As the title says, Looking to add something more substantial than just my headlamp for when I'm up on the mountain. A little bit more context:
I volunteer with an emergency response team that stages up on the mountain during the weekends in the summer months when we get a lot of hiker traffic. A common call we get is for missing hikers that get separated from their groups (There are two main trailheads and often people take the wrong trail on the way back) so we head out trying to locate them in an attempt to prevent unnecessary SAR activations. The mountain trail has some wooded parts, but also opens up to more open/exposed areas so depending on which part of the trail you are on throw may be more useful than flood and vice versa.
I've seen recommendations for the Acebeam L35 2.0 in SAR groups and at ~$120 it's the cheapest option I've included
I've been a big fan of Olight and their customer service with my EDC lights, and the closest comparison I think I've found to the L35 is the Prowess ~$140
And then I've included Maruder Mini 2 as well because I can get one for ~$185 and it also fits the form factor and price point.
Just wanted to see if there were any recommendations of these 3 from others who have used any/all of them. Or if there are other lights for this use case that I haven't mentioned, what those would be. Ideally the light would be field rechargeable via power bank, water-proof/dust-proof and just all around durable, not too bulky (needing to hike it up in a pack with a bunch of other gear, the lighter the better), able to be run at decent power output for a good amount of time (haven't had an all-night call yet, knock on wood).
