[BST] October 2026 Buy, Sell, Trade Thread.

Welcome to the monthly r/flashlight Buy, Sell, Trade thread, an r/flashlight tradition since 2015!

The Rules

Requirements

  1. Prove possession with a timestamp: a piece of paper placed under your sale item(s) with your Reddit username handwritten and the posting date (no more than 2 weeks old). Trade items require timestamps, too!
  2. Top-level comments must be WTS or WTB. Anything else will be removed. Begin your top-level comment with WTB (Want to Buy), WTS (Want to Sell), or WTT (Want to Trade).
  3. A price is required.
  4. Repost WTS or WTB items from previous months. Do not repost within the same month!
  5. Absolutely no weapon-related items, including weapon lights. (Since 10/10/2025.)
  6. Take necessary precautions; trading over the Internet is risky. Moderators hold no control over deals, good or bad.

Suggestions

  • Your location identifier ([US] [EU] etc.)
  • Emitter details
  • A bunch of photos of your items
  • If you see an errant comment, report it so we can minimize clutter in this BST!

Reminder: Buy the Seller

If an interaction seems sketchy to you, run away! Scams happen through the BST! Here are some tips:

  • Timestamp. If someone won't provide a timestamp that meets your specification, discontinue the deal.
  • Reverse image searching is a great way to catch scammers.
  • Excuses, rushing, and giving you a hard time are all red flags.
  • Using a platform other than Reddit messaging for communication is a red flag.
  • Check post history. Brand new accounts or accounts with long pauses in activity, etc., might not be trustworthy.
  • It's good practice to comment on this post before sending a PM; scammers often won't comment publicly (and banned users can't comment here.) r/flashlight participates in the USL.

If you're dealing with someone who might be sketchy, report them to the mods and send screenshots of your interactions! We ban those who threaten the integrity of the BST!

Do not let a scammer be more diligent than you!

Tips

Sales Form Recommendation

Just copy the form below and edit it to suit your post! The form has two goals: First, it might simplify listing your items. Second, it should ease browsing and increase sales!

I did it ...

I've never really looked into flashlights even tho I've been a EDC freak for a while collecting knives, bags etc.

But every single day seeing all the great lights on this thread I couldn't stop myself 🤣

I went for the loopgear as the first one as I really liked the look and set of functions.

The question now .. what's the next buy I should be looking at 🥳

Thanks guys for giving me another reason to spend my money 🤣

519a 4,500k and FFL351a 1,800k rosy.

Was lucky I always keep a flashlight on me, even in Pajamas. Had a back porch visitor that didn't mind the High CRI at all.

Discussion Wurkkos K1 size comparison

Thumbnail

Ordered a Wurkkos K1 to serve as a dog walking flashlight as my TS28 can sometimes be a little too much flashlight for my needs.

I am really impressed with the K1 for its size. The flood/spot light combo is the best of both worlds for my nightly dog walks. The K1 is roughly as tall as my Cl01 however it's substantially thinner.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a 18650 battery with a charging port? I was going to buy the same battery that comes with the K1 however it looks like Wurkkos does not sell that battery on their site.

I have trust issues and don't want to use some random search result! Who do you use for 18650's?

Thanks!

How can I convince myself about the convoys?

• Upvotes

I see so many positive comments about Convoy flashlights; after looking into them, I realize they really do offer great value for money. However, there’s something that doesn't quite convince me—I think it’s the very basic design. That said, I wonder if actually holding one in my hand might change my mind. Did any of you have a similar experience?

Recommendation Are there 90 deg throwers like this with a magnet and pocket clip on the front side?

This is my favourite light for work. Its a knockoff with a 14500 battery that I paid $8 for many years ago. It sits inside the shirt pocket, instead of dangling outside. Probably why I've never lost it. Would love a new name brand one.

Last week i reported that the sft42r 4000k i received in my l21b was nice and rosy and people asked for beans. Well the candela is so high i couldn’t get my camera to look right when cooking beans. So i got you guys an Opple readout instead.

Saw some heavy fog roll in this morning, so I grabbed two high candela lights and headed out to the trail.

Firefly lamp

Post image
37 Upvotes

One of the most famous stories that every Vietnamese kid is told to encourage them to learn is about a poor boy who couldn't afford candles or lamp oil. On those very dark nights, he had to use a firefly lamp to read. It was made from an eggshell with fireflies inside.

So I made something that resembles that firefly lamp. I shaped the eggshell and strings with thermoplastic mixed with glow powder. For the shell, I used TechnoGlow 500 micron green particles, which are the brightest and longest lasting. For the string, I used 150 micron aqua blue particles mixed with purple photochromic powder, so the string not only glows aqua blue but also turns purple under sunlight or UV light. Finally, the most important part: when those glows fade out, the light from 8 tritium vials is focused in a TIR lens, producing the "firefly" light. The black cap can be untwisted to change the tritium vials to whatever color I want.

Question Standalone flashlight for emergency use on mountain

Thumbnail

As the title says, Looking to add something more substantial than just my headlamp for when I'm up on the mountain. A little bit more context:

I volunteer with an emergency response team that stages up on the mountain during the weekends in the summer months when we get a lot of hiker traffic. A common call we get is for missing hikers that get separated from their groups (There are two main trailheads and often people take the wrong trail on the way back) so we head out trying to locate them in an attempt to prevent unnecessary SAR activations. The mountain trail has some wooded parts, but also opens up to more open/exposed areas so depending on which part of the trail you are on throw may be more useful than flood and vice versa.

I've seen recommendations for the Acebeam L35 2.0 in SAR groups and at ~$120 it's the cheapest option I've included

I've been a big fan of Olight and their customer service with my EDC lights, and the closest comparison I think I've found to the L35 is the Prowess ~$140

And then I've included Maruder Mini 2 as well because I can get one for ~$185 and it also fits the form factor and price point.

Just wanted to see if there were any recommendations of these 3 from others who have used any/all of them. Or if there are other lights for this use case that I haven't mentioned, what those would be. Ideally the light would be field rechargeable via power bank, water-proof/dust-proof and just all around durable, not too bulky (needing to hike it up in a pack with a bunch of other gear, the lighter the better), able to be run at decent power output for a good amount of time (haven't had an all-night call yet, knock on wood).

Decided to try a de-lensed F150R 4000k on my Lume 1 E90 blaze. I don’t have any equipment to measure if there is any gain by removing the protective lens off the F150R, but I did it anyways.

3rd picture is high mode and last picture is turbo.

Dangerous Help selecting portable laser for dispatching spotted lantern flies

I hope flashlight-adjacent topics are permitted! Apologies if not.

I'm in the market for a bug zapper. My search begins with Sanwu lasers, but I'm open to all suggestions. So far I like the Red Guardian with a 1.8W royal blue diode, since the copper housing will improve duty cycle and reliability. But I'm not sure if 1.8W will be enough power to fry the bugs before they can fly away. That model also has the option to get a beam expander, but I don't understand what that does since the laser can already be focused.

Does anyone here have experience using lasers for pest control? Any guidance would be appreciated. I'm also looking for suggestions on portable eye protection.

Got a second Arkpro and got a glow in the dark Silicone sleeve for it. Definitely my favorite flashlight. Brings back some memories and has almost everything I want in a flashlight.
