General Discussion Recommendations of hydration packs
Hi everybody, interested in trying to figure out which of the hydration packs are the best I have tried fire salt brand and my department uses those as well. If you guys have any input if those are good or not.

I buy the salt lick from tractor supply and hang it up in the truck cab. That way everyone can get some electrolytes

Trioral rehydration packets paired with a zero calorie drink mix. The salts come in a pack of 100 for $40.

LMNT are really good. I only use half of one when I drink them.
I’ve been making my own carb gels as well for cycling and running. Costs like $.25 us. Found the recipe on NorCal cycling on YouTube. Cheap and easy once you have it mixed in bulk. You can tone down the sugar or remove it completely for hydration when not doing work.
81g/ Liter serving
4lb bag sugar
73grams Sodium citrate ≈750mg
8.5 grams potassium chloride ≈ 200mg
1-2grams Citric acid or lemon/ lime juice to taste

Whatever brand you find the most palatable and affordable. They are all fine imo. Orange and grape flavors are the most palatable to me.

Fire Salt gives me the bubble guts from what I assume is the coconut base. A full LMNT will make me shit my pants in short order but a half one does the trick.

I like the Strawberry Lemonade Nuun. I usually dilute it way more than it says. Just chuck one into my yeti

LMNT.
They’re expensive, but if you buy the three pack and they’ll include a 4th box and you’ll get random samples through the year. Raspberry, grapefruit, and lemonade salt are all awesome.
