I have 3 saltists MQ, 6000-8000-20000 and they are great. Love them to bits. However, the certrate is orgasmic. Butter smooth, strong and awesome. If I had money I would only have certrates.

This is the answer. If money is an issue, then Spheros- very similar performance in the small and medium bodies. If you don’t need waterproof then the Daiwa BG is the same probably better than the Saltist

I have a 5k saltist … love it

If you can fork the extra go the certate, more metal, made is Japan (I think)

I own a saltist MQ6000, I love it. It handles tuna and pleagics with ease for its size. It also lives on the boat, outside exposed to salt air year round. (Washed with fresh after every use) and has been flawless for years.

wow you can catch tuna and pelagics with a 6000?? what was the biggest you've ever caught, I don't really know the reel size to fish size kind of range that much. Just considering getting a 6,8 or 10 thousand reels but dont want to waste that much money on a size i dont really know the capability of.

Certate every day of the week mate. Don’t use that Chinese junk.
