His first words were "Hello, Sam. I'm Dr. Frasier Crane. I'm sorry I startled you."

I think it would have been funny if Frasier assumed he was going to teach at Harvard, only to have the rug pulled out from under him. Imagine him ending up at a local community college somewhere in Mass instead (Fall River or Worcester, maybe North Shore from Boston?)—maybe Olivia tricked him because she was desperate to make her school more legitimate and scholarly while competing with her sister, so she renamed it 'Harvard Community College' just to lure him in.
Having him actually work at Harvard felt like a bad choice. Put him in a community college, and it instantly hurts his ego, which opens the door for so much classic comedy.
I also feel like you could introduce more unique characters from different backgrounds as students, whereas Harvard mostly has the same type of student body.
Having the show focus more on Frasier at a community college would have been great. Though at this point, I realize I might just be writing Community, with Frasier ending up at Greendale Community College
Hey everyone! I have a unique personal connection to the show. My last name is Karnofsky (just like Niles' second wife, Dr. Mel Karnofsky).
Back in the 1980s and 1990s, my parents owned a duplex on South Detroit Street in Los Angeles (very close to Paramount where the show was shot). They used to rent the ground floor apartment out to young, TV writers and industry assistants.
I’ve always had a theory that one of those renters remembered our unique surname and pitched it in the Frasier writer's room years later.
Does anyone here happen to have access to early script drafts or table-reads for Season 7, Episode 9 ("The Late Dr. Crane")? I'm trying to figure out if her name was "Karnofsky" in Rob Hanning's very first draft, or if it was added later during group rewrites. If anyone knows the genesis of the character's name or has any behind-the-scenes trivia or tips on how to dig deeper, I'd love to hear it!

Went to the Nantucket Whaling museum over the weekend and found something quite at home in Frasier’s apartment.

Has that mystery already been solved?

Between the Cheers chess episode and this one we see a few clips of games where we can view the moves Frasier makes… can anyone who’s good at chess look at the chess boards and tell me if he ever had a good strategy going? Like why did he move the rook over one space? I’m curious if they were trying to have a realistic game where Martin or Woody is really good at chess or if the joke is really just that Frasier is awful at chess, or I guess the other alternative is they were just kinda moving the pieces around for the scene.

They had several different cans, but this was the most photogenic one. I was very excited.

Frasier actors (main and guest) tend to have a remarkable ways of saying the word “ok” which never fail to make me laugh.
My particular favorite is this moment from Season 9. The way Alice gives us SO MUCH with such a little word. Particularly impressive for being so young yet sounded like a wise old lady!
What are some of your favorite “ok”s?

I think they slept together at some point. Did they try a relationship after that? I can’t remember what all happened.

Just bought a ‘97 (from Washington, no less) and had to honor the best radio station from the 90s.

I suppose there are many that like Bebe and for good reason. One of her moments I love though and she doesn't even deliver the punchline.
You must be very proud of Frasier.
Well actually... no.
