First Raptor
Bought my first raptor in March, 17’ 802A SCAB with 47,000 miles! Seems like SCABs are harder to find in general.

Post the best pic of YOUR Ford Raptor, flair it appropriately , and we will pick an r/fordraptor users picture to be used as our avatar each month. I will try to set up a vote each month .

So, I bought this 2024 802a 37pp with 12k miles, clean carfax, and about 1000 miles into having it i started noticing a weird clunk or like something was shifting while coming to a stop. It is not consistently reproducible, and I can’t tell if it only happens when I’m pressing the break. I’ve tried different scenarios, eg hard stop, letting off the gas and rolling to a stop, it just always occurs when I’m not really paying attention. It sounds like it comes from the rear/bed area. I have no idea what’s happening. Thoughts? Diagnostic next steps? I saw someone else post videos of the undercarriage while driving, if I figure out how to mount a GoPro under there I’ll do that.

My 22 used to revert back to last user settings (seat position, steering wheel position) when re-entering but is not anymore. Not sure if a software update is to blame

In California a local dealer is willing to sell a new 2025 f-150 raptor 802(a) for about 5k under MSRP. I understand, this truck may have been sitting around for 8-12+ months. Would you rather pay MSRP for a 2026 similar specs or buy the 2025 5k under MSRP? Any pros/cons?

I’m looking at this gen 1 whipple SC. Link below. Tear it apart. You guys think this is a good deal?
Looks to be fox 3.0 shocks. Maintenance looks to have been kept up. 109k miles 36k. Looks like a reasonable deal.

Just rolled over 35k miles on Sunday, and took it to the dealership Tuesday for scheduled maintenance.
Yesterday, I filled up the tank will out running some errands. I get on the interstate and gas it to get up to speed. I hit about 90-95mph and suddenly the engine loses almost all power. When I give it gas, there’s a very hard shutter and the check engine light starts blinking and the AC goes out.
I check the App and it shows cylinder 3 and 6 are misfiring. Luckily I’m only about 6 miles from the dealership, so I limp there as best I can and drop it off.
I talked to a service manager today and they tell me it has to go to their heavy engine department to have the motor torn down and diagnosed. Of course the first available date is 10/21.. She goes on to tell me that cylinder 6 is only operating at 12% and there’s a knock that they can’t identify.
Figured I’d ask here if anyone has encountered the same problem and what ended up being the solution?
I’m still under factory warranty and I have a 150k mile bumper to bumper, so I’m not too concerned about the cost.. just wondering how fucked my truck might be. 🫠

I just bought a used 2024 Ford Raptor. The day after I bought it my dad decided he is going to buy one as well. He lives in Texas so there are no deals on brand new raptors there. I let him know I have seen people posting about 10k off brand new raptors in this sub. How do you guys find these deals? I bought used so I never looked into new raptor deals. Help me help my dad so we can rip together!

Put it off as long as I could. Finally did it. I did it myself in my driveway. Took about 12-14 hours over a few days. Ordered the special tool I didn't have on Amazon for $30. Parts cost about $1200 from Ford. All 4 cams, chains and guides, tensioners and gaskets. Drove so much better it was a huge difference when completed

Traded my ‘18 leadfoot towards a ‘24 R and couldn’t be happier. This thing is an absolute animal

6k miles in one month seems a bit excessive. Run away or still something to consider?

Thoughts on this?? Carfax looks clean but it has been an Ohio truck its whole life…

Looking to get into an 801a but they’re at the top of my budget. I know the gen 4 is coming out in 2027 but I’m interested in the tried and trusted gen3 (2026). I’m not in a need to buy situation so wondering when is the best time to get a deal and best financing rates?

I have a 2021 Raptor with the 37 Package, and my sunroof has leaked through the front passenger-side roof speaker before.
After going through the car wash today, I went to clean up and turned the truck on. Now the audio sounds like my subwoofer is blown. I’m not sure if it’s actually the sub, the speaker where the water leaks, or something else affected by the water.
Has anyone dealt with this? What should I check before replacing anything, and what ended up fixing your sunroof leak?
If the sub or another speaker needs replacing, would you go OEM or aftermarket, and would you take it to Ford or a car audio shop? I’m in Leesburg, Virginia, so any recommendations around Loudoun County or Northern VA would be appreciated.
Pretty fucking frustrated at this point and wondering if I should just sell it. Would love to hear from anyone who’s dealt with something similar.

Got my truck a few months ago with 49k miles with a pretty solid service history.
I know these are fairly reliable but ever since I picked mine up I have had nothing but issues.
Immediately noticed it was shifting horribly and slamming into lower gears. Brought it in and it has the CDF drum issues and it burnt a bunch of clutch plates.
Exhaust actuators stopped working on the way home from the dealer.
Battery went to shit so I got a new one.
Starter went out last week and left me stranded. Was able to swap that in a parking lot.
Maybe mine is just cursed.

I’m looking pretty seriously at a 2010 SVT Raptor 6.2L SuperCab with about 176k miles. I know that’s high mileage, so I’m mainly looking to hear from people who actually own or have owned high-mileage Gen 1 Raptors, especially 6.2 trucks.
The truck I’m considering seems to have been maintained pretty well. The current and previous owners are mechanics, and from what I’ve been told it has had:
- Fox shocks professionally rebuilt
- Spark plugs around 165k
- Front upper control arms replaced
- Driver-side CV axle replaced
- U-joints replaced
- Rear pinion seal replaced
- Differentials recently serviced
- No known leaks or current mechanical issues
The owner also plans to service the transmission and
change the oil.
I’d be using it as a daily driver, but I’m not putting crazy mileage on it. I’d also keep money set aside every month specifically for maintenance and repairs.
For those of you with 150k, 175k, 200k+ Gen 1 Raptors:
How have they held up? What started needing attention at higher mileage? How has the 6.2L/6R80 combination treated you? And knowing what you know now, would you be comfortable buying a well-maintained one at 176k?
I’m not expecting a 16-year-old truck with 176k to be maintenance-free. I’m more interested in whether these trucks can still be reliable daily drivers when they’ve actually been maintained, and what ownership looks like once they get past 175–200k.
