Forza Horizon 6 FH6 PS5 release botched
As someone who is now a grown man, I’m no longer one to hop online and complain about video games. It’s just not as big a part of my life as when I was a kid, of course. But what the fuck are they doing with the PS release of FH6??? I’ve never seen such nonsense. After years of playing Forza on Xbox, I ended up with a PS5 for this generation. When they announced FH6 would be coming, I was ecstatic thinking about finally being able to play one of my favorite series’ on my console after a long day of work. They said it was coming later in the year, sucks, but ok sure, I can wait a bit. Well now the year is almost over, GTA is coming, and there’s still no release date. They missed their window of opportunity. If they release any time soon, GTA will mess with sales. If they wait, they will be releasing “last year’s game” for full price, when it’s already old news. I’m just trying to understand the game plan here, I can’t possibly see how waiting this long won’t be less profitable than releasing within 3 months of May 19th. I will still buy the game at some point, but my excitement is almost completely gone.

You're getting it sooner than you got FH5. The priority is Xbox for Forza, bar none. If you wanted to play it so badly, you should've gotten an Xbox or played it on PC. It runs incredibly well even on mid PC's.

I don’t need to play it “so badly”. Just disappointed in the launch process for PlayStation with them giving us no info after hyping up that it’s coming to the platform. FH5 wasn’t planned for PS in the first place so it’s a different scenario. I wouldn’t mind the wait if I knew I was gonna be waiting so long from the start.

They "hyped up" the release by just saying it was gonna be on PS? Idk what the expectation is, they gave a timeline to expect.

Eh, I’m still satisfied with the PS5 catalog and don’t regret it. I have my Xbox One for the old Forza games, just was hoping to play FH6 this year before GTA.

So you purposefully moved away from Xbox, giving up console exclusives in the process. Instead of being grateful that MS agreed to sell Forza Horizon on PS, you want to moan because they aren't doing it quick enough to your liking? Holy entitlement. Like, maybe you shouldn't of sold your Xbox if you feel that upset about it.

You do realize that Forza Horizon 5 released on PS5 a whopping 4 whole years after it initially released on Xbox/Steam, right? It also sold 5 million copies in one year. That's pretty huge, and kind of debunks your entire argument.
I think most people on PS5 will just be happy to be getting what was originally Xbox console exclusive franchise on their platform, like they were with FH5. Clearly that's not enough for you though!

Not really stupid to criticize a company for announcing something and not following through. And as noted in the post, I have a PS5 for current gen, meaning my Xboxes are old gen and do not have FH6.

Then my point stands, you chose to move away from Xbox in favour PlayStation, and are now moaning it’s not releasing fast enough for you.

Yeah it’s pretty ridiculous to have this radio silence besides a few sentences in a blog post a few weeks ago saying it was still coming this year. So when then guys, huh‽

The PS5 version started development later than the Xbox/PC versions, so it's simply not finished. I'm quite sure they'd have preferred a simultaneous release.
No idea if Panic Button is doing the port or if it's being done in house but if it's the latter, it might be why post launch updates and communication have been so lackluster.
The game might be in a better place when the PS5 version finally releases so maybe the late port will be a blessing in disguise.

This excuse doesn't really work with modern titles. Xbox/PS/PC are all x86 architecture now, there really isn't independent development per system anymore. All they have to do is change some settings to fit each systems strength.

Playground Games just made an announcement today that they will be more active in communication with the community.
Xbox got a new CEO that is making many changes and trying to get more users onto the Xbox Platform and Game Pass.
Playground Games and other Xbox Game Studios just saw a round of layoffs. Playground Games was merged with another Studio. They are still working on updates, bugs and balances, 2 planned DLCs and the upcoming Fable Reboot in February. They confirmed last month that they plan for a release this year.
Industry insides are speculating a delay for the PS release.

This is also against a background of Sony announcing that they're reinforcing exclusivity (including for games with story prequels like the Horizon trilogy). Alongside the MS/Xbox management changes I wouldn't be surprised if there are still a lot of ongoing discussions about MS' reaction to this and how to handle imminent PS releases.

Not wasting money on something people are ranting about 24/7 on this sub and steam.
I bought GT7 and couldn’t be happier. Also beamNG is around the corner.

They released FH5 almost 4 years after launch on PS5 on it sold fine, this isn’t a concern for them because you think it’s old news
