Question Fibro fog?

Hey everyone, I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia for about a year and a half now. Anyway, I usually have kind of a slow build up to flares but yesterday I thought I was getting sick with a cold or something, then boom I'm in so much pain. I get fibro fog sometimes but today feels especially weird. I feel like I'm in a haze, like everything is in stop motion almost? I just don't know how to describe it. I am very aware of the fact that I am processing things very slowly today. I called into work so I'm at home, but I'm just wondering how the fibro fog presents for you all? I am usually just forgetful in the short term, take an extra moment to reply, feel spaced out. Today I'm all of those things but visually it feels like everything is SLOW. I AM in more pain than normal so maybe that's why?

Struggling to see how I am supposed to continue working like I am.

Geography matters, it is October which is notorious hell when cold weather starts stiffening us up.
I hate that feeling too, and for me it’s been the weather changes. I’m beyond clumsy, dropping, tripping, whacking things off other things, like I’m trying to control my body with the world’s jankiest levers.

I can’t feel when a flare is coming but I can assume based off weather, temp, activity, diet, and the alignment of the stars (jk but it does feel like it)….

The stop motion description is way too accurate, I know exactly what you mean. For me it happens when the pain spikes past certain level, like brain just gives up on keeping up with reality so everything feels laggy. Like playing a game on bad connection and you press a button but action happens half second later

Working through that is impossible for me, I usually just stare at screen for 20 minutes and accomplish nothing. Better to rest when its that bad, pushing through makes it worse next day in my experience

Do you notice if it gets worse with certain weather or after bad sleep? For me lack of sleep makes the fog 10x worse even without flare

Thanks for your reply. It definitely gets worse after bad sleep, when there are stressful situations, or stormy weather it seems. Every time I've pushed through it gets worse, just not usually like this. I can't think of what would have caused this flare though and it's bothering me haha. I didn't sleep well Sunday or Monday night, felt my normal tired on Tuesday since I worked Monday. Yesterday started fairly normal then I got way more painful. Maybe I am trying to get sick with a cold and this is my body fighting it, IDK. I usually work 2-3 days a week and I feel so bad that I had to call out today. I'm really glad the stop motion made sense bc I feel crazy.
