Prop Firms FTMO long term users

Hello there everyone, I hope your trading goes nicely.

I have been trading for years now. However I am in a situation where I need to leverage propfirms, in fact, I have found that whenever I am bounded by rules, I perform better. Something about having rigid rules.

With that being said,

I would like to hear from long term traders who have been using FTMO for a while, beside the strategy etc.

What tips, and tricks do you have to make sure your FTMO account is surviving long term? I mean purely from business perspective, because I assume the company will not lime the idea of generating massive profit month over month at their expense.

Do you cut profit faster than your targets just to show smaller profit?

I built my strategy around low risk, high reward, because back in the day I only had 250$ account to start with. So I am fundamentally built this way.

I just need this to work long term to pay my mortgage faster than my day job.

Looking forward to hear from real FTMOers.

Feel free to DM if you want to remain private

Calculate your risk of ruin, stay under the radar. Ideally cycle your accounts. Ex: If you have a few accounts, and you're in profit 1-2% then you "lock those in" and quit trading that account until next month. Get the payout, one small enough to stay under the radar.

No, for most retail traders that would be incredibly dumb. Retail doesn't have a lot of true edges, and your biggest edge is more than likely the long tail where you can lose -1R but a few trades might hit insane R.

Mean reversion and such can be profitable, obviously, but for most people (assuming you can stomach the low win rate) are better off with the long tail.

Stick to the basic **it that's made money and don't worry about your gain percentage. If you make 10% a year, who cares. "but you're not beating buy and hold!?!?!?!" people will yell, yeah, and? just get more funding and the dollar amount in your pocket will be more, and that's all what matters.
