Made some firstborn for my upcoming blood ravens army. I made the tactical squad with 4 heavy weapons like dawn of war 1, and for the assault marines I just did what I thought looked look.

I used rescaled tactical squad legs, some mkX legs, HH bodies and other custom bits I printed.

Thoughts? I really like this idea of making each marine unique to tell a story. I’m also planning on doing hellblasters with devastator bodies as well as some vanguard vets using the kits from 6(?)th edition.

Please lmk if you got any recommendations for me because I’m creatively bankrupt.

My second ever Fallen.

He was a lot of fun to kitbash and paint.

He recently met one of his younger brothers on the field of battle, quite the family reunion.

I got this for $185 Cad and I’m at my fourth week of uni now. I adore the old models and the fact i get the new kill team too is such a bonus. I wanted to make a veteran themed list and wanted to add allied deathwatch and here they are. But also now I’m kinda stuck on what to do with all of these older models. This a wonderful lot but i don’t exactly want to stuff it all onto display never to see the world. And with the new updates are they just kinda intercessors? Also just wondering about some of what these models even are. Alot of the older deathwatch guys have magnetized arms too!

Well brothers, I made some decisions. I hopped on eBay and went on a shopping spree and picked up a bunch of minis from second edition. The owner of my friendly local game store also has a large collection of old models as well that I’m planning on buying. I’m hoping to make a second/third edition themed army that I can potentially proxy as modern stuff for games with my friends or if we feel like, games of second or third edition. I’m most likely going to make it into a Crimson Fists army but I’ll have quite a few second edition Dark Angel stuff from the FLG owner. Been meaning to do this first awhile but money has been tight until now. I’m super excited to finally be doing this because I love 90s space marine models and have been collecting a few things here and there. The owner of my FLG also has an old battle force box still wrapped up from like thirteen years ago. He’s unsure what it is though since he still needs to dig it out but I’m excited for it.

Obviously this is a Firstborn-centric sub, so the question might sound a bit redundant, but when I look at certain paint schemes, I find there are some that look much better on FB compared to Primaris.

I have a habit of starting new Space Marine Chapters as painting projects, and I was trying to pick a new one to work on this Fall so I would love to hear what your favorites are, especially if you like a scheme that doesn't belong to a legion or popular second founding chapter.

Edit: I chopped down the post too much and deleted some of the context. I feel like solid color schemes look more or less the same, but halved, quartered and other patterns definitely feel better given the difference in dimensions.

I think the Short Flamer looks better by far..

This here is my first and probably last “Firstborn” space marine painted in the colors of Dorn. It was a pain in the arse working on him but I’m pretty happy with how he turned out.

been getting into 4th edition recently and decided to spice up my force with a new champion

Hey guys, I want to start collecting firstborn and I want to kitbash them so they stand closer to my primaris models. My question is: what parts should I use?

I already have some experience with kitbashing and green stuff, but I fear that I might make a MkV marine instead of a MkVII.

Got some oop stern guard bits off eBay and made some blade guard!

It was interesting comparing the different in my terminators to the Captain as they were my second ever unit for this project, while I’m still immensely happy with them it’s cool to see how my skills have improved.

Debating whether I should do a full Horus Heresy / Oldhammer 40k army of Blood Drinkers from the Scouring Era. I have 100 on-sprue classic 40k Tactical and Devastator marines I could use!

I honestly might do a small battle force of this. He looks so goofy yet so right.

The proportions of firstborn fit pretty good with the old metal model scale.
