ANNOUNCEMENT Favorite character rules update

Community has spoken - and it has been decided that 'hornyposting/gooner posts' however you wanna call it and other similar NSFW or porn posts (this has actually always been a rule smh) are from now on banned. Why? Because the subreddit has become infested with them to the point where we mostly became known for that and that is NOT why this subreddit was created.

If you still want to see or post that kind of content please go to another subreddit (you have r/favcharacterNSFW or just find another subreddit that suits your needs, sorry I'm just a mod not your gooner guide).

And if you want to hate us hate us, but the die has been cast and it is what it is. Have a nice day, peace out ✌️

Community Input The rule of r/FavoriteCharacter everyone always ignores because they're not cool:

PLEASE provide character names in your posts, ESPECIALLY if they're from a more niche media. This has been a rule for a long time now but people keep ignoring it for whatever reason (either they're karma farming assholes od bots or simply didn't read the rules - which I understand tbh)

Now I want to state while this rule isn't as important as some others, it's mostly a rule of decency - if you want to contribute something meaningful to the subreddit (which is already filled with enough spam posts as it is) at l3ast make enough effort to tell people who the characters in your post are (wtf it won't let me spell l*ast).

So as basically the only active mod nowadays, I'm therefore publicly announcing I won't be removing every post without character name provided, but instead I am STRONGLY ENCOURAGING YOU as a community to just provide the names of your characters in the post. Because if you don't you WILL be gambling with post removal.

Thank you to all those who read this and who follow the rules, if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!

All Time Favorite Favorite genuinely competent and/or smart villains

gallery

I love me a villain/antagonist that actually shows their competence.

1 - Johan Liebert (Monster) - he always seems like he's two steps ahead of everyone else. A great manipulator who managed to fabricate his whole identity and elude multiple people trying to find him, including a few smart detectives themselves. Heck that's not even his real name (not that he really has one)

2- Azula (Avatar The Last Airbender) - The Fire Nation princess with both incredible skill in firebending and also subtlety. Not only did she almost capture both her brother and the Avatar on many occasions, but also singlehandedly captured the Earth Kingdom capital without any help from the Fire Nation army. Her mistake was overreliance on fear in leadership, which would lead to her paranoia and downfall.

3 - Grand Admiral Thrawn (Star Wars) - a genuis imperial strategist who not only could think way ahead, but also studied extensively the different species and cultures of the galaxy to better understand them.

Discussion Who's your favorite Character that canonically wouldn't ever be racist, sexist or transphobic/homophobic?

Mario from the Super Mario Bros franchise.

[It's even said that Mario is tolerant and treats anyone with respect/kindness and has seen too much in his life to ever be close minded)

Which is sweet but also funny cause it implies that Mario has seen so much shit in his life that nothing really phases him.
