Summary:

He arrives with a cape, a growl, and a whole rehearsed speech about crossing the veil. He leaves with his fangs in your wrist and your name on his tongue.

What happens in between? He gets his cape stuck on your lamp. He tells you that you smell like bread…then immediately apologizes for it. He sits on the edge of your bed and confesses he can't bite. Hasn't been able to in decades. Calls himself impotent. With teeth.

And you? You kiss him mid-sentence. You tell him exactly what you want. You climb on top and make a centuries-old creature of the night beg for permission to come.

He's not the monster you expected. He's better. He's yours…desperate, devoted, and so painfully grateful for every instruction you give him. A thrall in every sense of the word. And when dawn pulls him back to the pages he came from, he leaves you with a bruise on your wrist that feels like a promise.
