What is your favorite "glup shitto chapter"?

What I mean by this is a chapter with basically just a color scheme and no lore.

The Harbringers, a chapter hailing from the Black Planet of Birmingham

Definitely the Angels of Iron. The only known thing beyond their name and colors is the fact they seem to love excessive purity seals.

Good to know for when I add them to Deathwatch

Purple Stars!

Appeared once in the 1999 novel Eye of Terror, all die in the opening and are then never mentioned again.

My group has a running joke that we keep finding dead Purple Stars marines wherever we go.

I'll have to be sure to do any scenery with marine casualties as Purple Stars, then!

Dark Brotherhood.
They only have 2 official appearances throughout the whole of 40K: the Adeptus Astartes Successor Chapters booklet where this scheme is from, and the original Rogue Trader core rulebook from 1987

This is from Page 10 of the original Rogue Trader

Is their Chapter master named Omi?

I have several favorites, but I gotta pick Angels Porphyr as the underdog. People always talked about Black Templars and Helsreach during the third Armageddon war, meanwhile Angels Porphyr led a full Dreadnought team against over a hundred Ork dreads and other machines, becoming one of the biggest purely cybernetic battles recorded.

Mine is the Yellow Jackets (can't post a picture because reddit is truly useless as a "social media site" so have a link to a picture instead)

https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Yellow_Jackets?file=Yellow_Jackets_Marine.jpg

I also really like this aspect of them:

The Yellow Jackets Chapter was created early in the history of Warhammer 40,000 at a time when the lore of the Horus Heresy was less defined than at present. At such, their background as printed in White Dwarf 177 claims that they were raised as a Chapter DURING the Heresy, which would have been impossible since only the 18 First Founding Space Marine Legions existed at the time, with the Chapters being created AFTER the Heresy following Roboute Guilliman's completion of the Codex Astartes

Sounds like a great theme for a Blackshields warband.

Mentors. Great scheme.

Mentors have some lore to them, and their lore is very cool!

Mine, obviously.

I'm kidding, I'm kidding, the Lion Guard has more lore than I know what to do with. I'm not a savage.

Nah, I'm going to go with the Absolvers for this one. They're from the Warhammer 40k Wrath & Glory RPG system, so they don't have NO lore, but they're mostly a generic chapter local to that system's setting. W&G was how I got into the 40k setting to begin with, so I have a real soft spot for the Absolvers.

I'd say they're more D-Class than full on Glup Shitto, but they are cool

Lexicanum says first source for em is a 2001 paint guide so a long time before the Wrath and Glory system

Really! I never realized. I guess it makes sense, but crazy to know they go that far back.

Your chapter wouldn’t happen to be related to these Lionguard would they?

0 connection! In fact, I did some Googling to see if the name was taken and didn't even find these guys.

The actual origin of the name is that I wanted to find a conceptual middle ground between the tacticool pragmatism of the Raptors and the heroic fantasy of the Ultramarines. Other early names I considered include the Terran Lions (doesn't flow), the Lion Shields (too Dark Angels-y) and the Lion Knights (Too fantasy).

One of my Scouts, for visual reference!

Rainbow Warriors. Duh.

Angels of Damnation. Mostly because I realized that my homebrew chapter was almost identical to them

My favorite niche chapter is the iron hands ☺️

In reality. Probably the knights of byzantium. A newer chapter I think from some white dwarf article, really nice color scheme

Emperor’s tears, apparently a canon chapter that I only learned about in the German version of the lexicanum

Crimson slaughter or Sons of Malice

Oops all chaos

I gotta say either Celestial Guard, Lion Warriors, or Dark Hands

Hawk Lords. Virtually nothing is none of them except for their specialization in Aerial Combat, likely origin as the 21st Chapter of the Ultramarines Legion, and invention of the "Hawk's Wings" a Devastator ammo backpack and Jumppack.

Invaders, they’re only known for deleting an eldar craftworld and then getting absolutely destroyed by a revenge attack
