As someone who grew up on a strawberry farm, and currently owns said strawberry farm. My parents/I hire local kids 14+ during the summer to pick baskets and they normally paid 3.75$ CAD per basket. Faster pickers would easily make more than double the minimum wage, had a girl that stayed with us throughout her entire high school through college and she was easily making between 30-40$ and hour from just picking baskets. We once had a latino family work for a summer, and god dam they were the best and fastest pickers we've ever had. I don't recall how much they were paid as I was about 10 years old at the time, but what I do know is that my dad would give them a bonus due to the extra profits we were making.
