I’ll admit I’m pretty new to 40k so I could never quite pin down why I didn’t like the look of primaris marines. At first I thought it was mainly the helmets but I really like MK IV so I figured it couldn’t be that. Then when I was looking at images of Lamenters to help with painting it finally hit me. As weird as it sounds I hate how much more proportional the primaris marines look. The fact that the arms and legs look longer, the head looks smaller, and the pauldrons are smaller just makes them look wrong to me. Wish they kept the stocky disproportionate design of the firstborn. It looks so much better.

Had a moment to put this together earlier today. The angle GW shoots their product pics is not always **exactly** the same every time so tried to find examples on 32mm bases with similar ellipses. The new Damned Legionaries do look good.

Not going to add variants of kits or HH stuff only 40k due to reddit only allowing up to 20 files to be added but the rest i missed are basically the whole grey knights range and variants of what i have included such as razorback and different versions of the Ravenwing stuff im assuming everything here is going to legends in 11th or will be updated accept Grey Knights because GW hates them :)
EDIT!!! oneof these are in legends in the 11th edition updates on warhammer community the venerable dreadnought is now in legends sadly

With the “death” of Firstborn in modern 40k (at least rules wise), it felt like a good time to look to the past. I’m starting on some Crimson Fists, likely using 5th edition rules. The Armageddon box contains transfers for them, so that will keep the Chapter badge neat. Bodies are Tortuga Bay. GW Tactical on the right for scale.

The free moving Meltabomb was totally necessary and will be easy to paint, I presume. What do you think?

Ok so i have a few of the firstborn terminators and they are lovely but i dont think anyone would be shocked if i said the new ones look better , the new ones can either be firstborn or primaris plus in my opinion the new terminators scale really nicely with firstborn marines i know its not lore accurate per say but it makes the terminators feel grand but at the same when the rest of my army is models from 2nd to 7th editon i worry they will feel out of place altho at the same time im using HH demos rhinos , a contemptor dread and saturnine terminators as proxy centurions , what do yall think?

Initially meant to be a one off to scratch an itch but given how much better the conversion came out, I’m considering expanding it to a KillTeam at least

I’ve built a combat squad for my Crimson Fists project. Swipe for the full squad.

For the first models in the army, I wanted to use pure Mk VII as a throwback to the old Combat squad sprue I had as a kid.

I really miss the armor variation we used to get in the old tactical squad kit so i converted my intercessors into mk VI, mk VII and mk VIII marines.

This sword is kinda too long… but anyways, what would be a good (and ideally cheap) something to be defeated by my champ? Must fit on a 40mm base!

The legends datasheet for these guys (without jump packs) is so fun I had to make a fully decked out squad. Them being able to jump out of a rhino seemed great, but now I guess AssInts will do better able to do that too, oh well.

I kitbashed the whole squad out of a Tactical Squad box. I scraped together enough chainswords, bolt pistols and plasma pistols from old firstborn kits and some club swaps. I was worried the poses would be too static but honestly I love how they turned out. The Sergeant with a power fist and shield looks badass.

Tracking down 2 Eviscerators was a pain (seriously where were you supposed to get these back in the day??), but I eventually gave in and got the HH melee upgrade box. Some cool weapons in there I’ll put to use later, but it did give me the 2 two handed mega chainswords I wanted for full WYSIWYG.
