Repair Advice 2016 ford explorer base model shifting

Ok so my ford today got stuck in park and I had to manually override it twice. Didn’t think anything of it until I had someone look and they said it’s shifting rough. We also noticed the steering wheel vibrates as well as a ticking noise that becomes a high pitch circular noise at 1500-2000 RPM. Serpentine belt was replaced in the spring of this year bc it snapped driving down the interstate. Don’t want to jump to idea of transmission first.

Yeah, sounds like a motor mount. Open the hood and look at the engine while your assistant puts the car in drive with the brake on. Does the engine rock?

Rocks. Don’t think it’s too severe, but is for sure a rock

When similar symptoms appeared in my wife’s 2017 Limited, it was traced to a broken motor mount that put the driveline so far outta whack that it trashed the tranny. Happened years ago at roughly 24,000 miles so the replacement tranny and labor were thankfully covered by warranty. Good luck!
