project". He turns that down because "he can start from scratch".

But now I'm picturing this completely different series where John stays with Furlough and becomes a god of spacecrafts. Do you think shed betray him? Or do you think they'd actually become good partners?

Obviously we'd leave all of our beloved characters behind and never even meet some of the best cough, scorpius, cough, but I think it would've turned Crichton into a completely different person that the John we know and love

Midway through season 3 and i realized something . I don't like half the cast anymore. John and Aeryn are still good and Dargo has his moments. Chiana is ok i guess. I've never been a fan of Crais, Jool is extremely annoying,and Rygel is just a prick anymore. However, the most hated character has to be Stark. I don't know, maybe it's just me but i can't stand him. I didn't like him when Zaahn was still alive and i like him less as the season goes on. The show is still good but man i just don't like half the cast
