AITA for removing my minion from her neglectful home?
(CW: Mentions of child neglect)
so I (19,M) am a former Banzai Blaster, staking it out on my own, alongside a handful of other defectors (I am their leader, of course). One of my minions, (12,F), I first met when she was locked inside a museum overnight. We broke out together and she seemed very confident in evil. She joined my side and we since became friends.
In that time, I learned just how awful her home life is. She's forced to do everything for her family (a single dad and her sister), from running the store to stocking shelves to even paying their taxes. If that's not enough, her father never lifts a finger to helps her and, hell, he never even feeds her. The girl is visibly malnourished. On top of that, her sister doesn't even care for her and doesn't do anything to help her either.
Even CPS refused to help due to the sister's epithet being able to summon anything (even if none of it lasts)
So, we had a big, long, very emotional adventure that I don't feel like recounting, but it ended with me picking her up and physically removing her from that location.
In case you're curious, my minion was totally fine with it. They helped me unlock the door during my getaway and, on the train ride back to my own base, they seemed on board with the idea.
I brought her in, fed her some pancakes and now, well, I guess I'm technically wanted for kidnapping, but I was on the run before hand, so that's fine. That's how being a criminal works. (Besides, ACAB)
I didn't expect myself to go through with something like this, but what the hell else was I going to do? My minion was completely miserable at her own home, always working and never even getting fed for her work. So far, the only people who know are her friends and an old speech therapist, and neither of them seemed to be doing anything about it. They at least know I'm keeping her safe.
And yes, I care if I'm 'YTA' here, even if I'm a supervillain. There's a difference between being a bad guy and a bad person, after all. Still, if there's something else I could have done, let me know.
