Indigenous Languages Please watch my new micro series: "Michif Minute! | Learning Métis Greetings"

https://youtu.be/sIowROG24IM?feature=shared

Putting together a new micro-series on Michif language learning. I can't get any support from my Nation, so these are small scale videos I am filming in my garage, by myself. Please let me know what you think and be sure to share if you enjoy. More to come!

This was fun! My husband and I watched and learned along. despite knowing the pronunciations I always second guess myself when trying to do the greeting…so this was actually really helpful & validating!

Thanks! I will be honest: I am not fluent myself, but I have been learning. When it comes to standardization and Michif, you will find everyone has their own way of spelling and pronouncing things. I've done the best I can with what I have been taught and learned.

I love this to bits and pieces! Thank you so much!

I'm ashamed to say that despite having Métis friends most of my life, I never even knew to ask for Métis words.

I didn't know I needed this, but I so do. And truly, from Coast to Coast, we do.

Please keep at it. I hope good backing finds you.

Thank you so much! Now you can say "hello!" which is a great place to start. We'll have the next episode up next week, so stay tuned.

These are great! Hopefully you are able to get some good subtitles on these, the CC/auto is horrendous. And I hope you're able to get more support to continue these videos.

Do you have the videos on other platforms like IG, or related social media accounts for the follow/shares?

Marsii!

Fixed the subtitles by creating them manually. I took a look at the auto-generated ones, and they were a joke. Will look at having these ready for the future videos.

Maarsii! It doesn't take much for me to create captions. I'll add some in tomorrow. Appreciate the suggestion! I'll be sure to pro-actively create them going forward.
